Royals have some issues still. If Hosmer was hitting as he did last year, the Royals might have a pretty good offense. As such, the offense is blah and the starting pitching is a joke. The Royals have some good players in Cain, Perez, Escobar, Gordon, Butler and Moustakas. Not bad at all. Sox did a great job of stopping Butler in those 3 games at The K. Hope that continues the rest of the times we play KC. Butler can kill ya.

QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) Benedict Buehrle is a perfect fit for the NL. His numbers are way up, and his velocity will only go even lower from here on out. Ugh. I don't even think the Sox wanted to keep Buehrle. They didn't seem too concerned about him leaving. Why call Mark something like that? I wish he was still in Chicago. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 10:53 PM) Is Greg going to Wrigley this week? I picture him as Cusack holding up the boom box in SAY ANYTHING. Playing the lousy Cubs may turn Miami's season around. Is that series with Washington a wraparound 4 gamer? It's 1-2 vs. Wash over the weekend isn't it? QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) Know what's unprofessional? Continuing to be a clown with the media, showing disrespect to other teams, having his teams be underachievers under him, etc. Don't worry, it's Heath Bell's fault. The Sox have corrected pretty much everything that was a problem for them last year now under Ventura, and they all fall under one category: FUNDAMENTALS. Ozzie is a f***ing joke. Enjoy your warm climate and s***ty team, a**hole. Your team has been shutout 9 times this year. THAT'S HEATH BELL'S FAULT, DAMNIT. Geez. You have it in for Ozz. I think you protest too much.

White Sox 12th in avg prices across board (fan cost index)
greg775 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't know if the Sox have this, but Royals had great fan promotion Friday night. One dollar hot dogs and small drinks. I think they do it every Friday during the summer. I'll take it. Delicious dogs. Guy I was with had four or five. I had 2. Nice to pay 2 bucks instead of 9 for 2 fricking hot dogs. -
Sale. Reed. Lexi's defense. Youk (being a badass for saying something to Lexi for stealing those two pop ups to third) Dunn Etc.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) I admit I was wrong about Youkilis...although I suppose we need to see more than two weeks before we make judgment...but he's definitely got more left than I anticipated. He's been an absolute blessing. As for Reed, I think Fathom made a great point the other night. He needs to throw the ball on more than just one plane, or "change the eye level" of the hitters, as SS would say. Most of his pitches are coming in between the knee and the waist, and given that he throws 3/4, the ball stays on that plane for a long time. Would like to see him burying more pitches down and in instead of just a foot off the plate. He didn't strike anybody out again today I don't think, but Lexi was behind him with the great D on the grounders. I'll take his save today. Nice job, Reed.

QUOTE (Yoda @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 12:16 AM) Here's hoping Youkilis hits a HR in every at-bat he's pitched to at Fenway (hell, seems like every former wsox player does so against us). I wonder if he receives an amazing, standing ovation each at bat.

QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) we lose this game 3-2 with ozzie LOL. If this has become your postgame schtick, it is annoying. How the hell do you know what the score would have been with Ozzie? If the downward slide with Ozzeroo was continuing, Sox mighta lost 9-0 or something. Or maybe the Sox would have kept Sale in the bullpen if Ozzie was here. Who the frick knows? WHo cares? Just as I checked out for the game to get dressed for 5 p.m. Mass I had it on the radio and Sale got out of it in the eighth. Royals need to cut Betancourt. If he'd have played all 3 games we'd have swept KC. Too bad he only played 2 games. Great job by Sale and Reed. Nice to see Reed bounce right back after Friday and get the save. Winning a road series in KC for the first time since 2009 is a nice feather for Robin.

Can't take it anymore. Hope we hang on. I am out. Royals piss me off too much to watch.
-
Uh oh. Runner on first. Maybe Yost will screw it up somehow.
-
Assholes keep throwing at Konerko. Retaliate in the next series.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 09:09 PM) Youk looks pissed I bet he yells at Ramirez in the dugout. Sale with another great inning.

Seven innings and counting for Mendoza. The hex in KC is continuing. Havent won a series in Kauffman since 09. It has to change today.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) His elbow is swollen, but the MRI showed no damage. I hope JR got a Groupon for MRI's. The Sox seem to be sending someone in for one almost every week. Swollen elbow sounds awful.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Yes Sweet. Never heard of him.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Axelrod, Humber, Castro, the Sox better win today. Its going to be tough the next 3 days. Is Floyd hurt? You can't win a division tossing those 3 guys out on the mound.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Triple-A Charlotte's Simon Castro pulled after three scoreless innings. could be a candidate to start Wednesday at Boston. Is he any good?
-
I can't believe Sox are still winning.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) Getz Getz gets it done. He's so much better than Betancourt.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) what a great freakin play by beckham -- WOW It was beautiful.
-
No laugher today. Will have to scratch and claw for a win against another hack pitcher.
-
Youd think the media would see him icing his wrist after games if it's the wrist. What is wrong with Paulie? The mystery goes on. He's so frustrated he did the shoulder shrug on a tapper to short and didn't hustle. Yikes. Although it is hot there.
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) Who the hell is Lorenzo Cain and why is he destroying us in this series? He's beloved in KC; fans love his potential as a prospect.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) Sale playing with fire. Gordon's a good hitter. s*** happens. He flared one out there.
-
Butler's a good hitter. That was a great great job by Sale.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) After this season we will get reports of how hurt Konerko is and what a trooper he proved to be. Meanwhile a little rest might mean he gets a bit better. Bu That does suck that we don't know how bad he's hurt. It seems stupid to not tell everybody. As hot as he was early is how cold he is now.
