    Nomar

If Dream Weaver made less money, I'd send Mags to LA for him, Perez and Mota.
  3. Why would they send one of their good young prospects for Jose Valentin who is overpaid at 5 mil. The whole reason behind this A Rod deal is to shed payroll, so they arent going to be in the market for Jose Valentin.
  4. Then think about this for a second. If you had Freddy Garcia, would you trade him for Danny Wright. I think you know the answer to that my friend.
  5. Apparently none of the girls I meet are a part of this study...

    What are the specs

Just curious to hear what everyone is running. I'm running a P3 600 MHZ with 256 MB of RAM and a 40 Gig Hard Drive on a Dell Inspiron 5000 Laptop. Running XP Professional with the new Office 2003.
  7. Let's go ahead and start the speculation of who the pitching prospects KW will send will be. To me, I don't want Cotts or Honel in this deal. Besides that, I'd be open to mostly anything, as long as they didn't ask for too much.
  8. There's no way he's gonna be put in RF. He does have a cannon for an arm, but I'm in no way in favor of paying Manos to be a 5 million dollar right fielder.
  9. LF - Lee CF- A Row RF - Reed or Jo Bo
  10. I don't. Perez is a #3 at best, Mota is a reliever (albeit a great one) and there's no guarantee that the propsects will work out. If we're going to give up Nomar, I want proven starting pitching at the ML level.
  11. I say keep Nomar. Then let him play things out and the worst that happens is the same thing that would've happened with Mags. We get draft picks for him. If Williamson and Kim are indeed part of that deal, you deal off Koch and Valentin for basically whatever you can get for them. Maybe give Kim a shot at starting again and let Williamson close with Marte as the setup man.
  12. If we are indeed getting Nomar for Maggs, we need to go ahead and keep him. Maybe dump Valentin for anything we can get for him just to rid ourselves of that 5 million.
  13. What gets me is the people standing outside to see the movie in the freaking cold wearing LOTR t-shirts talking like this is the biggest moment of the year for them. I'm sorry, it's one thing to want to see a movie and see it on the opening day. It's totally different to pay inflated prices (I believe it was $9 where I was) and stand outside in the middle of December to see a movie and mingle among a bunch of tools who think these movies are the coolest thing ever filmed.
  14. By the way, if someone could post a list of the best starting pitchers left on the market, I'd appreciate it.
  15. Any reason Stewart has gone from a 50+ steals guy to basically not running at all?
  16. They let AJ go because of Mauer obviously, but then again, what's the rush to deal him before the season. If I was the Twins, I would have moved AJ to first base and gotten rid of Mienkiewicz. AJ's a better player if you ask me, plus he is a guy that opposing teams just hate going up against because of his attitude. I actually admire Pierzynski and the way he plays. Anyhow, the stats pretty much speak for themselves on Shannon Stewart. He's just not that good to be able to justify that salary. And it's not like he's done anything outstanding in his career except "carry" the Twins down the stretch last season. With the losses of Hawkins, Guardado, Pierzynski and others and the Sox not doing much of anything up to this point besides lose Colon, Sullivan, Graffy, Everett and Robbie, the Royals look like the team to beat in the AL Central in 2003 if you ask me. And if the Indians improve with some of their young guys and CC and Cliff Lee have good years, they could have a winning season as well. I suggest the Sox make some moves here soon or the expectations and attendance for next season will be very low.
  17. Manos for Guillen is one move we need to make if we can manage to pull it off. I would also like to see the Sox sign Ponson. I don't see the Orioles seriously chasing him, but I could be wrong.
  18. I think I'm going....wait I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see that bulls***.
  19. Why would that surprise you? Buehrle is about 3 times better than Mark Redman.
  20. Apparently all of this talk of Stewart being the piece that turned the season around for the Twins has gotten to everybody's head up in Minny and on ESPN as well. Let's put things in perspective for a minute. Sure, Stewart played great after he was dealt to the Twins, but he isn't the single reason they won the division. All of the talk of him getting MVP votes was totally ridiculous. How about just accepting the fact that the Twins pitching threw a lot better down the stretch than they did in the first half of the season and some of their key offensive guys got hot. It wasn't all Stewart. They overpaid for him and next season I don't see him having the huge year they are expecting.
  21. Put me on record that whatever team Buehrle goes to (if he ever goes elsewhere) will become favorite team 1A along with the Sox. That's how big of a Buehrle guy I am.
  22. I was at the movies tonight (not seeing LOTR) and the cult following was lining up for hours. Some advice to these sad souls: Get a damn life.
  23. Thanks for all of the nominations... So I go away for a bit and this is what I get, I see where the love is...
  24. Right now we are the 3rd best team in the division and unless we make a few key moves, Cleveland could beat us next season.
