  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) I miss Mark. If only he didn't make so much his last two years. It's amazing to me because of how valuable he is to a staff, Mark is worth the extra 4 or 5 million a year. Can you imagine if the Royals would have paid for Buehrle? He is JUST what they need. The Sox need Mark desperately as well. It's crazy how teams pick and choose who/what they will pay.
  2. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 06:10 AM) Mitchell would be fine. He hasn't impressed me yet and I'm easily impressed. I think the Cubs would take Flowers and Mitchell for Dempster. That might be overpaying.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) Its nice to start with a win after the All-Star game. Let's hope we start with a series win Badger, that's the important thing. Win series.
  4. I bet we get Dempster and I bet the price is gonna be Mitchell. They'll want a No. 1 pick to act as if they stole a player from us.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 03:03 AM) Hochevar seems to own the Sox and seems to be terrible against everyone else. The only guy who really hits him hard is Ramirez, IIRC. He's a miserable pitcher. I can't believe we didn't get to him. I guess Yost saved him in time.
  6. QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 02:47 AM) Ozzie loses this game 8-3 Who gives a f*** about that? And how the heck do you know that? Peavy stunk just like Q stunk in the opener. He gave up six earned runs. We need good pitching and defense and home runs to win!!!
  7. Peavy vs. Hochevar you'd think advantage White Sox. Not quite tonight. KC remains a tough out when Sox play them.
  8. I thought Seitzer was a nice guy. He appeared to be a dick in the postgame interview. Maybe he's feeling the heat over Hosmer. Right now Hosmer is a disaster. His struggles are Beckham-like (prior to Beckham getting his average to the .240 rang). You have to wonder if maybe KC will have to platoon him or sit him or send him down. He's that bad right now.
  9. Mark Buehrle, one of my top three favorite Sox of all time, is ON FIRE. 4-0 in last four starts with some miniscule ERA. He would be looking mighty good in the White Sox rotation right now! He is durable and a competitor. I love the guy!
  10. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 02:08 AM) Only positive is that Cleveland and Detroit lost. Oh well let's go for the series win with Sale on the mound tmr. Thank goodness Sale is pitching Sunday. I thought he was being rested longer.
  11. Good thing we won that 14-inning game last night somehow. s***ty game tonight, though.
  12. Three runs against KC's horrific staff. Ballgame. ... unless Broxsuck sucks.
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) After last year's relief appearance v Washington debacle, you'd think they'd have learned a lesson. Jake needs to have his bulldog priveleges neutered. Maybe after tonight. Fathom is right. Obviously he was done after seven.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:55 AM) Because this team for years has had a mentality of playing to thir competition. It's the lack of a killer instinct by our team. The belief that there is always another day, until they run out. Can't argue with that. We better win on Sunday and win this series. I understand why we are resting Sale, but I'd prefer winning 2 of 3 and worrying about Sale's arm later.
  15. The Royals are 17-13 when Getz has started a game this year.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:52 AM) If a manager is scared to take the ball from a pitcher, then that manager should not have a job. You have to admit it happens a lot with Peavy. Ozzie, Robin, I'd assume the SD manager. They leave him in.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:51 AM) I am so tired of the KC pissants beating the Sox. Except for the rare night we drill their horrendous starting pitching, they give us a game every time. Don't know why we can't hammer their lousy pitching nightly.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:49 AM) That's just so stupid...you really fall for the "grinder" lines, don't you? I'm telling you WHY they let him pitch so long compared to other starters. You don't agree there's a different standard? Managers can't get the ball from him. Not saying I agree with it all the time tho.
  19. Well no way we are gonna get out of this without at least one scoring. Broxton will have the insurance run. f***.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) Why is Peavy still pitching? The entire bullpen was not THAT taxed last night. Thornton threw one inning, Santiago threw to one batter. Like Lefebre just said you need to wrestle Jake to get the ball out of his hands. It's a different standard when he's on the mound.
  21. Peavy doesnt like to be taken out of games.
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 01:42 AM) f***. Win it in the ninth please. Gotta get the leadoff man on base vs. Broxton and get the negative stadium vibe going.
  23. This will please all the Sox fans wearing AJ jerseys to Kauffman tonight.
  24. Good hustle! Make them pay. Now's the time, White Sox.
  25. Sox need to hope for a Broxton implosion again. Pesky KC five outs away from evening series.
