Don't give up on Reece yet. I followed him closely during his career in Louisville and he still has a bright future ahead of him in the league. He's lost his confidence right now and they've stashed him on the IL. I wouldn't expect much out of him the rest of this year, but he'll be solid in the future.

and a lot of prozac

Gotta agree with Rex here. Looks like the Sox are willing to go into next season with what we've got at this point. There's nothing going on at this point in time that would lead me to believe otherwise.

Potential 3-Way Trade w/ LA and Anaheim

I wouldn't be against a deal like this, but I don't really see the Dodgers wanting PK. And the players we got for him probably wouldn't be enough to land Washburn without throwing in one of our better prospects. -
I think it's Maggs and my text isn't in green either...

Personally I like that Hey Miss Hilton song they play during the Simple Life

I have a feeling you'll only be making that trip if he lets you off his nuts for the day...

I still have my reservations but am strongly considering cancelling due to the moves (or lack thereof) this offseason. I'm a college student and a lackluster offseason from the Sox doesn't really tempt me to spend hard earned money at a part-time job on a plane ticket and 2 nights at the hyatt on the Sox as they currently stand.

I've had all-star baseball the past few seasons like some of you. EA makes the best sports games IMO, so i'm gonna give this game a chance over the new ASB thats going to come out.

Good pass Favre.

Thought you guys might be interested in this since he's been talked about before on this site. This is from ESPN's Chad Ford. Shaun Livingston, PG, Peoria, Illinois The facts: 6-7, 180 The skinny: When the best point guard in the country also happens to be 6-foot-7, talk of making a jump to the NBA is inevitable. The thing about Livingston is that, despite his size, he's a pure point guard with amazing court vision and a real flair to his game. He snuck down to Hoops Gym in Chicago this summer to play with several NBA players, and word was he more than held his own. While fans will love his artistry with the basketball, scouts adore that he plays that way without being prone to turnovers. Think Jalen Rose without the selfishness. Livingston has committed to Duke, but sources claim he'll come out if he's projected to go in the lottery. Right now scouts have him right on the fence, but a strong workout or two could easily get him in.

I don't love Krause. In fact I am not even a Bulls fan nor was I ever a Bulls fan. I'm just telling you it's not a good comparison because it's two different systems. And I don't think much of Cashman either. He's given whatever he needs to win and hasn't done so the past three seasons. As far as the Cowboys thing being pulled into this, I don't follow football.

You're killin me here PA, luckily I find ya rather humorous or we'd have to go to war.

It would just be another controversy when Frank didn't show up and Ozzie had to run to the press and give another "They no play game right, they no play for me" speech. Save us the embarassment.
-
The problem comparing Cashman and Krause is that they are operating in two TOTALLY different systems. Baseball has no salary cap and Cashman has no cap on what he can spend. Krause was operating under a salary cap and was in the same playing field as a lot of other teams. For this reason, what you're saying has no validity JoshPR.

Your real guilty pleasure is the Beatles "I wanna hold your hand." Now fess up.

Just want to clarify one thing from my post. Do I believe Frank will make the hall of fame? Yes, IF he has 2 or 3 more solid seasons. If he totally tanks his last few seasons he is borderline.
-
Is Frank a great player? Of course. Is he a hall of famer? Perhaps. Is he a first ballot hall of famer? No way. The guy's had a great career. However, he's undeniably one of the worst defensive players of his era. There are two parts of the game: offense and defense. As a hitter, he's one of the best of his era. He's won 2 MVP's, but then again, never a playoff series. I've seen plenty of times he's come up empty handed in big time situations. 2000 against Seattle would be one. Last year when he had the MVP talk coming his way and then did nothing to justify it in the series at Minnesota. Add that to the fact that he's had a few subpar seasons in between and many questions arise. Also have to look at the rocky relationship he's had with the media. Remember they are the ones voting until the player goes to the Veterans Committee. I wouldn't be surprised to see Frank Thomas make the Hall of Fame, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him not make it either. Personally, he was my favorite player in the 90's for the Sox and then I lost a ton of respect for him after the contract situation that he took public. I'll be happy when he's no longer a part of the team.
