  1. Get used to it, Matt. There's more ass kickings to come. Hopefully Moore, Hummel, Martin and Johnson realize that the Hoosiers will be ready to own you all again next season as well. Now I just can't wait until we play Iowa.

  3. We need a Buehrle deal. make it happen k-dub. If you don't want to go more than 4 years, then offer him 4 years and 60 as a starting price.
  4. QUOTE(PAUL KONERKO 14 @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Pedro Lopez for some reason comes to my mind when I think about this. He's been a great career hitter in the minors, and he's only 22. I don't agree one bit on that. The reason Lopez is so limited as a prospect is that he doesn't project to be that good of a hitter at the MLB level. In fact he's one of the best defensive guys we have in the minors yet he's held back by a weak stick IMO.
  5. Thanks for asking me to be on the show Jas. Some friend you are. See if Heads and I help you out if you need a guest host sometime.
  6. I'd agree on Shelby, I'm gonna watch him closely this coming season. Those that have seen him from around here which I have spoken to, which there are a few, really like this kid. I'm hoping he can emerge this season as our 2B of the future and am optimistic he could move to high-A this year.

  9. I'm just hoping IU can stay close in this one. OSU seems to have the advantage in every facet of the game. One thing IU has done well is defend the three, which Ohio State loves to shoot the three. IU has been in every game thus far, but I expect this to be the toughest test to date by far. Need someone other than DJ to step up and have a big game to have a chance to pull the upset. As far as how the Hoosiers have played thus far this year, I couldn't be happier. They lack a true scorer, but their defense has been outstanding all season long. Great coaching, which is something we haven't seen in a while and the guys are playing really hard, another thing we haven't seen in a while. Heading in the right direction thanks to KS.

  11. I wouldn't even want Clemens. He'd probably show up in June like he did the past two seasons and we'd have to play catch up the rest of the year (like Houston) just to have a shot at the playoffs. That said, this isn't even a possibility, so I'm baffled as to why it's even being thrown around.
  12. QUOTE(scotty22hotty @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Buehrle is worth less than Garcia That was a worthless post.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Oh, don't take me so literally. You're a huge MB fan and I was tweaking you on that. I prefer a Buehrle apologist. Thank you very much.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) Aboz in favor of trading Mark? That'll be the day! If we deal him, unless we get back a MLB ready starter, we are looking at 2004 all over again with a Roulette Wheel rotation, at least that's the way I see it. Garland Contreras Vazquez ????? ????? Throw in the fact that Vazquez is not that good and our pitching could be awful.
  15. I still don't prefer trading him before the season starts. In a sense it would be a White Flag deal for the 2007 campaign and could really look bad for the organization. This is a pivotal year for us to get back into the playoffs (Thome isn't getting any younger, Dye will be a FA and Crede's future is uncertain) and I don't see us doing it by trading away two veterans like Garcia and Buehrle. Tough spot for KW.
  16. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) First if all KW could get for Garcia is Gio and Floyd, then he I don't think he'll be able to get Pelfrey and Milledge for Buehrle. Second, that would be a give up on the 2007 season. I think it is a bit too early to white flag the 2007 season. And I can't imagine why anyone would be in favor of tanking a season where you know you'll be in contention in favor of maybe contending in future seasons. I say "maybe" because we would be banking on prospects and prospects are iffy by their very nature. Garcia is older than Buehrle, has more wear and tear on his arm and isn't as good of a pitcher. I'm fairly certain we could get two top tier prospects for Buehrle.
  17. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) What are you talking about? Arbitration? We've already bought out his arbitrartion years. He's got the right to be a FA after 07'. You can still offer a player arbitration and he has the chance to accept it. Otherwise, he files for free agency and is free to negotiate with any team.
  18. QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) I totally agree with that. It is ludicraist the dollar amount of some of these contracts. A fair extension would have to be over 100 million becuase that's what the market is. I don't see the Sox EVER doing such a thing espically given thier history with pitchers. Fans could not be disappointed at the organization if Buehrle was offered a long term deal for 6 years and around 80 million, turned it down and then was dealt. I know I would not be. A fair deal doesn't mean pay market value to me, it means make the guy a deal that will set his family up for life and is fair to both parties involved. In this case, I think that's what we need to do, as hard as it is for me to admit.
  19. Even though I'm his biggest supporter, we need to offer Buehrle a fair extension right now, if he doesn't want to sign it, start working the phones for the highest bidder. Maybe we can pry Pelfrey and Milledge from the Mets if they are desperate enough.
