  1. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 02:45 AM) Not that your post matters whatsoever, but Sisco and Floyd were no longer prospects after being in the majors for as long as they both have. All publications, including futuresox should not and will not include either of these two in 2007 White Sox top prospect lists. Agreed 100%
  2. Jas, Dan, Heads, anyone...Where will Shelby start in 2007?
  3. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) My favorite BMac moment was when he spot started for El-duque in 2005 vs the Cubs and shut them down!! And we lost that game. Sorry folks, Mac is gonna get shelled in Texas.
  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) Very true, but they were also maybe the least deserving NT winner ever. Not to mention they have been a huge disapointment so far this season. Like Denny Green, I'm not ready to crown them. Dumbest comment I've ever heard. Least deserving ever? They won 6 games in a row and won the championship. How were they not deserving? They looked pretty damn dominant to me whenever I watched them and I'd say they have a pretty legit shot to win it all again this year.
  5. Mariotti is a clueless prick. He's got no idea what the hell he's talking about. Danks>Mac, bottom line. I believe some people wanted the BA scouting reports on Danks and Masset. Here ya go: IF they have a chance to still make revisions before the BA Prospect Handbock goes to press, which I am guessing they will, Danks will now be our No. 1 in my opinion, followed by Sweeney, Fields and then most likely Gio.
  6. I'll take the deal. Danks should be a solid pitcher in the near future. More importantly, we've now got Gio and Danks for when MB leaves as lefties to add into the rotation. And it sounds like we got another plus arm for the pen. I liked Mac a lot, but I think his ceiling is a No. 3 and he'll most likely get shelled in Texas throwing in that park, then again, who doesn't?
  7. Just turned 37 and its seems like he's been hurt for a long, long time. Had he stayed healthy, I'd say he'd be close to 700 by now. Sadly for the Reds they still owe him 25 mil over the next 2 years and a ton of deferred salary at 4% interest down the road. Yikes.
  8. Got off early yesterday at 3 and don't work again til Tuesday.
  9. The "protection" you speak of can easily be broken. There are several programs which you can utilize to copy the discs and they are the same quality as the original. I think my collection of over 500 DVDs before I cancelled Netflix can speak for that. My buddy has well over 1200 DVDs and is still going strong.

  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope its a good one.
  12. I'd hit it. And so would the rest of you.
  13. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) This tells me all i need to know right here. Certainly both Sampson and EJ handled it poorly IMO. Hard to be a well respected coach when your conference already can't stand you... Sampson and Izzo are good friends, so there goes your argument that his conference can't stand him. The other guys I could really care less about, most of them have accomplished nothing, mainly Painter and Amaker who will be fired if he doesn't reach the tourney this year. So it won't matter if he likes KS or not, he'll be at a small school just happy to earn a paycheck or an assistant somewhere.
  14. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) Until they realize how bad of a coach Sampson actually is, 0 NBA players. He's never been anywhere that he can recruit the talent he can recruit at IU before. Although I do think he turned Najera from a project into a guy who is still earning a NBA paycheck. That'll change rather quickly, first with DJ, then EJ and more to follow, most likely Jamarcus Ellis as well. Word is he could be one year and done at IU.
  15. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) Good point, but I wonder how you would react if the situation was reversed. And don't tell me that you wouldn't feel the same way, etc. because you have no idea how you would react. No doubt I'd be pissed, but at the player and not the coach. And to me it's really hard to be angry with an 18 year old kid for a prolonged period of time. Kids change their minds all of the time. EJ will have to hear enough when he visits Champaign next season. My prediction is it will be nothing short of ugly based on comments I have read from Illini fans on other message boards online. I just don't blame KS for coming in and doing everything he can to start getting kids from Indiana to come to IU. He missed out on Moore, Hummel, Martin and Johnson and the Gordon recruitment was important for stopping the long line of kids who are leaving the state (Oden, Conley, James, McRoberts, Courtney Lee to name a few). It will probably be the start of a reversal of fortune for IU keeping in-state talent.
  16. We still need a 4th outfielder and a leadoff man (or a good year from Pods) IMO. That said, there is still time for KW to make some small moves to tinker with the club. I like our pitching and our bullpen will also be a lot better. Right now I still like Detroit and I also think Cleveland will be much improved. Losing Liriano will really hurt Minnesota and I don't think Cuddyer can have the same year in 2007 that he had in 2006. Ask me after February and I'll have a better answer.
  17. Rex, it's just Sour Grapes for all of the ILL fans that they lost Gordon. For those in the know of the situation, it's pretty evident that EJ grew up an IU fan and simply didn't want to play for Mike Davis and rightfully so. Davis was horrible at IU, what stud like Gordon would want to go there and receive no coaching and no discipline? When the switch was made, the GORDON family put out feelers to IU that he wanted to be recruited and things went from there. Unfortunately ILL fans have nothing better to do than to cry over this situation that is over and done with now that EJ is signed and delivered to IU. I realize the frustration from Illini fans, but after a while, just get over it. Making excessive phone calls is not an indication that someone is a bad person or unethical. Do these people not realize that this goes on EVERYWHERE? Bottom line is Kelvin Sampson is a very likable guy who has busted his ass to work his way up the coaching ranks and get to where he is right now. Reading his personal story will tell you of a man who is self-made and put in the work to get where he is today. Those who know him personally would tell you that he goes out of his way to do nice things for people and is one of most friendly guys out there among coaches. Although I like several of the ILL fans that frequent here and talk to them regularly, hopefully we can put this to rest as time goes on and everyone can realize that it's over and done with. To sit here and attack Kelvin Sampson over and over is ridiculous and unwarranted. Show some class and rise above it rather than re-hashing this nonsense over and over.
  18. Blockbuster Online has surpassed Netflix, IF you are a frequent renter. You can return the movies to a local store and therefore, be shipped more movies the next day. Netflix will throttle you if you return movies too quickly. At first they'll pretty much give you good service and then after you're there for a while, bam, you'll notice longer waiting times and fewer new releases. Happened to me after about 8-9 months and eventually I dropped the service. If interested, google Netflix Throttling, there's a ton of information out there.
  19. Leaving that much money on the table would be ridiculous for Oden. He's easily be worth 50 mil to Nike or Adidas after this year. No way he passes that up.
  20. It's not a competition, McCarthy is the No. 5 and by season's end I expect him to be the 3rd or 4th starter in terms of statistics.

  22. Welcome back man, take care of yourself and hope all is well.
  23. IU needs another scoring option but their defense has been nothing short of impressive thus far. They've got three losses (at Duke, at UK and neutral court to Butler), but they've only been by a combined 13 points which is not too bad. I'd like to see them to continue to win at home and then steal a few on the road if possible in conference play. Tonight Keeling (out of nowhere) and Bassett really stepped up and AJ had a nice game as well. I think if they can get either Ratliff or Wilmont to become a reliable second option (which both are capable but haven't been consistent at all), DJ continues to get comfortable and they continue to play good defense, they could be in a dogfight with ILL, MSU and Purdue for 3rd in the Big 10. Big win tonight though, that's the best they've looked collectively all season IMO and hopefully under KS's tutilage they continue to improve and learn the new system.
