Oh how I long for the glory days...

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Sirius is at 5 because its subscriber base, revenue streams and market penetration is less than half of what XM has. Couple that with a much heavier debt load and a business plan that hinges entirely on Sirius's success with getting people to pay to listen to Stern. Something that didn't work for XM when they did the same thing for O&A. I heard a rumor the other day that XM eventually plans to buy out Sirius. Anyone else heard anything similar to this?
-
SS2k4, I noticed XM's stock is at around 30 and Sirius is at around 5. Do you know anything about either of these stocks?

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) He has a contract to finish with KROCK in New York... Exactly, the point is, he is one of their main attractions right now and he's not even on the air with Sirius. A lot of people are getting Sirius now because of Stern, yet you can't even listen to him on there until January. Personally, I don't understand buying Sirius now for Stern if he doesn't come on until then but that's just me.

Keep Uribe and Soriano.

QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) like Manuel had a choice... Hmm....Marte, Cliff or Mike Jackson? Cliff or Jackson weren't here when Manuel was here. They both came last year and Manuel's last year was 2003.

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) The sound quality and reception on Sirius is inferior frankly. Which is a shame because the programming is clearly superior. Better music, better talk. Do you have XM or Sirius?

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) For me its all about Howard Stern...since I can get all my baseball. I know its differnet for you out-of-staters. They've been advertising Stern since the middle of last year and he doesn't even come until 2006.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) Get Sirius and watch the hightlights on sportscenter. Sorry, I own Sirius stock! Heh, I considered it, but no MLB, no money from me!

Hampton by far, he'll win a lot more games than Milton being on Atlanta with a better ERA as well.

As an update on this, I got the MyFi recently and it works great from both the home and the car. It can also be used as a portable, the only XM receiver at this time which can do that. BestBuy currently has it on sale for 299.99 with a free basic installation for the car. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1093468786483

Good passer, good shooter, not very strong. He'll be solid, nothing great IMO. -
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) ANyone notice..Roward has his eyes closed as he is going for the ball.. Check your PMs and reply to them, especially as they regard to board guidelines.

They have them readily available throughout the ballpark at some of the promo stands in the lower concourse as well as all of the Ticket Windows.

QUOTE(giantsfankev @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Hope you guys are enjoying AJ...we don't really miss him! :-) Of course you miss him, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned him....
-
He is getting the job done right now with bad command. When he gets his command back in order, he'll be flat out nasty. No worries for me about Damaso.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) and pick up who? Hell give me a list of guys and I'll find a few.

To the fella suggesting that Pablo Ozuna should be starting over Crede, consider that Ozuna is pretty much minor league fodder while Crede has been a MVP at two different levels in the minors. Had Ozuna not raked the ball in Tucson, he wouldn't even be on the team. I'll support Crede because he plays hard and puts in the effort. As long as I see that from any player on the Sox, I'll be a supporter.

Attention all posters: If you want to get yourself hated and become one of the more annoying posters around, start a thread like this....

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Is that the best argument you can make? The fact that the C was not Mauer but someone else? Who gives a flying F? It doesn't change ANYTHING about the play! That's got to be one of the dumbest F'g arguments I've ever heard. No you can't send Iggy because Mauer's not the C. Get a F'g brain. I'd lay off the get a f'g brain comments.... Just a suggestion.... -

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) You need to get a clue. You over rate Joe all the time. It's sickening to the point you resemble Cub fans. He's not very good. Not with the bad or the glove. Maybe in your mind he is but he hasn't proven a thing in either dept on the field. Yeah that's why you don't like the numbers. They don't lie. They tell the truth. No room for delusional thinking there. Do yourself a favor. Look up Joe's ZR & compare it to other 3B. Choose either LT or 2005. He's among the worst. Not the best. Who cares about zone rating? The only person I've ever heard mention it is you. It's not talked about anywhere else that I've ever seen. It's some worthless stat that you use to advance your ridiculous opinions that no one agrees with. If you'd ever read over your posts, you sound like some statistical bot that posts stats and nothing else. BTW, how did Mauer look behind the plate yesterday? -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) The sad thing is that no one is mentioning the excellent defensive play that should have resulted in the CS at 3B of Torii Hunter by covering his line to the base. Hunter never got his foot on the bag, (as Joe had it perfectly blocked) and Crede had the tag down, but the ump just flat out missed it. It was certainly a gutsy play sticking his leg there, he could've been spiked very easily. But hell, just forget about that, f***ING CREDE LOST THE GAME FOR US! I'll be rooting for Joe and when he gets off, all of the haters better stay off of the bandwagon.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Hey Captain Stat, take a look at the box score. Mauer wasn't catching. So much for seeing the play. But ... you know better I'm sure. -

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Get a clue. Learn something about baseball besides goddamn stats. Yea, either that or go work for Billy Beane. Sometimes common sense overrides statistics, ever think of that, Mr. Juggy?
