  1. Hopefully we win today so we can stop talking about this play which really wasn't anyone's fault. He went after the ball, had he not went after it, you'd all be b****ing that he didn't make enough effort to get it. I actually feel for Crede at this point, guy has no confidence and if he keeps playing this way with the bat, he's going to be booed at home.
  2. I am assuming you are talking about Jermaine Dye, correct?
  3. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) hes on my fantasy team, he will start improving Better drop him and cut your losses.
  4. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) All I know is that sox fans used to hate AJ, too. Whenever Hunter is a free agent, I'd love to see him bring his glove and bat to 35th and Dan Ryan I agree on that, I'd love to have him, but until then you gotta love to hate this guy.
  5. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Going from a night game in Minnesota to a day game in Cleveland is just bulls***. Sox-2 Indians-8 Yes, he picked against us, we're a sure fire winner now....
  6. Dmitri Young knows a lot about contending for a division. He's played for a lot of great teams, including the Reds and Detroit, who have been to a lot of World Series lately. This was just about the dumbest comment I've ever read. Gardenhire will post that and the Twins will give Detroit a beating. Personally, I've got Detroit finishing 4th in this division, especially as long as Maggs stays "sick" with a "viral infection" (bone marrow edema).
  7. Got it added as the wallpaper.... Good stuff guys. One suggestion would be to have Buehrle on the calendar for May....
  8. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) The more I look at our list the more I realize that it's absolutely ridiculous that Munoz is in the top 10. Oh well. I'd have to agree there. Munoz is still intriguing because of his curveball, but I wouldn't consider him to be top 10. As long as we have Cotts and Marte, I'd consider him pretty much stuck as AAA fodder unless we trade him because I definitely don't see him ever starting for us again. One thing on his side is his relative youth, he is only 22, but I don't know if he ever makes a big impact with this organization.
  9. I'll be at work unfortunately, but
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) I can't argue that point. They didn't even use the Sox-Twins highlights from the first 2 games to hype the Sunday night game. They showed highlights on the intro to the game, but that was it.
  11. As far as I know the only TV today is Comcast SN and the Cleveland FSN affiliate if you have the dish.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) Ever since 1990 I've gone on an annual baseball trip with my dad, uncle, and cousin. We went to a different city every year for a Thursday to Sunday trip, so we've been fortunate to be exposed to many cities and the great local bars/restaurants in those cities. Now that my dad is retired in Arizona and my uncle unfortunately dehabilitated by Alzheimers, it's morphed into a spring training trip. The wife and I love to travel though and fortunately we have the same taste ... sample the local cuisine, stay away from the chain places, get out into the neighborhoods and get a taste of the local scene. We don't spend a lot of money on the hotel, take advantage of weekend deals and discounts, and eat the bigger meal at lunch. It's really an enjoyable way to see the country, experience different ballparks, and build memories. Within driving distance, Milwaukee and Cincinnati are personal favorites. St. Louis has some very nice areas with local flavor as well. I can even come up with some positives for Detroit ... and Cleveland too. Pittsburgh is a little farther but a also a great small city. Part of our trip is to always seek out the site of a previous ballpark, i.e. Sportsmans Park in St. Louis, Crosley Field in Cincinnati, etc. It's interesting to see what type of commemorative marker they have and see where baseball history has been made. For those of you with sons in particular, try to make time to do something like this. It is a bonding experience like no other. A great post from one of our greatest! Best thing I've read all day Jim.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Actually, early in the game, they were talking about the Twins not playing good baseball. Which was true at the time. Then the Sox started playing poorly and Santana became dominant. What else could they do? Their general bias against the Sox is quite evident from all of their announcers top to bottom and their programming. Case in point, Sox win the first 2 of the series, they bury the highlights way down in SportsCenter. Then the Sunday night game, we've got the Twins-Sox highlights early in the show. Now you can say it was since Johan was pitching against Buehrle, but neither of these guys are well-known outside of their respective markets.
  14. Milton was the worst signing of the off-season, no question about it.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) Hey Jay! :fyou That is the only username you can throw personal insults at without being banned.... So while you're at it, let me join in... :fyou douchebag Mariotti
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) I think Santana had more to do with it than ESPN did. I'm just talking about the announcers and such...Even though I muted the game and listened to Rooney and Farmer, I can only imagine how much slurping Morgan was doing on the Twins.
  17. Personally I'd be fine if we don't play another game on ESPN all year, until the playoffs.

    Fever Pitch

I can't stand Fallon or the Red Sox, so I doubt I'll be seeing it.
  19. I guess all of the ignorance has left the thread for now after everyone has had the chance to realize that one loss should never be shouldered on one guy. Personally, it's okay to criticize guys on this team, but knee jerk reactions after one play are not necessary. In fact, if it happens all year, it's going to be a long one.
  20. My favorite Torii Hunter moment is when Sox fans basically booed him out of the stadium after he ran over Burke. Words mean nothing to me. :fyou Torii
  21. What gets me is that we are 4-2, we've won the first two series of the year and people are still finding things to b**** about. That's what is so remarkable about all of this to me. As long as we win the series as we go along, I am fine with this team. Why wasn't there a Contreras 1-0, Takatsu 0-1 thread after the Thursday game?
  22. Horrible thread, it's a long season folks and it's going to be much longer if threads like this keep popping up all season.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Now hit Hunter. Amen, it better happen.
  24. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Well according to Joe Morgan anything within 2 inches of the plate is a strike. Joe Morgan = Numbnuts
  25. This is f***ing horrible, this ump is a total jackass.
