Is it the missing WRs why Williams was at like 129 yards passing on the start of the drive? Jeez, friggin Goff put up better numbers for this offense.

Another thought, what will Ben Johnson be able to change with the personnel given the money tied up going into next year? Going back to your point, I think the close wins were positive, but I am also reminded of last year when the team was bad, but a few games could have changed and they would have improved that record. They really need to win out to prove they belong in the playoffs.

Bleeding the clock and there’s nothing other than a turnover that will stop them. It’s going to be a two score game real soon.

Are we sure the Bears don’t have the backup QB and the Packers have the number one QB playing right now?

Good thing Santos knows how to make field goals in Soldier Field better than Kevin Warren knows how to get shovels in the ground.

Collectively the offense needs to be more in sync this time around. I expect DJ Moore to perform like he is paid and for the backups and other weapons to move the ball and execute this Saturday. They have to be in sync from the beginning if they want to beat the Packers. Don’t let the Packers offense get those explosion plays and the defense needs to live up to its identity if they expect to win.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
What is Illinois going to have to agree to for property tax relief and for infrastructure, that is what I want to know?

If they want to negotiate with the legislative body in Illinois they can have a stadium here. They also should pay more down on the $500 million they owe the city for Soldier Field renovations. They only offered $25 million towards that. They also should be more clear about what they expect from taxpayers. Is it infrastructure? Is it eating some of the cost of the stadium? Is it a sweetened property tax deal? What is it?

Not my favorite fourth down call but I didn’t think they were going to win. Kind of a careless throw.

I haven’t seen the Packers much this year but I also watched the highlights from last year and think if the Bears have a better pass rush, can force turnovers and the offense doesn’t crap the bed, they can split or even win two.

White Sox tender Derek Hill, non-tender Cam Booser, Tim Elko, & Mike Tauchman
It’s so aggravating to see them go so cheap with signings like Taylor and DeJong. Revenue losses can only make sense for so long. Let’s hope for signings like Garfien, Fletcher and McKnight predicted. Are the lack of signings because they don’t want to pay players during the work stoppage or because they’ll get a better price when it is resolved?

Fair, what do you make of the remaining schedule? What do the Bears have to do?

So they should dump Robert and Benintendi during the season and sign some free agents? Like the goal can’t be to bottom out payroll if they want to have any attendance at all. And actually turn around this organization. There has to be a plan unless the plan is move to Nashville and spend then, or spend only when the strike gets resolved.

2025-26 NFL Season Thread
I’m cautiously optimistic since the Bears beat the Eagles. I did not have that one circled as a win and thought they would beat the Packers once, the Browns and 49ers and Steelers. I have a weird feeling, but think the Bears really need to beat the Packers to get over the hump in the NFC North even though they beat Philadelphia. I also want them to get a win in the playoffs and prove this isn’t 2018 and that they aren’t the Marvin Lewis Bengals. Are any of those concerns legitimate or am I off base?

I thought Tauchman was affordable and was arbitration eligible so he was worth the money. Injury and age concerns make sense, but not for Derek Hill. I don’t really understand what the front office is trying to accomplish. It is one thing to find players on a short term deal, but it is another thing to find players on a one year deal on a shoestring budget. I hope Brooke Fletcher, Connor McKnight and Chuck Garfien are right in that the front office is seeking reclamation projects. At this team needs players with some upside instead of just the youth movement on this team. Just don’t spend the money on Grandal and Keuchel types and find some players with some upside and value.

Would have been funnier with a doink. Sweet Bears win that was unexpected. It makes up for the cold game I sat in at Soldier Field where Fields was a fun watch but the Eagles coasted to the win.
