How are you planning to watch the potential clinch
Kid Gleason replied to Funkman7's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) I'll be ZZZZZZ unfortunately. 4AM ain't the best time to be watchin a baseball game. Pshaw...some fan you are. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) we dont clinch with a win... if we win and so do the tribe.. then they sweep us(not likely) then we have a one game playoff to decide the division winnner. but if we win today we clinch at least a wildcard berth We need a sticky thread to explain this. It's been covered all over that if we win today, we win the division. -

I'm here at work, so I will be listening. I already told my boss that as of noon I will not be a very productive worker. He says he understands. He's a HUGE Cubs fan, but is seriously pulling for a Sox win. He and my other boss (both Cubs fans, seasons tickets holders in fact) are hoping for a Sox/Cards World Series. From there, they REALLY want the Sox to crush the Cards. But yeah, I'll be sitting here at my computer acting like I am working. -

Their entire production is pure 70's sound. So obviously up against The Darkness and their flashy 2000's production they will falter. I'm not saying these guys are the saviors or anything, but I kind of liked them. Granted, I have only listened to it the one time.

I also miss WinoDJ. "Rex Kickass" just doesn't roll off the tongue as smoothly.
-
Anybody think Crede needs some love somewhere? The guy went from being a pox on the team to suddenly looking like a seriously great player to be someday. He turned a HUGE corner, especially in the second half.
-
Anybody know if Crede will be back tomorrow? I expect him to come back tearing the s*** out of things.
-
I think there were numerous HUGE things tonights. Let's just hope that for once it carries over.
-
Wow, now with this pressure off, maybe he will REALLY turn it on! Nice one Joe and family! I'm sure you're reading this. I know you have nothing else in your life going on other than keeping up with 'net surfing.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) if the sox win and tribe get swept tomorrow, then you can bust out the bubbly. But I'd keep it on ice for a bit. No, if that happens, we win the division. Unless things changed all of a sudden.

Didn't the Cubs have the one game play-off a few years ago? Or was that strictly for the Wild Card with the other team going home? Since I guess we are talking about both teams going to Post, just one as champs and the other as WC.

Somebody get Bud on the phone.
-
Do they get the Central with a win tomorrow? Don't we need two more wins, or a win and an Indian loss? Either way, we need to steamroll Cleveland. We need an upward swing since we have struggled for so long.

Hmmm, I'm thinking I might need to find something else to do tonight instead of watching this again. But I know I will be glued to the TV for all damn 9 innings.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Yeah, but c'mon Kid, there is not one original riff in the whole thing. Damn you Sox fans, damn you all to hell!!!

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Thanks, Kid, I'll check it out when I get home. I have my computer muted at work so I don't hear the annoying PINNNNNNG of our company's instant message system. The Darkness minus Justin Hawkins' painful yelp = very good, so I'm hoping this band has a decent singer who doesn't sound like he has his nuts in a vice. He goes there from time to time, but he is a little bit better. The rest of the time he sounds more "real" to the 70's styles.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) THAT'S NOT A GOOD JOKE!!! BAD KID!!! Sorry...but somebody had to do it. Think of me as a martyr for humor.

Throw back to the 70's. They will be hit with a million "they sound like The Darkness", but the main difference is that these guys are more authentic sounding and actually sound like they have spent a lifetime listening to the stuff, and not just out using it for a gimmick. They even look a bit more real, and not as much of an act as The Darkness. www.diamond-nights.com

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) ....didja at least leave your desk???? I'm reminded of a scene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) Write a report on the pros and cons of going to the bathroom. Hold a company-wide meeting on the topic and ask for opinions. Send out an email asking for the best time to go. Count the votes and go with the winning time. I vote for 4:45pm. ...too late...

See, this is where I get to be honest: I always HATED Bad Company, so I was fearful of his being in the band. Naturally, I have yet to hear their versions of the Bad Co. songs, as I skip them as soon as they come up.

Spider-Man 3 villains mentioned by Dunst. You gotta LOVE the title of this article: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/653/653818p1.html

I have to go to the bathroom. I'm trying to decide exactly when the best time to go would be. It's a sloooooow day at work.

Critic was being a funny guy. Hey, what right do you have to comment on Queen or Paul Rodgers, Critic? You have told me before that you HATE classic rock. Hmmmm, maybe we found two bands that you actually DO like from the past ROCK world? Few bands are as "70's Arena Rock" as Queen and Bad Co.
