  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 01:03 AM) Not to mention the US goalkeeping situation is on lock down for years to come. Howard followed by Guzan. This is the first I've heard of this guy, but he's far more likely to play for Mexico. He'd be in the next wave after Guzan fighting for 2022 WC with Sean Johnson, Bill Hamid and Cody Cropper. We have excellent goalkeeper depth at the moment but we need a younger player or two to step up because none has been overly impressive thus far. Guzan probably is done after the 2018 World Cup.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 12:56 PM) León beat America to win Mexico's Primera Division League championship this past Sunday, 5-1 aggregate...interesting side note, León's goal keeper is William Yarbrough, who was born in Mexico but both of his parents are American citizens, he has dual citizenship so essentially he can play for either Mexico or the US. He has been a sensation since starting for León this past season and was an absolute beast in the playoffs. I wonder if he's in Klinsmann's radar, there's talk of Mexico calling him up to play for la Seleccion. I'm sure he's on Klinsmann's radar but he's expressed no desire in playing for the USMNT. He's stated in interviews that he is Mexican and feels Mexican. I'm sure if he never gets involved with the Mexican team he'd consider if the US called, but I think it's safe to say he is all Mexico
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) Romo can score like crazy and sometimes move the ball at will, but I would really like to see the 4th quarter comeback stat conversed with how many times he has thrown a late pick or lost a fumble that basically ended the game. Because that is exactly why this "media narrative" started Would that include botched PAT holds too???
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 04:08 AM) Lol, no. Tony Romo is somehow consider a scum of the Earth quarterback who sucks, especially at the end of games, despite owning the best 4th Quarter QBR of any QB in NFL History, and being one of the best QBs statistically in close games of 7 pts or less. But hey, everyone keeps pushing an inaccurate narrative because it's more important to hate the Cowboys and whomever their QB is than actually be right about anything. Lol, no. I love how Cowboy fans feel about Romo in relation to everyone else.
  5. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) This trade is exciting and I know they're building for the future, but the White Sox are going to lose 100 games in 2014. I hope everyone can stomach that. It's gonna be tough. I honestly won't care if we see exciting baseball from young players who progress and grow and get better throughout the season.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:54 AM) Well that's what I get for relying on Fox sports insights. I only know because I was streaming the game on my computer for fantasy football purposes lol. He beat him on a real good double move. Announcers couldn't believe that Haden got beaten so badly so close to the endzone.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) My favorite play yesterday wasn't even Jeffrey's catch it was Marshall jumping over Joe Haden and then stiff arming him, only to later be first WR to score a TD on Haden this year. He was playing like a man yesterday. Shorts scored on him 2 weeks ago
  8. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) Here that ChiSox Sonic? You and I are myths! I wish that random other guy who I've never met in my life didn't just disprove my existence.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:22 AM) Like I said, you've done a stellar job of showing me why I should just believe that "Responsible gun ownership" is a myth. And you've done a stellar job of showing me why you're incapable of having an open-minded discussion with someone who doesn't have the exact same opinions as you do.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) Well, that's pretty sad if you won't let your kids play with kids of a person because of their politics. I'd happily let kids if I had any do so with Republicans, I have Republican friends, but I wouldn't want them going to a place with loaded guns lying around. Once again, putting words into someone else's mouth. It's not about politics.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) No. You should be helping me support policies that keep people like him from developing their own private arsenal. You've heard of one person spoiling it for everyone? It's right there. I've also heard of people killing people with other means as well. Time to look into that too I guess. BECAUSE ONE PERSON!!!! Honestly, who the f*** cares if he has a private arsenal. My family does. If you're responsible you have that right. Frankly, I think it should be harder to legally acquire firearms. But I don't think that right should be taken away.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:15 AM) If all you had done was read everything he'd posted on this subject from this site...would you let your kids go over to his house? I wouldn't let my kids go over to your house either. What's your point?