  1. Mama don't let your kids grow up to be catchers.
  2. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) I'd be surprised to see anymore batters thrown at. Until the Rays take they lead they are determined to go out like assholes IMO. I expect more. They are not above starting something up again.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) I think you need to relax a bit. Posts occur while typing and often get overlooked. You yourself have been late to the party for the majority of this thread The mod is trying to enforce the game with more force than that s*** homeplate umpire. A player got injured by a Ray pitcher and ... nothing from the ump.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) Buster Olney's last tweet insinuates he thinks the pickoff beaning may have been intentional too It is such bulls***. The pitcher should been ejected. He gunned the ball right at him. I never knew the big bad Rays of Maddon can't take a sweep fair and square. Assholes. They are now my least favorite team in the AL. The Sox have to retaliate again. This time there will be a brawl. Should be interesting. If they have a problem with AJ, why didn't their starter tackle him when he passed by the mound after his ground out? Instead they knock out of the game a guy who is having a great season trying to establish himself in DeAza. Chicken s***s. I hope Matt Thornton goes headhunting here. He might.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:53 PM) Starting to lose respect for Maddon today. I guess you are not allowed to come in and b****slap the mighty Rays in their s***ty stadium with their 10,000 fans. Unbelievable they knocked out DeAza there. f***ing unreal. There should be a brawl today which will mean a couple sox suspensions.
  6. The Rays are making a mockery of the game of baseball. Howell intentionally knocks out DeAza after everything was settled? WTF??
  7. Should have ejected Howell. Bush league.
  8. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) The Rays were retaliating against a dirty play. The umps knew it and that was that. To then throw at Zobrist especially in a close game is dumb. The Rays seem to be a fine team this is not like the Showalter BS. If the umps knew it, they should have issued a warning there. The best thing is AJ running over the pitchers mound on the way back to the dugout after his out. That is awesome.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) Nothing will happen MLB will kiss umpires ass. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) The Ryas fought back from a dirty slide in your world the game would never end as it would be HBP, HBP, HBP,....... 1.) The one good thing today is umpires are getting blasted by Hawk. Any day an umpire can get exposed is a good day. Umpires in MLB suck. They've tried to ruin the game. 2.) Hawk would disagree with you. The Rays hit two hitters and this starter likes to pitch inside. The Sox "retaliation" was a joke, not worth of an ejection. The batter laughed it was such a lame pitch inside.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) Automatic ejection for manager if a pitcher gets ejected after warning is given. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Aj spikes a guy Aj gets hit Aj spikes a guy again Throw at a guy while you are winning, really dumb, really dumb. Wins and pitching are precious. Quintana was on a roll and was looking good. You have to fight back at some point. Beckham got drilled; AJ got drilled. Tank is a hitting machine. Nice RBI Lexi.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) Payback for the AJ Pierzynski spike. Well, there's Greg's revenge. AJ thrown out of the game? Zobrist was the one who was spiked...then they throw behind Zobrist? This was a really really dumb move...doesn't make any sense. Nathan Jones will be in the game. Should have at least issued a warning there. Did he issue a warning to both teams after AJ got hit? You are right though, he had to retaliate. This is baseball. That's funny how Zobrist laughed.
  12. Man, that was a great play by Hudson.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) 1-3 to end it, Sox make Rays pay for HBP of Aj. Sox lead 3-1 after 2.5 from the stadium that was almost their home. Is this game on WGN?
