What the hell??? Why is the Wii so hard to find still?
Kid Gleason replied to Kid Gleason's topic in SLaM
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:08 PM) The Wii is all about people outside the gaming demo. It's why it will crush 360 and the PS3. That is also exactly why it appeals to me so much. We also got one. They were mass released all over again. Took my wife about 5 stores to finally find one though, and even there is was the last one. She let the kids buy a game to go with it. They chose one with weird looking rabbits. One of the objectives is to throw cows. Looks great to me! This thing: http://us.wii.com/soft_rayman.jsp -
Decent avatar. From his avatar, the poster knows hot chicks, from his earlier response to me, he obviously doesn't know s*** about classic Horror films. (to be taken in good fun)

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) I don't look for them every time I'm out but I've checked a couple of times and have seen them sitting on the shelves. Did you check all the EB games? There's like 3 or 4 of them. 2 Targets, 3 Wal-Marts, Best Buy, Circuit City... Yeah, called 'em all. Funny thing is that the Circuit City on State told us they had one. So, my wife drove out there. When she got there the guy said they didn't have one and that they hadn't had one for a long time. Now, I hate Circuit City to begin with, but now I won't buy one from a CC even if they were cheaper than anyplace else. Bastards. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) Not my writing, so please excuse the grammar. Yeah...I'll think about it. Thanks for the info though. -
She looks like she is using the same technology Paula Abdul used in the waterfall video to make herself look skinny. Let me guess, she's your girlfriend,, from Alaska, I wouldn't know her? If clowns are scary, then how damn scary is an Evil Jester??? Where did the name come from by the way? Always loved the name.

That avatar has always bugged me. Poster seems fine though.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) I've seen them all over the place. The PS3 too. Maybe it just depends on where you live. I live in Harvard. You live in Rockford (or so it says over there to the left). I called every store in Rockford last night and got nothing. I think it is all in the timing. Now it's more of just the fun of the hunt. -
And this is the worlds business...how???

Thanks for the tips. What sold me on it was the boxing game. That thing is a decent little work-out. Shadow boxing is an awesome exercise to begin with, but take part of the shadow away and replace it with something, and it becomes enjoyable. Tex, yes, I have a daughter. A son also. My daughter came inside, saw all of us playing and then went back out with her friends to play. When she got in, my sister-in-law had left with the game. My daughter thought WE (not Wii) had bought the game system, and was CRUSHED. That kind of helped decide for us to maybe get one. My wife was sold all ready, I was almost sold, my son was in love with it. The workout of the games helped me also decide. At this point in my life, I'll take any exercise I can get that doesn't require traveling a half hour to a gym. -
The only place I have to get to before I die is the UK.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) Because other people who want one are faster than you Smartass. I take it there is a limited number still? I mean, if I want a certain model DVD player, chances are the stores will have it. If they don't, they will say "come back next week". But that doesn't seem to be the case with these things. -
I've called every store under the sun, why is this thing still so hard to find? How is it that there are not a crapload of them on the market?

I would normally go along with those commercials sucking. But one day while watching TV with my daughter one of those came on and she stopped what she was doing to watch it. She loves those, and she gets it.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:45 PM) I vote this as worst post of the year. Seconded. I didn't even consider watching last night. After the boredom that was Tuesday night on this show, even my daughter is done with Idol this season. Tuesday was probably the last I will actually pay attention to the show.

QUOTE(NonSoxFanChitownMan @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) Being a die hard Cubs fan, I just wanted to express my congrats to Mark on his fine accomplishment last night. For you Sox fans, it had to have been one Helluva Rush to see it happen. Congrats Mark on your achievement. That's very cool! -
I can tell ya "why". Because he was an asshole.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) /cloud goes over sun for a few seconds /people whine "A bad day in Florida beats a good day almost anywhere else" Really? A BAD DAY IN FLORIDA IS A HURRICANE, ASSHATS Great commercial southwest airlines Oh, good one!!! That's what I am talking about!
-
As soon as we realized that what he did was to gain attention and to get people talking about things, that is eaxctly when the media and everybody needed to shut-up about him and turn it's full attention onto the victims. His goal is now achieved and he was a massive success. Coverage on him needs to stop.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 01:18 AM) BTW, cheers to Hawk and DJ for letting the 9th inning pretty much play out, and letting the images speak for themselves. I thought the same thing also. So many people complain about Hawk and his dead-air, but last night was the perfect example of why he does it. At that point it was great to just see the beauty of the game. -

I'm going to run this into the ground, only because I NEVER make predictions. But anyways...page three of the game thread... QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) I bet Buerhle throws a no-hitter. Doesn't mean we'll win though. But sure, I'm sticking with the no-hitter. No, make it a PERFECT game...that way we will win. I'm opening a booth at the county fair for psychic readings this summer now. -

I'm taking over Ozzie's job!!! http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=1397672 I feel pretty darn tootin' cool right now. That was soooo killer!!! My heart was racing almost as fast as in the 9th inning of the World Series! -
The "Rock The Casbah" phone commercial: This one wins out for stupid. It's the guys who are showing how easy it is to download a song on your new phone. Neither one of them know what is being said during the chorus, one thinks it is "Lock the cashbox" or something of the sort. What makes this so incredibly stupid is somehow these guys were able to download the song even though the phrase they can't understand IS THE TITLE OF THE DAMN SONG!!! Dos Equis: It's the one with the "Most Interesting Man In The World". When our hero finally speaks, he says "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I drink Dos Equis". Now this tells me the guy doesn't drink beer often, so why should I trust some guy who doesn't drink beer to tell me what is good beer? He obviously is NOT an expert, so he probably just wants something a little refreshing, not tasty. McDonalds and their in-expensive food: The one where the guy keeps placing his change in the jar until the shelf collapses. I guess somehow getting change back equates to food not costing much. But if something costs $99.50, and I pay with a $100 bill, I will still get change back. Shouldn't the commercial show the guy constantly going to the change jar to get money, and then coming home with a sack of food? These commercials just bug me for their own stupidity. What commercials can you think of that defy logic? I'm not talking about annoying cavemen and kings, but ones that just don't make sense.
