For the rumor to be this widespread, you have to think there is at least a decent possibility of truth to it. Either way though, I hope it is confirmed one way or another soon. Oh, and it'snot just message boards. Radio shows have mentioned a similar rumor too, plus with Neyer's comments yesterday, I dunno, i personally have a hard time believing its bulls***

Started raining with 2 out in the top of the 5th. He looked good prior though. Gave up three hits in the first but one was a pitch that jammed the guy up and in and he somehow dropped it in RF. Also, interesting to note that BMac retired the side on 3 pitches in the 2nd.

US World Cup Qualifier tonight
ChiSox_Sonix replied to ChiSox_Sonix's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Well, Adu IS in the pool (granted, there are over 100). And, if they have two meaningless games that they will just play as friendlys, you know players such as Reyna, Keller, O'Brien, Oneywu, Gibbs, McBride, Beasley and other players in Europe will prolly not play being that the games wouldnt matter and their seasons would be going. I heard someone float that idea back when the U.S. played Guatemala. Now i wouldnt bet on it happening, but I wouldnt be overly shocked either -
I used to play soccer in HS. Double-sessions and Pele drills the first two weeks back were hell
-
No because there is a zero percent chance he'd make it through waivers.
-
Thanks. Thats awesome i get to see BMac pitch then. Now im excited.

http://www.masslive.com/redsox/republican/...2260.xml&coll=1 Interesting article from a couple weeks ago where Damon was asked a bunch of questions about Palmiero. Some of the comments he made would prove to be quite funny if this rumor ends up being true

US World Cup Qualifier tonight

Donovan had his contract bought by the MLS when he requested to leave Bayern due to lack of PT. As for Freddy Adu, he is on the U.S.'s pool of players (which includes over 100) but has not even been called up to the team one time even to sit on the bench. However, if the U.S clinches a spot with a couple games left I would not be surprised to see Adu get into a game and then having players like Gaven, Quaranta and Twellman getting a significant role as well to see what they can do -
Cool, we get that in NY (obviously). Who's scheduled to pitch?

US World Cup Qualifier tonight

U.S won 1-0. McBride scored in the second minute and then TNT's goalie played amazing and the US failed on a couple golden chances to keep it at 1-0. -
Whats the story on Sweeney's injury?
-
Guess we wont be seeing Ozzie cancelling BP again anytime soon.
-
Is Ozzie retarded? Why is Buerhle still in? There is absolutley no need to have him still in here when he's already over 100 pitches and the game is not in doubt. One, he hasnt been overly effective, and two, theres no need for the extra innings. He throws enough as is and its just pointless to push him here.
-
and Carl save the no-hitter 1-hitter is just as pathetic
-
Now this is the only time Adkins could come in handy. No use in wasting the arms of actual pitchers in games like this
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) I must be the only person rooting for the no-hitter? And please, don't say I'm a bad Sox fan for saying that. Sometimes, you have to hit rock bottom before you can regroup. I wouldnt say im rooting for it, but i'm at the point where i dont care if it happens. Maybe then these guys would wake the f*** up
-
And Santana still has a no-hitter shocking...
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) Since it's likely we won't score 5 runs tonight, I hope he gets the no-hitter. It's likely we wont score 2 This team is so frustrating right now. Its sickening
-
Just saw on YES that we're gonna see Mussina, Chacon and Wright vs the Yankee$ The 5 game streak could very well be 6 or 8 by sunday :puke
-
Watch Santana no-hit us...
-
For those who care, the U.S. hosts Trinidad and Tobago in their 6th WCQ. A win would put the U.S. in a position that would almost assure a berth in the 2006 WC Oh, and I think Claudio Reyna is actually going to be playing tonight as well. Game airs on ESPN2 at 8

Chris Young Wins BC Powder Hitter of the Week
ChiSox_Sonix replied to Heads22's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) I think Chris is in the top 5 from what I hear from other managers CY will make it to the final 5 in voting These are the other 5 this I am guessing on: Jeremy Hermida Carolina (Flordia) Brandon Sing West Tennessee (Flubs) Joel Guzman Jacksonville (LAD) Dan Uggla Tennessee (Arizona) I don't think Delmon will win it because he left the 1st of July and his team is way under .500 and a 4th place team Thanks for the info -
Well Uribe had been playing fairly well in August. Crede however, has not, at all