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 30, 2012 -> 05:47 AM) Did you miss the 49 games before this? The team has been playing pretty damn well all year. The team was horrid at home and crap before this 7 game streak. Since Paulie got hit in the face the team has been great.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2012 -> 05:16 AM) Or Escobar, although he at least gives you versatility and pinch-running. Morel should be playing everyday in Charlotte or playing everyday in Chicago (IF IF IF 100% healthy). Unless the team goes in the tank again, Hudson will probably be the choice while the line-up as its currently constituted continues to do damage. Managers are pretty superstitious, and Robin's seemingly become infatuated with this particular one...probably because it's working so well. I forgot about Escobar, but like you said he's speedier and more versatile. I can't see keeping Morel around as a guy who plays once a week. He'll be sent down if he has options IMO. They didn't acquire Hudson to sit.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 30, 2012 -> 05:06 AM) Oh please, when this team cools off you'll be right back to Ozzie posts and calling Rios your least favorite Sox player ever, and then blame KW for not trading the BUMS of the team. How do you know? This is the first sign of life of this team in a long time. When the team actually does something of note it's easier to stay loyal during the rough patches. Only somebody like El Rockin cannot be fazed of the lousy play of the last two plus seasons. Your post is quite offensive. You don't know anything about my fandom. I've rooted for this team forever, since my days as a kid on the south side. This is the first stretch in a long time where you could be very very pleased with the team and the effort and the contributions of many. Rios is my least favorite player ever. Yes he is. Always will be. So what? When the team is clicking and playing well and winning, there's no reason to talk about his contract. It doesn't matter. Haven't you heard the saying, "Just Win Baby?" Best athletic saying of all time. Winning shuts everybody up. You offend me. Low blow. And my Ozzie posts are always in response to people who blast Ozzie. I don't bring up the topic. i stand up for the man. If the season ended today he and Robin would be likely candidates for NL and AL manager of the year.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:28 AM) So, does Morel lose his job to injury? Or does Robin go back to him after the rehab assignment? My guess is Hudson is going nowhere. Lilly is more valuable so Morel will be the guy sent down unless we shelve a pitcher, right? How many options does Morel have left?
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:50 AM) I know that was a joke but I still trade Rios in a second to get rid of that contract. When the team is playing this well, all that other stuff is meaningless. No time to lament Rios' contract right now. This team appears to be clicking. It already had several chances to go in the tank (no pun intended) with some excruciating losses and instead put together a nice winning streak here. Keep it up.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 29, 2012 -> 04:26 AM) See Mark Shapiro, 2005 AL Executive of the Year over KW If the season ended today, Robin would be manager of year in AL and Ozzie in NL. Pretty amazing when you think of that.
  20. The team is playing well, here's another thread to b**** about the announcers. Enjoy life, people. Summer is coming. Sox are winning.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:57 AM) Hello first place my old friend. Nice succinct post. Can you believe how hot Tank is?? He was so bad just a few weeks ago it seemed like he just had to be sent down to get his act together. The man the last couple weeks has been as hot as any player in history. My god. He could carry this team himself at this rate. Keep the Tank and the team rolling. The Rays didn't know what hit them at home, much like the Thunder getting steamrolled.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:13 AM) Or when Robin Ventura wins Manager of the year in the AL... I said he's leading contender in the AL. Why would it bother me to have him win it? It'd probably mean the Sox are division champs at the very least.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 28, 2012 -> 06:49 PM) awesome catch but what kind of s***-ass field has a fence that is like 2ft high? Seriously, what's up with that fence. Is it because the stadium is so big they put up some little temporary thing? I've never seen anything like that.
  24. Indians bounce back with a win over KC after the Sox boatraced them all weekend. Nice win for the Tribe.
  25. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 29, 2012 -> 12:14 AM) Ozzie is such a copy cat, having the same record as the Sox. What a Cutler face. Right now, both Ventura and Guillen are contenders for manager of the year in their leagues. Both should be proud. Guillen is a proven leader whose team is kicking ass and in contention. Ventura was doing nothing in baseball last year, but obviously has a feel for the game and currently a better feel than Ozzie for how much rest a player needs. Ozzie's Sunday lineups were not conducive to winning. Other than that, he was/is quite outstanding. Both deserve a grade of A at this present time. I hope it's a Sox-Marlins WS. Hopefully the AL wins the all-star game. Homefield advantage is HUGE in the WS.
