And with your new myspace.com account you can now expect a million pieces of junk email being sent your way, and you can expect to start getting hit with spyware. It's a lovely thing. Myspace is used as a promotional tool for millions of bands out there. I always avoided it do to it's ugly design. Plus, it is just a nasty friggin' thing with all the evils that come with it.

1919 replica jersey being worn on every game. (it has to do with that is what I wore during game 1, as it is my fave of the jersey's I have not some stupid ass curse). I stand in the same spot when things get rough. I am a superstitious nut when it comes to things anyways, and I ALWAYS am knocking on wood. So, when somebody on the TV/Radio starts to mention anything about the Sox losing or pointing out things going well, I start to knock like crazy to avoid anything bad about to happen. During the 8th and 9th yesterday I busted out my Sox Encyclopedia, found a picture of Shoeless Joe in there, and we had us a little talk. I asked him to get his ass to Fenway to give them a little help. I think he went there. The next few games...I will be asking for some other ghosts to get their butts over there. Ya know, if they have the time.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) The only fan group with their own "nation" just collapsed in a pile of smoking ruin. Heh, heh. It's almost a shame in a small way. Most Red Sox fans I have encountered have said that if they lose, they will be pulling for the White Sox. I don't think they despise us much, but I think they try to see themselves a year ago within us. Even though we try not to think of us like them, as we all feel they are too much like the Cubs with their damned excuses. Atleast Francona has talked about the Sox in a positive light and admitted how good our team was/is. There is no mention of a curse from him, and I highly doubt he would ever admit to such a thing.

AJ. We have a killer staff, and I think a LARGE part of it has to do with him. I think he helped tap into what makes them all work. Plus he has done just fine at the bat as of late. Hopefully he is our catcher for a LONG time.

I've been screaming at my TV so much as of late. I lost it last night, I think it was Reynolds, was mentioning the "curse of Joe Jackson". :headshake I wish these "experts" would realize that sometimes bad things happen to teams for a long time for other reasons than a "curse". Maybe bad play and poor teams has something to do with it. And yeah, "Nation"? Ick. Just call us "fans" and I'll be happy with that.

I got into the Sox once they signed Jeff Blumb. He's the best left fielder to ever play in the National League. GO WHITE SOCKS!!!

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER

I've got a headache from stressing soooo damn bad (high blood pressure, ya know), but man, that was fun!!! Ran into three Cub fans when I ran out. They actually, in a way, congratulated the Sox. -
It is crazy how often we have beat Ortiz with that shift, even during the season. Let's hope we continue to do that, because soon we are going to get HURT by that guy.
-
Anybody have any good stories about Ortiz being a jerk? I hate his nickname and I want to dislike him for some reason.
-
Is there a crowd there? It's so quiet on the radio.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 07:41 AM) According to Lyons last night during the Braves/Stros game, the White Sox won the World Series in 1919 and 1920. Yeah, I forgot about that! LOL!!! I sat there trying to figure out if he thought maybe we won 1918 and 1919, or if he forgot that there was a year 1918 that followed 1917, and that we didn't really win 1919...or if he forgot about the years...oh...nevermind...but yeah...that was a good one I had forgotten about until you just mentioned it.

Trust me, nobody will want to check. One stink bomb, and your set. Granted, you will have a new nickname or ten...but hey...it's worth it, right?

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) zach hansen The drummer??? Heh, that's cool. Nick left Jessica, BTW. It was on CNN and Yahoo news.

"I just crapped in my pants".

Yeah, I am not too aware of what kind of a twit North might be, as his voice is so damned annoying I never listen long enough to find all of the bad points other than the annoying voice. Lyons would be cool, and last night he started raving about the Sox during the Braves/Astros game, and seemed to have been shut up pretty quick.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) So, what have we learned from this? Every actor on Earth panders to whomever is the story at the time. They all suck if they switch allegiances like that. We also learned that mreye is weird.
-
Jumping up and down screaming "WOOOO HOOOOO YES, YES, YES, MY GOD , YES...etc, etc, etc", my son laughing came running up to me so I grab him and started hugging him like mad, my wife came running down stairs, calling me a freak and laughing, but also very excited. Yeah, the neighborhood knows now. I see others have superstitions also about this stuff. I always stand in the exact same spot when things get tight like that. That is where I came running out from when it happened.

QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) I think that guy Bartman is a Sox fan. (TEAL) No, no, you're thinking Guy Lombardo. QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) I'm telling you, she's sneaky hot! You've said this before. I'm not a Joan hater by any means, but calling her "hot" is almost as weird as having a Bea Arthur crush.

Yeah, even Farmer asked him a few times if they might run across each other next year while on the road. Sure sounded to me like Rooney was gone.

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) She's HOT! I still can't tell if you keep forgetting green with that...

nasty stuff...eesh. I'm staying out of the Everglades if that kind of stuff is going on. Like I had any plans to go there...

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) Why would this bother you? He may have interned in chicago, but he is from New York. If you moved to New York for an internship, would you expect to change allegiances? Eh, good point. I guess it is because he spent sooo much time covering the teams around here, and he usually brings that up. But yeah, then I guess it's pretty cool that he still has his team.

QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Here's an article: http://www.boston.com/ae/celebrity/article...white_sox_fans/ We all know Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Stephen King are superfans of the Sox, but how 'bout their playoff opponents? What celebs, if any, support the Chisox? Believe it or not, Styx singer Dennis DeYoung is to the White Sox what Ben is to the Bosox. Yup, while many prominent Chicagoans pledge allegiance to the Cubs -- John Cusack, Bill Murray, Dennis Franz, and Jim Belushi come to mind -- Mr. Roboto reveres the White Sox. (We e-mailed DeYoung yesterday, but Kilroy wasn't there.) The list of Pale Hose partisans doesn't end there. Other notables who strongly identify themselves as White Sox rooters include the Rev. Jesse Jackson, ''Cheers" star George Wendt, talk show host Jerry Springer, professional wrestler Mankind, and, our personal favorite, 1994 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy, a South Side native. Reached yesterday in New Orleans, Jackson called the Chisox a ''team of destiny" that has ''not only the talent, but the appetite." While it's ''a joy to watch the artistry of [David] Ortiz and[Manny] Ramirez," he predicted a White Sox win. ''You and the Red Sox share something," Jackson said, laughing. ''You're both up against a deadline." That's a nice slam by Jesse Jackson. And Mr. Roboto just got a step closer to that Bonnie Tyler song in my book. Is Ben Affleck somehow more relevant that DeYoung? If so, in what universe? I think people are letting time slip away and forgetting that Styx, while maybe not holding up well through the years, was a MAJOR band and quite the influence on many bands. Has Ben actually had any hit movies? Stuff with Damon doesn't count, as Damon is obviously the superior actor and talent. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) Billy Corgan was at the game last night.. he's an idiot. He's also a HUGE Cubs fan. That guy sucks on so many friggin' levels. I've heard that Ken "Hawk" Harrelson has been known to cheer for the Sox from time to time.
