  1. Is it okay to insert a joke about giving the finger in a foreign country here?
  2. The only way I could see us getting Urbina is if we find someone to take Koch for prospects and free up the money to get him. Otherwise, no chance.
  3. 2003 Season Early on in the year, Kris Benson appeared on his way to finally fulfilling his vast potential. After missing 2001 because of reconstructive elbow surgery, he followed up a 9-2 finish to the 2002 campaign by going 3-3 with a 2.90 ERA in his first six starts of '03. However, his season began to unravel after that. He felt pain in his shoulder and missed a start in June before being shut down for good one game after the All-Star break. Hardly a guy I'd count on next season or would want to trade for.
  4. Done with the Sox or done all together? Knowing our luck, if we cut him lose, he'd surface with the Reds (team closest to his hometown in KY) and have a stellar career.
  5. What organization was he with last season, I'd like to see if he's in the BA Prospect Handbook from last year.

  7. I am going to say none of the above because the Sox will sign a 5th starter who is not listed here or make a trade.
  8. If the guy wasn't all about money, he'd be long gone from the Sox. The fact of the matter is that he's still with us because his contract forces us to pay him more than any team in the right mind would pay him at this point in time. If he had money, he'd be playing elsewhere.
  9. What's hardest to believe out of this story to me is that the Cubune would send a writer to Las Vegas when there is no guarantee the guy will even get the chance to have a word with Frank. Looks to me that they at least wanted some sort of article out of the trip and this is the mess they print. Woulda been better off just saving themselves the embarassment of printing a stupid article like this.
  10. He's an arm injury away from retirement. Enough said.
  11. Yawn....Matt Ginter? Come on fellas, this is a sign that we don't have a lot to be excited about going into next season if you're talking about Matt Ginter turning into a decent pitcher. This guy does nothing to excite me, he was a wasted first round pick (and the Sox, like many teams, have had many.) And let's not talk about him not getting a fair chance, I can't remember a time where I actually watched a Sox game and felt comfortable with Ginter in the game. Seems like this guy is always giving up runs or getting hit hard when I've seen him.
  12. "Then again, I'd rather not cross the line from reporting to stalking." I think that line was already crossed...
  13. Thank god for MLB Extra Innings. That's all I do all summer, watch Sox games.
  14. What about Guardado? Just playing devil's advocate for a minute...

Are you kidding me...Ben Stiller wouldn't have a part in a chick flick. Guy is one of the funniest in the business, if not the funniest. Next opinion please.
  16. I know he's a Kentuckian, but I'm originally from Indiana. Anyhow, I just don't like the way Stewart pitches. He's a solid minor league pitcher, but he's simply not capable of being that great at the major league level. People compare him to Mark Buehrle, but besides that fact that he's left handed and doesn't throw very hard, I don't really see much in common between the two. Buehrle has an arsenal of pitches he can go to, while I don't see any outstanding pitch from Stewart that can get people out on a consistent basis. I'm sure Josh is a great kid, hard worker and wants to make it, but I'm simply being realistic about his chances of a great major league career. And hell, I hope I'm wrong about him, but I doubt it.

Thoughts or reviews from anyone that's seen it.... Wondering if I should go see it today on my day off.
  18. Healthy, unhealthy, whatever he is, he isn't the solution. Consider seeing Josh Stewart on the Sox roster a sign that we aren't going to be competitive this season.
  19. My highest was G Dub Guess that explains where my vote is going. Lowest was John Kerry
  20. Porzio signed with the Indians I believe. And please, don't even mention the thought of Josh Stewart starting a game for the White Sox again. The thought sickens me. :puke
  21. I would support this trade, but don't expect it to happen. If it were to happen, here's what our lineup and pitching would look like: CF - Rowand SS - Valentin DH - Thomas LF - Lee RF - Encarnacion 3B - Crede 1B - FA Signing Most Likely 2B - Harris C- Olivo Rotation: 1 - Buehrle 2 - Loaiza 3 - Perez 4 - Garland 5 - Jackson/Rauch/Cotts/Diaz/etc. Pen: Wunsch, Politte, Marte, Koch, Mota, whoever else makes the team It would strengthen pitching significantly, but we'd lose a big time run producer in Mags.
  22. I'd still be a Sox fan, regardless of location.
