With MB if past negotiations are any indicator, this one might end up in arbitration. I agree with Steff on this. If the Sox wouldn't lowball people on their offers, they'd be more successful. It's funny how they'll dish out all that money for Koch or Konerko yet when it comes to their young STUDS like Buehrle they are greedy as hell. If they aren't going to give Buehrle a fair deal, then why should he sign? Maybe once he leaves and goes somewhere where management appreciates him, the Sox will finally learn a freakin lesson.
-
Here's what I do with Buehrle if I am the Sox. Offer him 4 years, $30 million. (that way we can at least keep him an additional season past his service time) 2004: $5 mil 2005: $7 mil 2006: $8 mil 2007: $10 mil If they offer that, I am pretty positive he'd sign. But knowing our owner, we'd never offer anything that great to Mark B.

Kenneth, GM of the Chicago Hyatt writes: Mr. Suck, given the recent tension from Mr. Ross Beastly in this thread, should we hire extra security at the establishment on the weekend of Jan 30-Feb 1?

Fellas, let's not stray from the point of this thread. The emails are already rollin in with more questions. let's get to the next one. Jen from Bismark, South Dakota writes: Dear Mr. Cubs Suck 1, What is your most memorable moment with our beloved beastly?
-
This thread is where you can ask CubsSuck1 questions about Beastly. I've talked to my man CubsSuck1 and he's agreed to bring the posters of Soxtalk his views on the life of Mr. beastly. I'll start the thread and please, everyone feel free to join in. The first is a question submitted by email from a user in Tacoma, Washington. She writes: Have you ever witnessed Beastly walking around the school referring to himself as Beastly or saying phrases such as "MMMM that's Beastly?"

Like we know who Jimmy is or whatever his name is...

classic buddy... don't hurt yourself backpeddeling. It may seem like backpeddling. I believe everything I wrote. But what I wrote may have given the wrong impression about me... I just wanted to make sure that wasn't the case. You're alright in my book Mr. Cheat, although I'm not taking your advice to train my woman like a monkey...

I was looking at the White Sox site today and the player names they have listed are not very exciting in my opinion: Crede, Harris, Olivo and Rowand. Surely there's gonna have to be more than that. Anyone have any insight as to who else I can expect to see at my first Soxfest?

I don't want to be hated. If at all possible, I'd like to retain the minimal chance of being friends. Ignoring her won't accomplish that.

Thank you sons and co...

Not enough to be serious with her. I'd be fine with just casual dating, but she is trying to take things to another level, which I'm not in favor of at all. I don't see a compromise being worked out.

Need some advice from the posters here at Soxtalk. Been dating this girl for maybe a month now, she's trying to get far too serious and I'm really not down for that at this point. I already miss going out with my friends to the bars each weekend and having a good time and meeting other girls. I do like this girl, I'm just not ready for anything serious. Question is this (for male or female posters), what's the best way to get out of this thing with the least amount of damage done to all?

I'm looking for a chair from Old Comiskey

I'd try eBay. -
LOL! I hear ya, but I think Reinsdorf got the best of both worlds for himself on this one. He keeps his Hall of Famer around and gets the manager he wants. I just want them to get along, and if that means Frank doing the little things, he should listen. I don't see Frank listening to anyone. He's one of the most selfish specimens in the world. In fact, to an extent he's even rubbed off on some of the other members of the Sox. It's all good in theory what Ozzie said today, but unless he cracks the whip on the Big Skirt, it's all just hot air. I'm not expecting anything different from Frank until he shows something different. The chances of that are not good. We are stuck with him and I do mean STUCK with him in the worst way possible.
-
Wish they woulda announced Ozzie sooner. That way if Frank didn't like the new rules, he coulda opted out. Ya know what I always say to Frank, if you don't like it here, OPT OUT.

He probably shouldn't have even started the year in the majors after his accident. And if I remember correctly, once he did get things straightened out, he played pretty well. Even made ole 6 fingers Alfonseca regret hanging a curve to him in the 8th in that game against the Cubs when he put one in the seats. He's a gamer and he can play for my team anytime. See ya next year in Center, A-Row.

If Rowand is starting in CF again next year, that means Sox did nothing to improve team. I gotta disagree here... If you think overpaying for a centerfielder is considered an attempt to improve the team when we can use the money to get pitching, you're mistaken. Rowand's never been given a fair shot to have the job over an extended period of time and now is his time. Since he's one of KW's boys, he's gonna get the shot, like it or not. And I tend to believe he's gonna flourish given the chance. I never said anything about overpaying for anyone , I just said Rowand is NOT the answer and he has been given more than a fair chance in CF, time to cut bait. When was this so-called fair chance? Last year hitting .200 for months on end is not going to get it done. I'd say a fair chance is playing everyday for a month, which has never happened with Rowand, for various reasons.

Glad to see Cito off the banner, he never belonged there to begin with... Happy retirement Cito...

There's been no announcement by the Sox, therefore it is simply speculation.
