Sabathia is pitching for the Indians, so this is the game they should win in the series. Should have a good chance if Jason Davis pitches a game as well. I have the game on in the other room and it's the Indians announcers who are nowhere near as annoying as Dick Bremer and Bert Blyleven, the two worst on the face of the Earth.

Konerko is still a good hitter regardless of what he's shown this season, he's gonna start playing significantly again very soon, starting this weekend. Benching him for good would be foolish at this point.

Average, Speed, Fielding, Arm strength, Power

We drafted him and we couldn't sign him cause of Bor-ass and then he went to the Cubs for less money.

I'm with you on that. Only thing I think is that they are givng up too much. I have no problem giving up prospects, especially lower level ones since so few pan out. I also know that the Sox have a ton of depth in the lower levels. Diaz, Malone and Yan would make me a lot happier though. I just think with this package the Sox could of done better. Hell, with Webster involved, how much more would it really of took to land Beltran. I agree on the Beltran thing Jas, but if they do take Webster, they're most likely not going to get Diaz or Malone and will simply get one other lower tier prospect.

Although Webster is a highly rated prospect, I think he is a bit overrated by BA considering the fact that he's never really played above A ball for a full season and his ranking is based solely on potential and an outstanding season in low A ball. That said, he is a five-tool prospect, but what's to say he will pan out? He could, but he could also end up as a wash. I tend to like both Reed and Anderson's chances better than Webster's, but hey, that's just me.

I guess the thinking was that he's still very young and Jeremy Reed is playing well in CF and we are going to plan on him being our CF of the future.

By Teddy Greenstein Tribune staff reporter July 2, 2003, 11:18 PM CDT The White Sox will have to pay only the pro-rated minimum salary of $150,000 for Carl Everett's services this season. They'll pay a far stiffer price in terms of the two or three prospects they surrender to Texas in the deal. The Rangers have until July 25 to choose from two pools of players. If they select a player from the top pool, they get only one other choice. If they choose from the second pool, they will get three picks. Sox general manager Ken Williams said he presented the "pool" idea to Rangers general manager John Hart. "You have to get creative when … there is a stalemate," Williams said. "I appreciated John's willingness to think outside the box." The Sox would not release the names of any of the eight players from which the Rangers can pick, but a major-league source disclosed the list late Wednesday. Six players are in Class A ball. One is at Triple-A Charlotte. The other is at Double-A Birmingham. The biggest name, according to the source, is outfielder Anthony Webster, whom Baseball America ranked as the organization's No. 3 prospect. The 20-year-old Webster is batting .297 for Kannapolis and ranks second in the Class A South Atlantic League in both runs scored (58) and hits (87). Another player believed to be available is pitcher Felix Diaz, who's 3-5 with a 3.71 ERA at Charlotte. The Sox acquired Diaz from San Francisco last July in the Kenny Lofton trade. Baseball America ranks him eighth, two spots behind Corwin Malone, a left-hander who's also said to be on the list. Malone, who has faltered since posting a 1.98 ERA in three minor-league stops in 2001, is 2-2 with a 7.16 ERA at Birmingham. The rest of the list, according to the source: Second baseman/outfielder Ruddy Yan: Leads the Carolina League in runs scored (62), stolen bases (45) and hits (87) and ranks seventh in average (.304). Pitcher Wyatt Allen: 5-3 with a 3.29 ERA at Winston-Salem. Ranked 24th among organization's prospects. Pitcher Josh Rupe: 4-3 with a 5.09 ERA at Kannapolis. Ranked 26th by Baseball America. Pitcher Frankie Francisco: 5-3 with a 4.11 at Winston-Salem. Ranked 29th. Pitcher Rick Hummel: 2-3 with a 1.47 at Kannapolis.

The main pitchers I didn't want included are: Wing, Rauch, Honel and Cotts. Anyone besides those guys I wouldn't be too upset with. I agree with Jas, I think Malone will probably go and another name I could see going is Arnie Munoz or possibly Josh Stewart.
-
I guess it'll depend on if they are going by the BA list or not.
-
I think he's number 11 on this year's BA list.

A typical "tool" of a Twins fan. Too bad he won't have anything to write about after the regular season is over...

This is where the true Sox fans are, not the ESPN site. And for that, we love Soxtalk.

I don't care, I just think it's funny that all of the ants are coming out of the woodwork now that we're winning. I'd say roughly 80-90% of all Chicago baseball fans (if not all fans... Chicago sports fans are really bad, IMO) are pretty much just fair-weather fans (we haven't won nothing in 80+ years, I don't blame them if baseball ain't a passion)... As long as they favor the Sox, they're cool... Not that I'm calling anyone a fairweather fan, but a bandwagon jumping Sox fan is still a Sox fan. Id say 80. I know many die hard fans, and im one of them. I consider myself one too considering I went out to the ballpark for the series when we lost 2 of 3 to Detroit. Does it get any worse than that?

You aren't bothering me at all bro, I welcome new members just like everyone else... Welcome aboard

There is nothing wrong with new members. Theyre welcome. Okay Mother Teresa. Jesus f***ing Christ, dude, get off your high horse. I'll take that into consideration my friend.

Agreed. And Willie can play, what most people call, defense. I don't know what Jimenez does, but that sure as hell isn't defense. I can get all the balls that come within 3 feet of me too. I can also run the bases about as well as Jimenez can. Willie can fly, he can play a little OF, he can play 2B pretty well, he's got some pop in his bat(as much as DJ does), he can bunt, he tries, he isn't a cancer in the clubhouse, and he plays with heart. You tell me how much of that DJ can do, aside from having pop in his bat....and I'd probably have to call you a liar. DJ is a talent, but until he plays with passion and plays hard every single play, he is only going to be a mediocre player at the big league level.

Where are all of these new frontrunner posters coming from? Jas, your thoughts?
-
Spoken like a true rookie leaguer....
-
If he's that bad in the clubhouse and would complain about his lack of PT, I wouldn't. Willie is simply happy to be in the majors and doesn't expect much.
-
The only things I liked about D'lo were hearing his music when he came to the plate and his game winning hit versus the Cubs.

I think this was a big quote coming for Mags. He is our quiet leader and for him to step up and say this actually meant something while the rest of the team was making excuses.

Hopefully no one, I like our rotation as it is now. Even if Loaiza slows down, here's how I see the rotation the rest of the way. #1 - Buehrle #2 - Colon #3 - Loaiza #4 - Garland #5 - Wright
