it seems they are the majority though.
-
that is all cool sideshow, but I can't stand people who just protest and complain and don't really do anything about it. its seems like people rather take the easy way out and complain rather than put a little effort behind their disputes and make something happen.

how can people live, reside, go to school and work in this country then go and do s*** like this? If you are against the U.S. that much you should get booted the f*** out. It is so f***ing sad how many babies we have in this country. None of them are smart enough to actually do something productive with their complaints, instead they protest and burn flags. I don't understand how stupid people can be. is protesting and burning the flag really going to fix things you believe are wrong? strangely enough, they believe so.

unlike other parks though, it is hard to get the ballots. maybe it is just me, but I always have a hard time finding the ballots at USC.

I agree that people have their own opinion and can make their opinion known, but I also think if you are gonna live in this country you gotta support its decisions. I find it funny how all these anti-war protestors, at least in Chicago, think Bush is ignoring all American's plea. They are suggesting that a good majority of Americans are against this. Although I agree some American's are against it, I also believe a good majority is either for or indifferent to it. Only difference is pro-war protests aren't happening all over. People see 5,000 people or so protesting and think, "wow, that is a lot". Well, what about the remaining millions of people? One question I want to see asked though is this: are people against war in general or just this war against Iraq? BTW, I just saw the film showing Iraqi people ripping Hussien pictures down and greeting US soliders with open arms. sure that can be a bit biased, but biased or not, it clearly happened.

I disagree Baggs. I don't think he's totaly figured out AAA pitchers yet. I DO think he can come up and produce some type of numbers, but they won't be anything special. keep him down for a couple months and let him get his swing down pat. once that happens, bring him up and play him, not start him, but in a platoon sit or something.

we're aware of that heather. trust us, this was a long and hard thought out process with several phone calls and questions. I brought that whole situation up and explained our fear of that happening again in conversations plenty of times, and the responses we recieved were pretty straight foward and understandable. they explained to us the rivals situation and didn't in anyway tried to cover up their relation to it or change subjects. I don't know if they would like me to explain the reason for all that, so I would rather not out of respect. this may turn out to be a bad move, of course this could also lead to something bigger. we'll never know unless we try.

nobody has really ever trolled on this board and I don't expect it to happen when we move. if so, we'll make sure to get them before hand. this isn't like ESPN, all the sites on the baseball network will be working together so no wars should happen.
-
if I were to do that, I'd have my family kicking my ass because one thing I've guarenteed everyone is that I will NEVER charge and have people deal with registration and popups. if we charge Alex, find my address and give it to everyone on this board so they can all kick my ass.
-
yeah SoxFest, your cause for concern is understandable, but me and jason PROMISE nothing like that will happen to the site. And as everyone knows here, we don't bulls*** people around, we promise that. if they ever pull that on us, we will be out of there ASAP.
-
michelle, the links will remain www.soxnet.net and www.soxtalk.com it will just be under that network.
-
that's cool HSC. me and jason are gonna answering a ton of questions through the boards here during the next few days, so hopefully everything will be answer. I just want to explain this on air because its a little easier to say stuff and hear someone as opposed to writing it down and reading it.
-
HSC, you don't have to worry about what you say. we will have full control of the boards and will keep the rules the same. unfortunately the message board will be switched, but we won't be using that until we, actually jason, fix it up and have it looking good. none of the posts will transfer but we will reregister each and everyone of you guys and email everyone a password. this board won't be shut down though. we will keep this up, it'll probably be located at www.chisport.com, till everyone gets settled in. We'll keep everyone posted on when things will happen. the main site will probably be moved before the board. I'm thinking we will move the soxtalk boards to the network by mid-april or so. we are gonna try to add links to make navigation easier as well HSC. also, the network has a chat room so we will have a chat room as soon as we settle in over there. This is a really big move for us and will take time so we apoligize for any bumps we have along the way and hope everyone stays patient. please feel free to ask questions though. we will try to make this move as smooth as possible and keep everyone here happy.

