  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) He'll be gone this offseason, I'm very confident of that. His 4.30 ERA in the International League is awful. Our minor league development continues to be very disappointing. Gone right now would be better. Send him on a Greyhound back to Charlotte or California, whichever he chooses.
  2. Wow is he awful. How any of you guys thought this guy was actually a prospect is beyond me. I wouldn't even list him in the top 20. He can't throw a strike to save his life. Who cares how "great" his "stuff" is if he can't get the ball over the plate. Get this guy OUT OF HERE for good.
  3. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) I keep reading reports about Crede's back, and how he will probably need offseason surgery. He has missed 3 games and nothing has been said about how long he will be out. He just received a cortisone shot, so I assume they are checking to see if he gets some relief from the shot, but how effective can he be if his back is hurting that bad? With Charlotte's season over, could we be seeing Josh Fields at 3B in the near future? To answer your second question, yes, if Crede can't come back real soon, expect Fields to be in the lineup at 3B. The Sox can't survive with a guy like Mack, Cintron or Ozuna defensively at 3B for an extended period. As far as Crede's injury, everything I have read seems to indicate that this is same thing Crede has dealt with over the past few seasons and Guillen is listing this as more of a precautionary thing so that Crede is ready for the stretch run. Crede, however, had an interesting quote about the injury and the possibility of surgery yesterday: "I never want to have surgery on anything, especially in the back area," Crede said. "But they sound pretty confident that it's a small surgery, that it won't have any long term effects. They say it will make you feel better, but there's also other stuff that could go wrong with it, too. ... It's something I obviously want to avoid but if it comes to it, it comes to it." My guess is he will be back within the next 2-3 games and try to play out the season. This definitely seems like something he's going to need to get taken care of though otherwise he is a big risk for us if we want to sign him to a long term deal.
  4. WHo cares what this Canadian turd has to say? Win something and then talk, moron.
  5. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) No ryan sweeney. Pablo starting in LF again. I'm really bummed out now. It was highly unlikely his first start would have come against a lefty anyhow. We could see him in the game though if we can get to the KC pen.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) Is Kyle Snyder a former White Sox minor leaguer? His name looks familiar He used to pitch for Kansas City, but no I don't recall him ever being in our system.
  7. • Monday: White Sox (RHP Jon Garland, 16-4, 4.47) at Red Sox (RHP Julian Tavarez, 2-4, 4.90), 6:05 p.m. CT • Tuesday: White Sox (RHP Javier Vazquez, 11-8, 4.98) at Red Sox (LHP Kason Gabbard, 0-3, 6.35), 6:05 p.m. CT • Wednesday: White Sox (RHP Jose Contreras, 11-7, 4.23) at Red Sox (RHP Kyle Snyder, 4-3, 5.94), 6:05 p.m. CT Wow. Great pitching for Boston.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) I've been meaning to ask - where does one find the announced lineups prior to gametime anyway? Sometimes the radio announces them, sometimes on Reifert's blog and then on MLB gameday.
  9. Sweeney needs to get a start very soon. Otherwise, he should have remained in Charlotte to help them with their playoff run. I wouldn't mind seeing him 2-3 times a week in place of Podsednik.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) Have firefox allow popups from google.com if you haven't tried this. Tried. Doesn't do anything. Also disabled popup blocking in Firefox, turned off my Norton Internet Security, turned off the Windows Firewall...etc.

  13. Dar Tucker's two leaders are now IU and ILL. I like our chances as Gordon plays a similar position to Tucker. http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/con....asp?cid=577465
  14. Check dslreports.com if you want reviews on different ISPs from people who actually use them in your area of the country. Great resource.
  15. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Aug 30, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) I can't believe that is only $400. I also can't believe that a duo core is only 1.66 MHz. Retail is over $1000 on it from what I just read on CNET. My boss hooked me up.

  20. Gas has fallen to as low as 2.62 a gallon here. (Actually the lowest station in town is about 3 blocks from my house.) Wow.
  21. I doubt he would have even gotten to an AL team. A NL team surely would have claimed him first.
