He's also already 24, which is kinda old for A ball. Ring is pitching at a higher class and with nearly the same effectiveness. Meaux is a fringe prospect at best for the Sox, but his numbers are indeed good. He could pan out as a lefty specialist one day, but I highly doubt it.

I think you're on the money, July would be a good time for his arrival and hopefully he's ready by then. Of course I wouldn't mind seeing him the minute he is ready
-
I'll take the wins.
-
He'll heat up soon enough, he's too talented not to.
-
Priceless use of Flash, I was laughing my ass off.

With the recent struggles of the Sox, I've tried to keep positive by thinking of Borchard, who I think is going to be a star for the Sox. Here's the latest on JB: .256 avg, 2 HR, 15 RBI, 4 doubles, .385 Slugging, .289 OBP Let the Borchard watch begin and let's hope he gets hitting better very soon.

Hawk and DJ are on the air, let's get this rolling.

Here are the lineups: Mariners Suzuki, RF McLemore, 3B Boone, 2B Martinez, DH Olerud, 1B Cameron, CF Winn, LF Guillen, SS Davis, C Sox Jimenez, 2B Harris, CF Thomas, DH Ordonez, RF Konerko, 1B Valentin, SS Lee, LF Crede, 3B Olivo, C Franklin vs. Loaiza

My thoughts exactly, who cares what this asshole has to say? He's one pompous SOB. abo...you did not just replace buerhle with zito in your av :finger It's Foulke, my favorite Sox player for a long time, who KW traded away from a piece of trash. It's helping me get over that travesty to see Keith again.
-
If they want a proven closer, they won't be trading for Botch. More likely would be Billy Wagner, who is a FA after this season and the Astros have Dotel or Lidge who are both good enough to close right now.
-
How would it benefit Boston? They'd have no leadoff hitter and a s***ty closer.

If Manuel lasts all season, we won't be in the playoffs. That's my prediction and you can take it to the bank. In terms of a successor, I'm all for Backman or an in-house replacement.

Another perfect example of why KW sucks as a GM. There was no reason to even make this comment in the first place. You don't tell a guy he has nothing to worry about, it puts no pressure on him to succeed.

From this article: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...sox%2Dheadlines How did Sox general manager Ken Williams react to the report? "After I got done laughing," he said, "I felt no need to talk to [Manuel] about it because we've already talked about all the issues concerning the ballclub. So he doesn't have to listen to any reports or read any newspapers ... to know what's on my mind." Williams stuck by his pledge not to offer updates on Manuel's status. "Look at your notes from last year and you will see," he said. Last July Williams proclaimed that Manuel would not be fired in the 2002 season "or next [season]." He also said it would be his last ever so-called vote of confidence because the first time he didn't offer one, people would jump to conclusions. So does Williams' statement about "next [season]" still apply? "What I said [last year] is what I said," he said. -------- If this is the case, mail it in. Ridiculous, JM needs to go regardless of what KW said or what he didn't say. Hopefully JR steps over KW on this one and pulls the trigger.
-
Bartolo and Buehrle prefer to be caught by Alomar, that's why we'll continue to see him.
-
Manuel really didn't show any balls, he just showed common sense because he knows if the Sox keep losing, he will be done. It really wasn't a tough move IMO, it had to be done.
-
I believe Harris will be given a month or so to show what he can do and if he sucks, the Sox are probably hoping Borchard will be ready by then.
-
I couldn't believe it when I was watching. To think, this guy really does have a pulse.
-
And Graffy is the 3B in place of Crede... I hate this giving everyone a chance to play BS. Put the best lineup out there you dumb f***.
-
Any thoughts on who it would be if Koch lost the role or was placed on the DL...
-
And you can put that on the board....
-
After a quick glance at the stats, he could be talking about Rowand, Konerko, Thomas and maybe Garland's poor pitching. Who knows. JM needs to show some balls and get this ship going in the right direction.
-
And after he gets bombed in his MLB debut, you'll be calling for more seasoning in the minors.
-
Apparently not willing to be fined for criticizing an umpire, Crede was succinct in his assessment of the situation. "It was a foul ball. He said it was a foul ball," Crede said. "It's a foul ball. That's it." When asked how he thought the call changed the momentum of the game, Crede said: "Well, it was a foul ball. I've never seen a foul ball change the momentum of the game. It's a foul ball. I don't know why you keep bringing it up. It was a foul ball." ---- Come on Joe, it was fair, I saw the replay