hey guys, after a week off me and jeff are gonna be back on air tonight on chisport radio, which is now A LOT easier to listen too. instead of going to chisport, then live365, then registering, then waiting for it upload, and dealing with all those popups, you simply have to click on "tune in" at www.chisport.com and you will hear it like that. You do need realplayer or winamp though to hear us, which most people have anyway. as far as the show goes, gonna talk about: -The Sox and spring training. I was there this past weekend and will talk about a few players. -The Bears and their attempt to get a quarterback. -The controversy behind David Wells and Omar Vizquel's books. -As well as talk about the Bulls and a whole bunch of other crap. -Also, SoxNet's move to TheInsiders network. I'm sure many are skeptical and need more info or their questions answered via voice, rather than email or post. The show will start at 6:15 pm ct on www.chisport.com . just go there and click on "tune in".

I'm going to mention the move and explain it on my show tonight on Chisport Radio if anyone is concerned or would like to hear more about it. www.chisport.com

SoxNet.net will NEVER be a pay, registration, or even a popup site. if that was the case, we would've never done that. and if ever forced to do so, we will simply pack our bags and go independent again. the whole point of this site is to supply news and info on the site and to allow writers to come here, practice and get their name out. none of this works if people have to pay. I understand what you mean concerning disaster, that was one of the bigger things that we thought of, but the upside is far greater.

HSC, the only way mark pitches at USC on opening day is if he's the fourth starter, OR if he pitches on three days rest. both ideas are stupid. whether it's mark or bartolo going opening day is fine with me.
-
we will still control the board, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT. the freedom to say what you want won't change, outside of going overboard on such stuff like sex and race/religion. if you want to say f***, s***, b****, slut, prick, and do it while ripping another poster, that would be fine, everybody here has handled themselves nicely and have been able to get into arguement without taking anything personally. the way the board is run will not be changed. we would've never made this move if it would be any different.

HSC, if Miles were to start on this team come March 31, I'd be okay with it. I love his hustle, BUT Jimenez is still the better, more proven of the two. He put up great numbers in the minors a few years ago before getting hurt and proved last year how good he can be. defensively, I would have to pick Miles over Jimenez, but not to the point where I could see him topping him. Miles has never faced major league pitching, while Jimenez has. That, and the fact that Jimenez has done nothing to warrant him losing his job, leaves me to believe Jimenez should start. I will say this, Miles should make the team, no DOUBT about that. I love his play and I think he can be a productive player, BUT not until Jimenez proves otherwise. Give Miles the job at second is like making the Sox favorites for the division. He has to prove he is better than Jimenez during the season and at the major league level, just like the Sox have to prove they are better than the Twins. Until then, Miles is still second to Jimenez.
-
Jimenez is the better 2B HSC. Miles is good, I like him A LOT, but talent wise and production wise, right now, Jimenez has the lead. I think Miles should be considered, but in no way is he clearly better than Jimenez as you suggest.
-
okay guys, you can all stop having fun, I'm back. it is kind of late so I won't be doing any work with the site and won't be doing so till tomorrow (monday) afternoon. a lot of stuff to talk about. BTW, it was a great trip to Arizona. it was like 200 degrees compared to Chicago.
-
hey guys, Jason has already left for Arizona and I will be leaving tomorrow, so the SoxNet.net will not be updated till Monday, when I return. Thanks for your patience, Mario
-
I'm not saying he can't come up and produce, but I feel they should give him two more months or so in the minors. don't bring him up from the start, but instead, mid June early July. keep him down, let him get his swings, and let him get hungrier and hungrier for the bigs. I think what they did with Crede, although many don't like it, will lead to instant results. I think the same should be done with Borchard.
-
they've lost their first two spring games, nothing significant though.

Gonna talk about: -Thomas' News Conference -Twins, Sox Trash Talking -Tyson/Etienne Fight -Fluery Being Benched -Williams, Miller Being Released among other things http://www.chisport.com or http://www.live365.com/stations/chisport
