What a horrible waste of baserunners, we've still got this one though as long as Josh doesn't give up anymore long balls.
-
When they realized that our main competition to win the central this season is the Royals Can't wait to pound them at the Cell next week. MB starting on Tuesday will be our statement game for that series.
-
I like it, but where's our hero Magglio?
-
Anyone have today's lineup... I know it's kinda early, but I figured someone might have it. Thanks
-
Buehrle on the bump, hopefully he'll pitch well again.

"I know we'll be in first place by the time I get back and I just want to be able to help the club as soon as I can,'' Milton said. "I'm not out of the mix for this year.'' What a pompass asshole. That needs to go up in the Sox clubhouse and when we pound their ass, he'll be eating that quote.
-
Around the Horn sucks compared to PTI.
-
1) We are in the mix for someone other than the guys who have been dealt or signed today (Ortiz, Byrd) 2) We're going to make a trade 3) KW is sitting there with no intention of doing anything Your guess is as good as mine!
-
I say we sign Ramiro Mendoza. I think he can be effective and would come at a pretty cheap price.
-
I'm kinda glad we didn't get Ortiz after all of the rumors of Konerko. I'll stick with what we have and let it develop. If we don't sign anyone, oh well. Let the young guys play. I applaud KW for holding off if the deal wasn't right.

Although this is already on another thread, I wanted to make sure everyone sees it. By Jayson Stark ESPN.com NASHVILLE -- The Giants' party was scheduled to leave the winter meetings and fly home Monday night. Instead, they changed their flights, checked back into their rooms and were talking about potential deals involving Russ Ortiz. The most likely destination for Ortiz at the moment: the White Sox, for prospects. The Giants are over budget. And Ortiz will make $4.2 million next year. Coincidentally, Edgardo Alfonzo just signed a deal in which his salary next year, counting his prorated signing bonus, happens to be $4 million. ----------------------------------------- Personally, I think the Giants are stupid for signing Durham and Fonzie if it means they have to trade Ortiz. To me, Schmidt and Ortiz are the two best pitchers the Giants have. Obviously, no one wants Livan Hernandez and I guess they'd like to keep Rueter. It will be interesting to see who could be a part of this deal. I am just glad to see that it looks as though they won't be trading any established players for Ortiz, although I wouldn't mind giving up Lee to get him. Maybe Corwin Malone and Stewart for Ortiz. Hopefully the Sox won't trade anyone like Honel as a part of this deal. Ortiz could definitely be a solid #2 starter for the Sox and he has playoff experience. Here's a look at what Ortiz has done the past four seasons: 1999 - 18-9 (3.81 ERA) in 207.1 innings pitched; 164 K; 125 BB 2000 - 14-12 (5.01 ERA) in 195.2 innings pitched; 167K; 112 BB 2001 - 17-9 (3.29 ERA) in 218.2 innings pitched; 169K; 91 BB 2002 - 14-10 (3.61) in 214.1 innings pitched; 137K; 94 BB Perhaps a little better than Todd Ritchie.

I'm beginning to think you work for KW
-
If you want Frank the skank to play the field, be my guest. I won't be at commiskey to see it though. If Ichiro hits a grounder, we'll be s*** out of luck.
-
Compared to what guys like Thome and Giambi have gotten, it's a steal. It's not above my realm of expectations to expect 30 HR and 110+ RBI seasons out of PK for the next three seasons. At just over 7 mil, I'll take that.
-
I'd rather give up a good prospect and Lee opposed to dealing PK. PK is our leader in the clubhouse and was an all-star last season. Trading him doesn't make sense AT ALL.
-
And as a fan, you have the right to expect a competent person running the team. Trading PK is not a competent move and most Sox fans would agree with that. Of course I'd still love the Sox, but hell, why trade away a fan favorite who is relatively cheap. Think about it.
-
There is no similar replacement to PK, he is the man on this team besides Mags and Buehrle. I'd rather give them Frank and pay Frank's salary than trade them Konerko.
-
It would be the White Flag trade part II and the season hasn't started yet!
-
I'm not sure what they're thinking, but I think they're stupid.
-
Quit talking about Kent, we aren't going to get him. Case closed.
-
Give them Malone, Sanders and whoever else they want besides Diaz/Honel/Borchard and I'm fine. Just don't trade Konerko!
-
Can anyone confirm that Gammons actually said that we were 100% trading for Ortiz?
-
If we trade PK, mail in my tenure as a Sox fan because I'm done.
