QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) You're more excited to watch auctions on ebay than you are to watch the Sox play in the World Series???

Who should throw out the first Pitch for game 1?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I guess it depends on if you want a face of Chicago, or a face of the Chicago White Sox. Face of the Sox, IMO. The city has been crap to the team for a few years now, IMO. Don't forget your own legacy. -
QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) I think the main reason I do not want the White Sox to face the Astros is because of that bandbox they call a baseball park. The Astros hitters use that short porch in left with dangerous efficiency (see Berkman's homerun in game 5 off Carpenter) and that really frightens me. I feel that the park gives the Astros a significant homefield advantage that the Cardinals do not have. Since the Sox are a very good road team, I don't want to play where that advantage may be mitagated. I don't know, Paulie seems to like hitting to left quite a bit. I'm happy with him having a go at that area. I think our hitters will benefit much better with that park's lay-out. I expect that Rowand would LOVE the chance to run up that stupid hill they have there. Our team is designed to win a game where we only score a few runs. History tells us we suffer against pitchers we are not familiar with. Well, that takes out their two big guns. As for the fans there taking a team out of the equation, it didn't work the other night...at all. It's going to be a REAL tough Series and I am expecting a full 7 games. I hope it only goes 5 with us on top, due to my having a Filmfest I am throwing on the 29th.

But I mean starting. Usually by the end of the year an injury has knocked somebody out or somebody has been replaced by a deadline. But Kenny actually stuck with our opening day starters, and they will be the last ones on the field.

Nobodies up for pizza with me and the kids? I get good reception on the car radio. Actually, I'll be on my couch with my 57" HDTV in front of me. Nice beer, popcorn, and my guitar for the tense times. I like to play the theme from Jaws when things get dire.

Curious, what was the opening day line-up? I'm pretty sure that with the exception of who started (pitching), this is the exact line-up, right? How often has that happened where the team that started is the same that ended? All we have lost from the beginning is Shingo, right?

News Radio was great. Where is the love for Dave though? That guy is friggin' brilliant. He was obviously at his best with Kids In The Hall, but he just rules. I believe the show pretty much ended due to nobody caring anymore, meaning the cast and crew. Lovitz only went on to the show to honor Hartman, who was one of his best friends. He was never thrilled about doing it, but felt he had to. Friends is just O.K. It has it's moments and I think Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow could be great at times. But "Top 10" shows? Nope, not even "Top 50". 3rd Rock should be number 2. Fresh Prince??? Wow...never would have expected that one.

Would we be as mad about not getting tickets

Elmer Fudd could be calling the games and I wouldn't care. Just as long as the picture I see on TV has the Pale Hose on it, I'm fine. I didn't expect to get tix, so I hold no animosity at all about it. -
That is really cool!!! I'd like to see that! Do you think the players will be using them, or will superstition win out?

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 07:15 AM) Billy Pierce Hey...not bad! There are numerous good choices. IMO, though I like him, Hawk is not one of them. -
I actually like the Twins a whole bunch. Minnesota is my second home basically. Plus, I will always go for the AL and especially the AL Central first and foremost. I always want to prove our division is the best. (it's got nothing to do with the Cubs, BTW)

I have kids...anybody want to hook up at Chuckee Cheese's???

I went Minnie since he really is a proud ex-Sox player, and a great one. I would also put in there Melton. -
I'm in the same boat as Tex with this knowledge. But even if I wasn't, that is some of the best damn writing up there on his first post!!! LOL!!! Hand that itself over to your friend Tex, it's great!

You could tell from this picture the man was to be a God in this town!!! LOL!!! Congrats Ozzie, you rule!!! -
I've been to numerous "sold out" games. There will always be cancellations. Your best bet? Wait.

QUOTE(Allsox @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) I agree with they never should be supported but they exist because people do pay those ridiculous prices so what can you do? But how do they exist??? What makes them above scalpers?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) where are they located? You should sit down with one of them and figure out how they get tickets through loopholes in the system. We could start our own gig of just selling tickets to real fans. They are building a new office building in Huntley. I would ask them how they operate, but I really don't care to socialize with them.
-
Nope...nope...that stuff never works...don't even bother trying...never...ever...ever works...just give up...you'll never get one...move along kids...

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) I feel sorry for anyone who goes down to the games in cubs gear. There is nothing they can say, they will get screamed at, and will be severely outnumbered. Really??? Maybe I should warn them!
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) No. That is never allowed. Keep reading.. I got a couple Cubs guys here planning on going down there to raise holy hell on Saturday. Both of them the type of guys the Sox are accused of having for fans. BUt be well aware, they are HUGE Cubs fans. I'm thinking I will just keep my mouth shut. They will be drunk for sure...so let 'em get arrested. They will also be wearing Cubs gear...so no worries about them being mistaken for Sox fans.

QUOTE(soxgirl25 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) It's worth it to me....I'm spending my entire savings account!!! I was just concerned I would get a fake ticket from a broker or something....I've been assured that www.ticketsnow.com is safe and secure Yeah, they're safe. They are in my building...and they are a bunch of assholes. ***clarifying*** I am not endorsing them at all. Just saying that yes, if you buy from them, you will get your crap. They are nothing more than a legalized ring of crooks working through loopholes. They should NEVER be supported.
