Not surprising to see Crede there at all. Out of all of the players in MLB with 30 hrs this past year, he had the lowest OBP and drew the fewest walks. Not good. 28 walks for an entire season is just ugly IMO. Don't get me wrong, I love Crede and think he's great, I'm just not as high on him as some of the other Soxtalkers...cough...greasy....cough....soxnbears...cough....illinikrush..

Rutgers, lol, what a joke. -
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) i tend to doubt the veracity of the report, primarily because of the louisville mention. i know louisville was dar's top school for a long while, but i didn't think they had any schollies left after goode committed. i could be wrong, though. however, since jordan crawford (once thought an iu lock) is now delaying his announcement, maybe sampson is making a late push for tucker. U of L has scholarships left, but Tucker and Goode play similar positions, U of L was ready to take Tucker, he wasn't ready to commit, they took Goode and then Tucker didn't want to go there anymore (most likely due to the fact that he'd really have to bust ass to start immediately at U of L), as simple as that.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) SOunds like a text book case of strep to me. That's what I think, easily treated with an antibiotic. I'd say go to the doctor, especially now that you say you're coughing up green stuff.

What was your old job and what's your new job, just out of curiousity.

IU health center isn't bad at all. I went a few times when I was in school when I couldn't make it home to get to the doctor and they were always friendly and helpful. If you don't feel well soon, I'd go regardless just to make sure you don't have it.

Don't wait 30 days, do it today.

So what stops a team from putting in an outrageous bid and then not even attempting to sign the player?

Looks like the Hoosiers are gonna have to win at Purdue. -
This guy doesn't seem like much more than Spring Training filler to me.

For all of the crap I gave BA early on last season, he really grew into one of my favorite players on the roster as the season went on. His results were not always there, but as far as giving a great effort every game, I think you can argue BA gave as much as anyone on the roster. I think we'd be making a huge mistake to give up on him completely following his first season, but there seems to be something that Ozzie doesn't like about the guy. What that is, we may never know. I will stick by my statements that Anderson is already one of the top 5 or 6 defensive CF in all of baseball and that he does have upside offensively if he can make his swing a lot shorter. And I do mean a lot. He really needs some work. Unfortunately I think there is a really good chance that BA is either dealt or put on the backburner by the Sox going into 2007 with Sweeney having an early edge at the CF spot if the Sox stay in house or Figgins being a realistic option for the Sox via trade.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) The Ville beats WVU. What a great game. I hope they get to the title game just so Michigan or Ohio State can dismantle them and I won't have to listen to all of the jackasses in this city complain that they didn't get a fair shot at the national championship. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Well I'm getting s*** from Cards fans already... Link them to the linescores from this past summer when we raped them.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) I was at 2 of 3 games at the Cell, and while the regular season is totally different from playoff baseball, but there is not much doubt we would have steamrolled over the Cards in the playoffs..... I mean look at the scrap heap roster. Aaron Miles? White Sox trash. Jeff Weaver? Preston Wilson? We would have had a field day with these clowns. Leyland should be embarassed after beating two good teams like Oakland and New York and then losing to a AAA team. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) The White Sox f***ed themselves. You can say we could've beat anyone in the playoffs all you want, but it didn't happen and we didn't get there. That's no one's fault but the Sox. Yes indeed and after seeing this, I can't wait to get to next season and see the Sox get back to work.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) As I told Illinikrush last night, with the way everyone has played this postseason, our team on talent alone could have ran through the playoffs. Unfortunately, we decided to suck it up the 2nd half and we get to watch this team win it all. It honestly bugs me more this year than passed years to see the World Series champion just celebrate because I know what it feels like and I miss that feeling already. Exactly how I feel. Had the same type of conversation with my Dad recently. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) It blows the Sox are watching this on TV right now, but I have a hard time taking anything away from the Cards. They got the rings. Hey I'm not taking anything away, they won, but the fact of the matter is that the stats prove they are the worst team to ever win the series and we did maul them when we played head to head this year. That's pretty much all I'm saying. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) Can I ask why when there is a cinderella story in the NCAA tourney, everyone loves them, but the Cards pull off the huge upset in the playoffs, and its horrible... I think I'm just mad cause the team that won got mauled by us and deep down I know the Sox were better than both of these teams. It just eats at me inside. -
This is comical, the Cardinals wouldn't even be a playoff team in the AL and they win it. Worst team to ever win the Series by far.

The Cardinals are horrible, how they even made the World Series is beyond me. They looked like a Triple-A team at the Cell this past summer. That was maybe the worst World Series I've ever seen, wait, no, it definitely was.
