  1. BTW, thanks for the picture. It't now my wallpaper here at home.
  2. Madison St. Station. Now, how do I get to the rally, and how much time do I need to get there???
  3. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Also, McLane was the most gracious loser I've probably ever seen. I know nothing about him but from the postgame show yesterday he seems like a great guy. That's the Owner/CEO, right? That guy rocked! At the end of the game, as the celebrating was going on, he had a smile from ear to ear! The guy had just seen a wonderful example of Baseball all around, and you could see he appreciated it. Then when he congratulated JR, you could see the sincerity. Then yeah, the Astro's themselves. After the game, applauding their fans, and even congratulating our guys, what a wonderful team they have down there. I might have a new favorite in the NL. Though, next year, can we please, please, PLEASE be spared the Brandon Backe mic???
  4. Flipping through my book just now and realizing something seems to be missing from this thing. Anybody think it's about time for a revised edition to come out?
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Where you gonna situate yourselves, Kid? I'm planning on being somewhere around Jackson or Adams, close enough to work to get back in an hour. But it might be a better idea for you guys to park it closer to the Chicago River near Wacker, where the rally will be. I'm coming in on the train again. Any advice on how to get to the rally location from there? If you still have my cell number, call me in the morning.
  6. As far as I'm concerned, work is cancelled. As far as my kids are concerned...if they can have the day off for something as stupid and pointless as Columbus Day, then they are being pulled from school tomorrow!!! I will be there, with the whole family.
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) I've been a big critic of Reinsdorf at times, but I think HE deserves the ball more than anybody else. But something tells me Reinsdorf wants the ball to stay right where it is.
  8. I'm a tad confused, where on earth is the rally going to be at??? From what I am being told, there is nothing at where they are saying this is ending at. Are they just going to stop in the street and say "HI!" or what?
  9. I've also seen the comments comparing the fans reactions in both situations. Thing is, IMO, I can't blame the Houston fans for not getting in the way. Uribe is a big guy, and if I had him running full steam at me, on a mission, I'm moving WAY out of the way!!!
  10. I need to find out how to get there from the train!!!
  11. Nope wait!!! The Miami Herald reports about "Baseball Salutes It's Latin Legends", but no mention of the game that followed it! LOL!!!
  12. How about Hernando Today! LOL!!! No mention of there even being a World Series.
  13. QUOTE(afacio @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) That's why I said "back then". Lighten up. Next time you critique someone's post make sure you get it right. :headshake And at what point in her career was she wearing a "pasty" or did we have a shot of her "boob" other than at the Superbowl of a few years ago? I don't seem to remember Janet ever running around with "pasties" on. Oh wait...re-reading it again I now see you are using the "way back machine" with Timberlake to have him time travel to that point in time. It's still a bit of a vague post on what you were getting at. It still gets a nice post just for being a nasty post. So nope...I choose to NOT lighten up. Thanks though.
  14. No matter who is on the air, none will ever even come close to being in the same universe as Johnny Carson though. They are all just stand-in's in the shadow of him.
  15. I loved the Uribe chant and the assault on Thomas from El Duque.
  16. I actually like Jay's column today. Very, very, very well written.
  17. From what I can tell, the SI thing is about $90??? CRap. I have no interest in the magazine, but the book, balls, and coins look nice. I'll get those cards for sure. Though I don't collect them really, I so have a stack of White Sox from when I was a kid, dating back to about '75. They are the only ones I hung onto. Plus I have the Lemon Chill cards from...'99 I think.
  18. Just started yelling "YES!" over and over again at the top of my lungs, and then started hyperventilating, and then got a little light headed, and just kept laughing.
  19. QUOTE(WISoxFan @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Monday? They can't be serious. That's horrible. How can they expect so many people to get out of work? We're not Cubs fans who can take off on a whim. We're working Sox fans. I'm remebering why I left the state now. You left Illinois for Wisconsin because the Cubs fans take off of work??? That's weird.
  20. Obviously I love this one: Happy Birthday Kid, there is your ring!
  21. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) WHIPPED???? How DARE you!!! But seriously, after school she has a little party and then I'm taking her trick-or-treating, so schlepping her downtown and back in a big rush would be too much for both of us. It just seems easier to me to have the damn thing on Sunday, when more people would be able to take part in it. Richard is a pretty strong Catholic...right? I have a feeling that plays a part on the "no Sunday" thing.
  22. I had to go with AJ. It may not have been the flashiest, but that moment was the change in direction for the team, IMO. They were going to win it all with that play.
  23. Well, along with the sleep depravation of the past two nights, this all seems so damned surreal. Normally I am bummed about this time of year due to Baseball being done...but this time, I have a smile on my face, as the last game I watched was a White Sox game, and I can't possibly see anymore games until Spring Training.
  24. Yeah, talk about a swan song! He can't possibly leave this organization with a better call than the one he gave last night. Take care John, you will always be a part of the Sox in many, many, many peoples eyes!
  25. Well, it's Critics wife that will be at work...and he's so whipped he would tell her...I'm all tied up over the trick or treating thing.
