  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 11, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) I just dont understand how the Braves got singled out. Because it is Atlanta and there is a high population of African American people? Isnt the same true of Oakland, Chicago, New York? And this statement: Doesnt Willie Harris negate this statement completely? Isnt he from Georgia, near Atlanta? I just dont get it. But you said so yourself...he's from Georgia...not Africa...he doesn't count. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ May 10, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Unofficial rule: Whites get hockey, blacks get basketball. I thought it had to do with ankles.
  2. I just can't get past the fact that the Cubs (and other teams) have banned the booze in the clubhouse, but you can get as blasted as you want in the stands. Obviously these teams don't give a rats booty about their fans. Right?

    Bluetooth

I use a regular little headset when I drive or when I am writing. But if somebody ever sees me walking around with one of those things attached to my head while I am just "out and about", you have permission to beat the living crap out of me. The headset, by the way, only gets put on when a call comes in. I don't leave it on full time. I'm not an idiot.
  4. I'm betting there are more African American (Black? What's correct now?) players in the league than bald. Just watch, as soon as Paulie gets there, he'll be benched. David Wells? They only let him stick around because he is fitting the "fat pitcher" quota.
  5. Baseball is also lacking bald people, and this offends me. Plus, if they are bald(ing), obviously the MLB has a prejudice against us bald people since they make everybody cover up their afflictions with hats. I think I will be calling Selig when I get home to discuss this. It causes me great worry.
  6. All I saw last night was when Barry Gibb came out to sing. Holy flaming monkies from Hell was that bad!!!
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 7, 2007 -> 05:37 PM) Any truth to the rumor that the CD was going to be titled "Bank Half Empty"? LOL! Considering the ex, I think a whole lot of off-color "half" jokes could be made.
  8. I have Dish and I get all the channels. I used to have Direct but switched due to Dish having a better HD package last year. Side by side I prefer Dish to Direct, but the differences are so minimal. The main selling factors for me are the MonstersHD (which isn't as fun as it was at first, a man can only deal with a certain number of Full Moon flicks), Kung Fu HD, and the Treasure Channel (which has two of my favorite shows on it: Collectors Showdown and Collective Intelligence). Otherwise it's about the same.
  9. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 4, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) Worst Sports Headline Ever would be: Cubs Win WS! "Sox Lose World Series To Cubs" is probably worse.
  10. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 4, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) Yeah, I have Antichrist Superstar. I didn't really like anything else on it. It's a true dust collector. I agree, aside from that one song (I guess, the fact that I don't remember it at all and don't remember the title kind of shows the holes in my defending anything the guy has done...). But all of Manson's stuff eventually becomes "dust collectors". I like them all at first...but then they just fade from the memory and I lose 100% interest in them.
  11. There was a song on Anti-Christ Superstar that was much better than "Beautiful People", but it never made it out as a single. Much more aggresive and "hooky" actually. Have you heard that full length? Manson is one of the most "hit or miss" artists to ever work, IMO. When he is good, he is REAL good, but when he is bad, he's terribly boring. The new one has a couple of good tracks, but is more "in one ear, out the other" than anything else. The guitar tone is killer on most tracks though. When he is "rocking" it carries a very Alice Cooper feel to it due to those guitars.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) Where it is located dick. Now there are all sorts of restaurants there, when i was growing up, it was a tire shop. And Yorktown wasnt the mall white people used to go to.
  13. Listening to the new Marilyn Manson right now. The first song was cool, but the second one is boring the piss out of me.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 3, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) blandest food ever, but huge portions. I think, I'm not sure, but I think, the main part of the story was the Thome bit. Like I said, I think that was what the topic was really meant to be.

    The Office

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 3, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) “I know women. I know the crap outta them.” That was such a great line!
  16. QUOTE(Brian @ May 3, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) I know you're not totally serious, but harsh none the less. I can't decide if I hate her or I hate the idiots that think she is important enough to photograph and write about. Yeah, I wasn't serious. I know they don't give the death penalty for such little crimes. But a boy can dream.
  17. Any chance she can get the death penalty?
  18. I bet LaKisha goes home next week. The end will be Jordin Vs. Morlock. Blake will survive another week by getting the "he's good" votes and the "last hot guy standing" votes. Blake is probably felling a little out of place at the AI house for the next few weeks I would guess.
  19. Anybody else think Deal Or No Deal is fake? I don't believe that the friends and family are really friends and family. It seems so dang scripted.
  20. Never been. Never plan to go. Not even the slightest little interest.
  21. It has nothing to do with popularity, trust me. I just can't stand them. Never could. I know they are not the same as Poison and Warrant, trust me, I know. Notice the "title" under my avatar, then take a look at my magazine. I kind of understand the genre.
  22. I loved the guy! A definite fave when he would walk on screen. RIP.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) This thread assured me of something. That I never want to meet Critic. I've met him on numerous occasions. Keep with your train of thought, you'll be much better for it.
  24. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 2, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Oh jeez, is it still fashionable to hate on Bon Jovi 20 years later? Hate to say it, these guys have endured and are considered classic rock just as much as Aerosmith. They never considered themselves among the same groups as Poison, Winger and Warrant. I loathed them in '86, and I still do. I don't care if it is "fashonable". If I think they suck and have always sucked, I don't give a rats ass what anybody else thinks. If you haven't caught on by now, I couldn't care less what the world thinks is "good" or "bad" and I have no time in my life to like something or dislike something just because I should.
