It makes me wonder what really could help this team right now. Clearly they can’t play against the big boys without Robert, Jimenez and maybe Madrigal. Good god do they suck right now.

How long will they have to wait to have Jimenez and Robert back though? It is going to be some time before that happens. I want to see guys like Moncada, Anderson and Abreu play better. If they need the others to be healthy to get better, it’s going to be a while before they play better.

Rizzo was quoted as saying he isn’t anti-vaccine but he needs to see more data. What frustrates me about this argument is that I don’t know what data they need to be comfortable with the vaccine. Its like they want years of studies to go by and run the clock out on the pandemic and not get it. From a team perspective, if they can’t reach the 85% threshold, it does limit them, even if it doesn’t limit them as much as unvaccinated NFL players. Those guidelines, while tough to enforce, really restrict players from what they can do and their endorsements.

Word on the street is Rizzo is trying to knock his wife up and so they aren’t getting the vaccine because of that.

Sure, with a phantom injury and another Charlotte replacement since Hamilton isn’t ready yet.

They also have never won a World Series and have a fan base that doesn’t show up so there’s that.

Any thoughts on what Jason Heyward and Anthony Rizzo said? I don’t agree with them but I didn’t have an issue with Rizzo like I did Heyward, who pointed the fingers right back at the fans in the stands. My response to him is that it takes all of us, including the highest paid men in the ballpark, to beat the virus.

Things on my mind today in the wake of the recent news: What do conservatives hope to accomplish by showing evidence that the Wuhan lab leak theory was being considered and I guess in their minds, ignored? What are they implying that Fauci did with the grant his department provided? Is it being suggested that the lab leak theory was being dismissed to harm Trump’s chances of re-election? Do people point out media bias to say I told you show or show how they perceive the media to be biased against conservative viewpoints? What is their goal? Is it possible for scientists to update their findings when new information has become available and facts are clear (especially with how reliable China is)? Is it also possible for readers to read something and think to read other websites for different perspectives to get a sense of the larger picture?

I went for the first game of the double header on Saturday and sat in the upper deck behind the plate. Selection is limited in the upper deck compared to the lower deck but it has decent food and drink selection. I actually really like not having vendors and having so many busy things up and down the aisles and on the concourse in the stadium, there is less congestion and it makes for a better experience (even though I know for many that means fewer jobs). I do miss tailgating though, that makes games much more affordable. Parking has seem to have gone up with $25 when I went on Saturday and I remember it being cheaper in the past. I haven’t been able to find the coupon codes that were available in years past for discounted tickets, enabling me to get $20 seats in the lower deck, but I have had some luck price shopping on StubHub and Ticketmaster. I will need 4 tickets for Friday and am looking for tickets for 6/26 and 7/31 too. Hoping to find a deal for all of them.

Hugh Hewitt believed that the media is covering up for not investigating this possibility last year. He believed that the media did this so it would hurt Trump. I’m personally open to the possibility that there was a lab leak but I don’t know if the leak was intentional or if we will ever know if it was.

I shop at the Mariano’s and Aldi in Westmont and Darien and everyone I saw was wearing masks even though the stores mentioned the CDC guidance. Maybe it depends on where you live and I think it will change soon, but I was thinking that people are wearing them because they just don’t trust other people to be truthful.

I’m going grocery shopping at Mariano’s and Aldi soon. I’ll bring my mask and wear it even though I am vaccinated because I am doing whatever I can to protect my son since he can’t get vaccinated yet. I’m not sure if that will do anything but I feel better wearing it. Hopefully nobody at either store will have a problem with that.

Did anyone else think his swing reminded them of one of the ones in the Home Run Derby because of how the pitch was thrown?
