QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 21, 2012 -> 05:42 AM) No, he didn't. You're beyond baseball clueless. WHY THE f*** DIDN'T WE THROW AT EVERYONE TODAY, SHOULD HAVE GOT PEAVY OUT EARLY WE DIDN'T NEED TO WIN THE GAME, STAND UP FOR THE ORGANIZATION!!! Peavy fired one up tight on one Cub early. I thought he'd plunk one but frankly the Sox did such a nice job this weekend it probably would have been overkill in drilling a Cub today. Although I did want to see somebody pay for a senseless attack on Paulie. I agreed fully with the Sun Times article quoting Peavy. YOU DO NOT hit a legend in the face with a pitch. I kind of was hoping Peavy would have made something up to the media, like he dedicated the win to Paulie. Samarj did the right thing and was contrite in interviews but I wish the Sox would have blasted him publicly even more. Though what Peavy said was pretty good.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 21, 2012 -> 06:36 AM) Ok so heres the deal, I'm SLIGHTLY intoxicated and I just finshed watching some dubbya dubbya E wrestling so I'm all hyped up. What none of know about me as you look past my posts of truths and sweep them under the rug like its nonsense is I am a former student of current WWE World Heavyweight Champ CM Punk (Along with Sexy Ace Steele and Colt Boom Boom Cabana) and as some of you guys may know they are some of the best in the world when it comes to shooting on an interview so Ive learned for the best. Ive had it up to here with you nay sayers and those of you that expect nothing of this team, this team that is our team, this team that we are here to root for not to constantly put down and give up on. I'm here to guide you all back to fandom and take down the nay sayers of the board one rebuttal at a time. Those of still out there that dont believe are blind, blind to the fact that this team previously stuck around .500 without a 2 hole hitter, THE Golden Boy on the south side of chicago Gordon "I'm no longer messing around" Beckham. You see this team also got nothing...NOTHING... out of a guy whos gonna show you that he most certainly IS worth that wait in The Tank Dayan "Chulo Baro" Viciedo. This ".500 team" just added an IMPACT middle of the lineup bat, and filled the black hole in the #2 spot of the lineup that they previously had in that .500 team. You see guys when a .500 team adds what very well could be a good #2 hitter and an impact middle of the order bat that team is no longer a .500 team. Dayan Viciedo is what Manny Ramirez was supposed to be, Gordon Beckham is gonna be what Gordon Beckham is supposed to be. If things go as planned the black hole that is Brent Morel will rid his ugly bat of this lineup and Orlando "The Spark Plug" Hudson will bring some sort of livelyhood, some sort of pulse to 9 hole. This man has 5 triples, which was good for the most in the NL, I'm not even sure Brent Morel has 5 hits this year. Jake Peavy is an ace again, Chris sale will be a good number 2, Gavin Floyd will be a good number 3, John Danks will be a good number 4, and our number 5 through a no hitter and was an all star just last year. When I look at that I see a damn good starting rotation. I see a rotation thats in the top 6 in quality starts, batting average against, WHIP. I see a rotation thats number 1 in complete games. I see a rotation that we should be proud of. The bullpen, well the bullpen if managed right, Robin, buddy I'm lookin at you brotha, this bullpen can be lights out! Robin, you have a deep enough bullpen to where you can use Will Ohman as strictly a LOOGY where he can be a key part of this pen. Everyone here is up in arms about how terrible Zach Stewart has been, first hes not, and second hes the first guy out of the pen, hes the mop up guy, hes the guy every team has that they can hide in the bullpen. Show me a team in baseball that doesnt have 1 guy in the pen that isnt a stud, you'll be hard pressed to do so. Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain have been consistently solid for the last 3 or 4 years, a rarity for a reliever who are mostly hit or miss from year to year. Hector Santiago outside his 2 blown saves has given up 2 runs in 13 innings. Nate Jones has been just about as rock solid has it gets. Those 2 are the future lefty righty set up men for one of the best young closers in the game Addison Reed. This is a new team, this is a team you can cheer for. THIS IS A COMPETING TEAM. THIS IS REAL. THIS IS WHITE SOX BASEBALL. Nice post, but this is what drives me crazy about the Sox. It does look like the Sox have a contender on paper. But the home record (I know, it's beaten into the ground) and the bullpen wackiness - Crain was one bomb from being a total goat today with the 3 walks - makes me skeptical. Also we won today with three home runs and good pitching, again, THE ONLY WINNING FORMULA for this team. So if you could guarantee me we'd be hittting a ton of home runs in games in the Cell, which we don't and if we could get consistently good bullpen work (which frankly we haven't for 2 plus seasons now) I might believe. Sorry if I'm a bad fan for not jumping on board.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 17, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) That sucks that you have to go down there. Any s***head who is doing something like that should be arrested, charged properly and be subject to a civil suit from their victims. Agreed. What do you guys think of the guy running timcast.com getting pulled over last night. Seems like too much to be a coincidence. Cops drew their guns on the timcast.com guy n his two friends. All sorts of weird questions pop in my head when I think of protestors who march, then park in front of the mayor's house, etc. Like ... -- If the protestors walked on the lawns on people on the far southside there'd be some ass kicking going on by the homeowners. They are mighty proud of those small plots of grass on the southside. I saw on the video the protestors were trampling some lawns. -- What does a protestor do if he needs to take a leak? Nobody's gonna let them in their house or restaurant? Slugging all that water down all day and gatorade while walking ... what happens? Ah my mind races when the Sox win 4 in a row.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/12643100-41...with-pitch.html This is all such bulls***. I wish Samarj would take a lie detector test. He hit Konerko on purpose. Cmon. He just sounds like a guy trying to get away with it.

