I agree with you totally. I want to see the Sox win as bad as anyone, but realisitically, the AL is going to come down to the Red Sox and Yankees next season. I'd still like to see the Sox go after the division, but there's no reason to panic and make stupid moves for this season when the chance is very slim that the Sox would even have a chance to make the WS. All I want to see next season is a team that is fun to watch, plays hard every game and is competitive. That, in my opinion, would be a huge difference from last season. While it's easy to sit here and rip the Sox for not making any huge moves, we've gotta go with what we've got at this point.
