Wow, another hit. Acta is gonna have to act and yank Lowe soon. Sox knocked him around today. Sweet.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) Jeez. 70 pitches already. Peavy has to give us at least a couple of more innings somehow...but Robin's got to keep him from completely blowing us out of the game. 1st and 3rd in the AL in ERA coming into the game, 9 runs already allowed in 2+ innings. That's a crazy post, caufield. How the hell is Robin going to do that? It's all up to Peavy in the scenario you presented. Two great hits by Dunn and Paulie there. Wow.

This is not a quality start. Bullpen better get ready for a long day.
-
Wow. Jake's got nothing all of a sudden. He's meat. Weird.
-
Peavy annoyed with the umps? Cleveland is good. This should be a wild game.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 26, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) Hawk with actual analysis. Huh. Uh, hawk is doing what he always does. Excel at play by play and analysis.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 26, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) Great showing from the offense. Nobody really going for the longball, just hitting it where it's pitched. Lift and pull, it was nice to know you. What are u talking about. Lift and pull better still be here. U seen the home run totals lately? Today? Yes I love them going with the pitch vs. Lowe.

Time for Lexi to join in the fun. Nice inning. Wow.

Great catch. Glad AJ came right back. AJ is an amazing hitter right now. He's pretty ageless at this point. What a baseball player. Wow.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) The problem for the Sox is that it was more than just "A bad season", it's compounding multiple years of disappointment, ending in 2 really, incredibly disappointing seasons, and big budget cuts/the kids can play rebuilding. Plus letting a guy like Mark go to another team. Public relations/ticket sales nightmare. At these prices who besides business owners can afford tickets n parking? The average southsider with wife n two kids cannot even consider attending more than a few games a season. The cost of a game for all four has to be staggering.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 26, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) I blame this f***ing thread because something happened to me watching the highlights of last night's game and I suddenly grew very annoyed with Hawk's home run exuberance. I don't mind the call, just don't blow a freakin' gasket for a home run hit during a regular season game...in the middle innings, no less. You listen to his calls from the 90s and he wasn't like this. Don't need a "Mercy!" on each one either. Ah s***! See, this thread ruined me! I think he goes a little too crazy on Tank's homers. He really should edit himself on the A bomb thing since it's being used by the Yankees and makes more sense for A-Rod. I didn't mind Hawk's homer calls last night. Seems like stretch is becoming a part of most home runs. With most of the bombs lately he doesn't even need the stretch. I'm nitpicking though. I loved last night's broadcast. He and Stoney were flowing.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 23, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) So, on ESPN 1000 in the past two days, I've heard: 1) Harry Teinowitz muttering about Hawk pointing out the empty seats "over and over" (Monday) 2) Bruce Levine blamed the empty seats on Sox fans not buying enough tickets to the "Crosstown" games (Monday) 3) And the first hour of Waddle & Silvy on Tuesday taking calls from listeners who don't go to games but follow the team on tv, radio, internet, etc. because tickets are too expensive and the team stinks. Aren't those Sox fan arguments? By the way, $140 for a bleacher seat for their premium games? That's crazy. http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventIn...ts-HotTix-Games It costs 140 bucks to sit in the bleachers ... for one game? Sad what has come of the national pastime. That is a f***ing joke. A movie still is what, 10-12 bucks? Geezus. Can you really get a lower level seat at wrigley for 5 bucks for a weekday game now? Man.

Great home run hitting. Dandy pitching. Nice victory.

I watched tonight's game on mlb and listened to Hawk/Stoney. Truthfully they were a pleasure to listen to. Hawk does a great job in expressing excitement and he says interesting s***. I feel sorry for those of you who can't appreciate the team of Hawk/Stoney. Seriously.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 25, 2012 -> 10:34 PM) Coming from the guy who's been the most negative and pouted the entire season because the only reason he is a Sox fan is now coaching in Miami. Hilarious At least when I'm negative it's in general terms - inability to win at home; freakish way the Sox have of blowing games -- rarely do I go after players not named Rios. I went after Dunn last year but so did everybody else just about. The only reason I was a Sox fan is Ozzie? Ridiculous. I'm such a Sox fan I not only know Carlos Lee played for the Sox but so did Carlos May, who had part of his thumb blown off in an accident, costing him what prolly would have been a great career. I know more about the White Sox than Ozzie Guillen. Though admittedly he was one of my favorite Sox players and definitely my favorite Sox manager of all time. I can match any of you in terms of knowledge of the White Sox the last many decades.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:55 AM) O-Dog has been having some very nice, veteran at bats. I love walks. Nice job by Hudson to draw so many tonight.

It's amazing how the Sox have some players with fantasy league value this year ... first time in a while cept for Paulie. Paulie ... AJ ... Tank ... Dunn ... Sale ... even DeAza all can produce for any fantasy league team. Reed maybe at some point. His 18 ERA in a meaningless non save situation is a stat killer.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) Tank! Hawk's got to quit with the Michael Kay A-bomb s*** I wonder if he knows the Yankee announcer does that horrible A-bomb for A-Rod call. Somebody better tweet or email the Hawk and tell him.
-
Tank-mania. Not to beat a dead horse, but this team is a one-trick pony. It's all (bombs) or nothing. Just keep hitting 2-3 homers a game all summer and it'll be a good summer. Keep that long ball blazing, baby!
-
Now, just play a clean final 3 innings and put these guys down in Game One. We got a nice little lead to work with.
-
How can DeAza be this good? The man is pretty talented.
-
Nice RBI hit by Lexi. It's hard to believe how bad Damon's arm is, but who cares? Sox scored.

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 26, 2012 -> 01:52 AM) I think over time, our best hope is that he just take a few more walks per month. To require a total overhaul of him is probably asking a lot. If he slugs, he's worth it. If he doesn't, he's not. Nice post. I think you are probably correct. Personally I hate to see guys never walk. It's kind of maddening no matter how good the player is.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 26, 2012 -> 01:52 AM) If a guy like Dewayne Wise can stay in the big leagues for ten years despite never taking nine walks a year, I think Dayan will be fine. Yeah, but I want to win games with Dayan and have him be an impact player. As much as I love Wise, his "impact" on winning was very minimal.