Great articles. He's one talented writer who obviously was suspended one week or at least it appears he was. You didn't see his byline for several days after the incident. Does he have a new twitter yet? -
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) FWIW my friend says he met ODawg and said he was an asshole. Just don't sign him for next year no matter what. We don't need to sign him even if he does well. This guy should be on one-year deals the rest of his career. If he's an asshole do not sign him for more than the rest of this season!

Maybe he and Paulie will flip flop. Nah, Paulie is too established at first, but he definitely can give Paulie a rest two games a week maybe.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 20, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) 102 pitches, it's not an early hook at all. I thought Jake should have been taken out after 6. Hopefully Thornton isn't lighter fluid today. -

That's actually a good commercial by Hebrew Hot Dogs. It makes you want to eat a hot dog ... now, and hot dogs are not that great. I want one. -

Facing a mediocre lefty was good for DeAza I bet. Can't hurt his confidence rapping two hits. This is a White Sox butt kicking right now. Keep it up and keep those grounders coming, Jake. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) Not like Ozzie. Well, neither is Konerko. But everyone who plays roto baseball knows him, just like they know Reed, Sale, Santiago, etc. They watch that stuff religiously. Nice job by Peavy with the bat. Thing about Dayan, I have him in a league and still don't play him much, at least until a few games into his hot streak. There are a lotta good hitting outfielders out there. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 20, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) It appears I let go of Dayan at the wrong time. Still have Alexei though. Can't you get him back? Unless your league is full of Sox fans, it's not like the Tank is a hot national commodity. -

Cub fans have to be mentally insane if they are saying wind aided on those home runs. Those three blasts should give Maholm nightmares if he loses. All 3 were monumental. -

QUOTE (Baron @ May 20, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) lol love the Cubs fans talking about the "wind assisted" home runs. That Adam Dunn homer did not need any help. Geezus. It's their ballpark. They are not used to the wind blowing out by now?? The Cubs have really annoyed me this series. -

If this game continues on like this and we win, what a dominant sweep this would be in Wrigley. Only halfway through; obviously a lot can happen. This still could be a 9-6 game or something like that. -