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:11 AM) Because that person has the ability to kill in a split second. He's a great example of what I think of when I think of a "responsible gun owner". He will call himself that. He will not call himself irresponsible, and the law as it stands right now agrees. You want to prove to me that there is such a thing? You should be cracking down on people like that. You want to know why I don't believe you when you say you're responsible? Because you're not cracking down on him. So do you. And me. And the next guy. Also, he does not equal me, or you, or the next guy. Forgive me. I guess I should be berating him on a message board or doing an IP search so I can go to his house and monitor him to make sure he is being a responsible gun owner for you. I'll try to crack down on him a little harder from 1500 miles away.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) I'd say part of responsibility is making sure that people who shouldn't have them...can't get them. You keep your guns locked up so your kids can't get them...great...but then you let people like that get their hands on them? What's the point, just give them to your kids. Works just as well. You have a PhD. I can not fathom how you can actually believe what you just typed.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:07 AM) Whether or not duke should be armed doesn't really say anything about whether some other random gun owner is responsible, though. I'm a gun owner. I'm responsible. They are locked up and I am the only person who knows the password. The ammunition isn't even in the same spot as the firearms. It's stupid and irresponsbile to pass judgement on everyone based on what one person with a history of ludicrous statements has to say
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) One idiot...with as many guns as he wants. Help me change that problem and then we can talk about responsibility. Until then...no, I don't believe you when you say you're responsible, because any reaction other than "This man should not be armed" is flat out irresponsible. Why even have a discussion when one person's statements cloud your opinion so heavily you refuse to listen or acknowledge what any one who disagrees with you might have to say? That's pretty ridiculous.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 09:29 AM) And there you go. You don't care how many people die, your guns are more important to you. Sickening. Anyone else who calls himself or herself a "responsible gun owner"...this is why I don't believe you guys. Because people like this say the same thing. Because one idiot speaks for for everyone apparently!
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) What awful shows are you forced to watch because of your significant other or children? Mine is Project Runway. I've been watching it so long with my wife that I actually enjoy it now. The stupid Real House Idiots of every single city on the planet.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 14, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) Winston is making me want to root for an SEC team in the championship game, and I didn't think that was possible. You've already gone on record about how much you hate FSU. I'm pretty sure you were going to be rooting against them regardless of Winston and his situation.
  20. i too have developed a strange affinity for curling
  21. Fantasy football playoffs are all about luck. I scored the 2nd highest points in the playoffs ever in my keeper league last week but lost because the guy I faced scored the most (I got Vereen and McCoy'd). It's frustrating but it happens. I went off again in the consolation this week and will be playing for 5th place (and a captain spot - see above) now. Fortunately, in my other league I won this week thanks to Josh Gordon's garbage time TD. Thanks for the TD run Michael Bush!!! So I'm guaranteed $300 for 2nd, if I win it will be $600.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 15, 2013 -> 05:36 PM) Yay, My team is killing it in the consolation bracket!! Being mostly sarcastic about caring but we did make a rule this year that the consolation winner does get to select what pick they get in the lottery next year, so I might as well win. We have 3 divisions. In order to keep it interesting, the winner of the 9-12 consolation and the 5-8 winner's consolation get to be one of the "captains" for the next season. Then we draw one of the top 4 out of a hat. The captains draft their divisions. It's fun.
  23. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) After losing Foster, I have 5 RB 2 typish backs to choose from every week and I've been getting killed every time. Whoever I sit goes off. 2 RB slots and a FLEX. Who do you play? Chris Johnson vs. AZ Ben Tate @ IND Giovanni Bernard @ PIT Stephen Jackson vs. WSH Chris Ivory @ CAR I am thinking Ivory is basically a sure sit. Otherwise I am clueless. If it makes it easier, who from CJ2K, Tate, Bernard and Jackson do you sit? Tate for sure. I'd go Bernard in a PPR. I actually make go SJax in a standard since he's most likely to score a TD
  24. PPR league, I need to start 2 RBs out of Tate, Gerhart, Spiller, Sproles, Rainey I'm fairly sure I'm playing Tate and am leaning towards Gerhart if he's the starter. I just don't know if I can trust the others. I'd play Rainey again if he wasn't going up against SF
  25. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 08:30 AM) ND DC Bob Diaco is the new HC at UConn. I think he could have held out for a better job than that. That's a fantastic hire for UConn. Semi-local guy, young, great defensive mind. Very happy
