  1. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 30, 2013 -> 06:04 PM) He can't be this streaky and expect people to jump on his bandwagon. I'm glad he was tearing it up for a little bit but he has to be more consistent if we're going to win games. I wonder how smart he is. All he has to do is hit the ball in the air basically to left field or left center and he'll hit 40 home runs or more and run into a few doubles. He'd probably hit .220. I think last year notwithstanding Adam Dunn is the biggest flop in White Sox history. I mean to go to a game is to put yourself in misery having to watch him. He's probably the reason Sox attendance is blah. I mean anybody considering going to a game has to wonder if it's worth watching Dunn fail. I wonder if his batting average over the last 1,200 or so at bats is the worst of any regular in baseball history.
  2. Proud of the Hawks for overcoming what I thought was no penalty on Chicago. I thought he got knocked silly onto the bench, roughed up and then gave a very weak shove. That's a penalty? I thought we shoulda won it in regulation. Great win. And I am also a fairweather hawks fan. But I really enjoy watching playoff hockey when Hawks have a good team. As a kid I went to a TON of games, though. And I played a lot of pickup hockey on the park at I believe it was 111th or somewhere around there; I forget the name of the park.
  3. I can't take seriously any team with a guy with a .153 batting average. I'm back to where I just wish we'd release the guy if he can't hit .210. For gawd's sakes ... 153?? And Caufield, the basic premise of my Dunn debate during the Ozzie years was I was saying he had to play him and not bench him because of his contract. You can't sit a guy making that kind of money. I guess I still feel that way, but years later I just wish the Sox would eat the contract and release him. He really is a disgrace to the game of baseball (hitting wise; I realize he's a good guy).
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) It was only two games. I take games against the Cubs and Royals personally. Hate to lose to them. Dunn's .153 batting average is so bad I don't even know what to say.
  5. Just when the Sox get you to start liking them again, they tank against the Cubs. It's laughable.
  6. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 29, 2013 -> 01:59 AM) Sure looks unlikely that they'll play any more tonight. Split DH at separate parks tomorrow? That's what they should have done, but that woulda been too much fun I guess.
  7. 1.) Wedding Crashers was on TV today. Even with them having to cut so much and change words so much, I get a kick out of that movie. Do you guys agree the uncut Wedding Crashers is damn funny? 2. The Internship looks horrible, like a commercial for Google. Do you agree? 3.) Hangover III, yay or nay? I am considering going this week. Does it suck? I saw somebody on here said it's 'not as bad as everybody says.' That's not a glowing recommendation to spend 10 bucks. 4.) As far as Grownups, I thought it was horrific. Is there truly a sequel? I almost walked out of it because it was so boring and unfunny IMO at least.
  8. I just hope Dunn keeps elevating the ball to center and left center and even left. Bad things happen when he pulls the ball. The big ox just needs to go with the pitch as he has been on most of his long balls lately.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2013 -> 03:10 AM) Attendance topped 30k for maybe the last time this season I'd say no way they draw 30000 for a game the rest of the season unless it's in the playoffs. If they were between 10 and 15 over .500 and the kids are still out of school, maybe for a Friday or Saturday night game. If they are a team with this kind of record, no way. This Cub game proves that. 10,000 Cub fans and 30,000 total? Wow. We have pretty much a loyal fan base of about 20,000 on a given night, right??
  10. That last goal might be a blessing. Coach Q can harp on it and tell the Hawks it's obvious Detroit hasn't quit and will come to play. Game 7 should be insane. Hawks should be fired up out of their minds. If the Hawks win this series, who is next? Will the opponent be inferior to this one?
  11. 4-3 Hawks lead; one minute left; those who bet the over tonight are loving life.
  12. Hope the fans bring it in Game 7. Refuse to lose, baby.
  13. Hawks are kicking some major ass the third period.
  14. Awesome. 3-2 Hawks. Is this coaching? Something technical or are the Hawks just playing insanely well this period? Go Hawks.
  15. Somebody is gonna have to make a play and put a perfect shot past Detroit goalie and get this baby tied up.
  16. QUOTE (RME JICO @ May 28, 2013 -> 01:38 AM) Crawford can't let that 2nd goal in. Horrible goaltending on that long shot. Hawks better tie it up by the 10 minute mark cause Detroit will just be dumping the puck and protecting the lead. This is embarrassing right now. Hawks looked like they had 20 pound weights on their backs that 2nd period. Detroit was all over. The whole period was Detroit.
  17. I disagree, Jake. If you are going to come out and play zombie-like by giving them a first-inning run, you are contributing to your own demise. In some ways it's not just one of the 50 you are going to lose when you put it on a platter for them in the first inning.
  18. Is there a Blackhawk message board? I wanna read the meltdown. Hawks playing horribly in 2nd period.
  19. Hawks getting totally outworked so far in the 2nd.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:39 AM) 30,631 on a holiday. Wow...can't believe it almost ended up under 30K, and a good 10,000 of them are cheering for the Cubs. Let's face it, 26,000 is a huge crowd for the Sox this season. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:59 AM) This team isn't winning a World Series. .500 is the upside of this team. Robin is doing a helluva job to have the Sox right there.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:07 AM) It may have something to do with the pitcher.... Yeah, he has a sparkling 2-6 record for this horrific Cub team.
  22. Robin Ventura must be the manager of the century to have this team at .500. Or is starting pitching that important? I mean how the hell is this team .500 compared to the Royals, who are 6 or 7 under?
  23. I'd feel a lot better about this game if the score was 0-0 vs. Samarjia (sp). That mental error by Lexi still chafes me.
  24. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:32 AM) Alexei sucks. He's overrated. Anyone disagree? I wouldn't say he sucks or is overrated. He's a bit above average, nothing special. Kepp with the predictable double play. Why not go to right field there, Kepp? Lousy at bat.
  25. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:27 AM) I don't know about you guys but i've had it with Alexei's brain farts. Dumbass just gave them a run. And why can't Quintana just pitch with confidence like in his last start? Instead of being afraid and cautious with every pitch to this crumby chubs lineup? WHYYYY I wouldn't blame Q at all for Lexi's total screw up. That was such an easy DP to end the inning.
