  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) I'm saving yours for 5/7. DERBY DAY..!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.... YODA....
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) How much money would it take to take just one of these kids off the street and give them a decent roof for even just one year? Don't you sometimes wish you could be rich, give one of these kids something like $100,000? You know that kind of money in some of these places would set the up for life. Sure, you could give a lot of money to alot of people over your life, but if you gave all of it to one person, and truely saved one person, it seems like that would be almost preferable. you could donate the money and then some warlord (idi amin) or dirty politician (arafat) would take it .....
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) Anyone think Hendry's going to panic and trade for a closer before Opening Day possibly? billy koch is available....
  5. not sure if this was covered..... the religious angle... I'm a church-going catholic, but I'm having trouble with the vatican getting involved. The vatican advocates AGAINST artificial insemination(sp?), AGAINST artificial birth control (condoms and such). The vatican states no one can decide who dies. enter terri schaivo... life support is Ok, artificially keeping her alive, and they claim the power to say "put the tube in" ... why not remove the tube and let nature take it's course???? if God ( or whatever you call your divine being) wants her to live she will. otherwise...... I'm not sure if I complete my argument, but I'm just "concerned" how the vatican says no to some things artificial, yet says other things artificial are OK.... all artificial or nothing.....
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Agreed. It's funny how he says he should have left 6 years before he got fired. Bulls*** on that. Interesting how that would have him leaving in 1994. The last year any of his Indiana teams went anywhere in the tournament. It was definitely time for both of them to part ways. Hey '94 was when I left IU..... this is typical knight ... come tourney time he always starts a show... game face nonsense, whipping cheney(not the vp)... now the media is firmly fixed on bobby and not his players....

  8. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) I am buying tickets to a game and there are two possible locations that I'm considering. Both are about the same price. I've never been to a game at U.S. Cellular so I'm wondering if someone can give me their opinion on which location is better. The two options are: 1. Upper level, behind home plate (slightly toward third base), row 10 2. Lower level, well down right field line, row 30 I tend to prefer the seats behind home plate, but I've heard that the upper level at the Cell is quite far back. I appreciate any advice. section 159 row two is nice
  9. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) This could be very interesting, developing story. Apparently he dropped out for "Personal, family reasons" But members of his family, including his Mom, have no idea what he is talking about. According to the article, the other finalists has picked him as the odds-on favorite. I love Weird happenings on Reality TV. American Idol "favorite" drops out mysteriously someone was gonna "out" him....

    QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Time to spend some time at the Blackjack tables, cry over my NCAA tournament picks and maybe even put some money down on the Sox this year Talk to everyone when I get back. green with envy...
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) The anti-trust exemption allows baseball to engage in anticompetitive practices. ?????????????
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) A few things to respond. #1 Frank has been speaking out against steroids basically his whole career, and not just when it became a hot topic. #2 Frank has been huge his whole life basically. He played TE at Auburn as a freshman. You don't play football in the SEC as a small dude, especially as a glorified lineman. #3 his injuries are not a of a steroid nature. He tore a bicep diving for a baseball. He has had tons of foot and ankle problems, which is not unusual for a guy his size. The injuries you look for in a steroid abuser are things like pulled muscles and torn tendons. None of Frank's injuries fit the profile. #4 the size that Frank has added has been gradually over his 16 years in MLB. He never came to camp 30 pounds bigger one year over next. #1 he's been lying his whole career #2 why isn't he playing football anymore #3 torn bicep isn't a steriod injury? #4 he's been on steriods the whole time... like I said I don't think frank took steriods... but i don't know why I think this... we have no proof as to who's telling the truth and who's lying... why do I/we believe frank??? cause he's on our team????? I would be crushed if it turned out frank was lying and sammy was telling the truth...
  13. what is the significance of baseball's antitrust exemption? What would happen if congress took it away? I think I blew-off class the day they cover antitrust stuff
  14. just a thought... why is everyone believing frank and doubting the others?? frank is just as capable of lying as the others... I don't believe frank took steriods, but what makes him more credible than the others?? do we just want to believe someone? and since frank is on our team he is the one we believe? what would other team boards be saying about frank? big guy... injury prone???
  15. sosa's comment... "stereo's??? I didn't take no stereo's"....
  16. O neg... universal donor... but I can only get Oneg...
  17. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Oh yah, you can get papal keychains, pencils with pope hat-shaped erasers, and beach towels with the Sistine Chapel scene on them. I've got a popener from the vatican... a bottle opener with a picture of the pope on one side and some design on the other...
  18. what's the cardinal gonna say about brown's other book "Angels and Demons" ? angels and demons in my opinion is much more damaging to the vatican.. the pope fathers a child thru artificial insemination(sp?) .. the pope is murdered by his closest aid and then four cardinals are murdered in the same plot... to protect the vatican... sorry to those who are gonna read it.... and what's so wrong with thinking jesus was married and did the nasty with mary mag? it doesn't effect my faith.. i like to think jesus was a normal guy... the cardinals response only strengthens brown's premise that the church does bad things to protect itself... not to mention, sell more books for mr. brown....
  19. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) Im surprised no us cellulars with the sox talk fan base. so far.... got primeco the week they debuted (nov 97???) been with them ever since.. no problems... no complaints... of course primeco became uscellular...
  20. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Let me ask you this, on that team, they had ONE NBA player, Jared Jeffries, then a bunch of basically role players. So if Davis is responsible when they lose, why do you not give him credit for going to the title game? Just a question. The guy was what, 8 points from a national title, so he just got to that point by sitting there and letting his players do all of the work? As a season ticket holder at IU that season and a person "in the know" when it comes to IU basketball, I will say that IU team was one of the best to watch since the championship squad and were very sound in all facets of the game. Now you can say that Knight got them there and all of that, but you don't win 5 straight games in the NCAA tournament if you don't have a capable coach. It just doesn't happen. he won cause he kept coverdale sober ... he's s*** coach......
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Exactly, and before somebody says anything, Davis recruited that group of "Knight's players." And people want to use that argument, a lot of Knight's early success at TT should go out the window. Since those weren't his players. Oh well. I wasn't comparing him to knight at all... i wasn't using "that argument" Davis may be an awesome recuiter still doesn't matter... he's not a good coach... you don't let kids play ya coach em!!!
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) Gammons is a Red Sox fan. yankees/red sox... it's still east coast trash....
  23. what a boob... I like his color commentary but he loves the ACC as much as peter gammons loves the yankees... dickie v's final four... UNC- DUKE- WAKE-and Illinois... he is only taking ILLINOIS because there is no ACC team in that bracket......
