  1. As for the recorded stuff, don't forget that Sanjaya probably gets run through computers and there is pitch control all over that stuff. He and Robinson are the two that REALLY need the pitch control. Last night was terrible. I am soooo bored by that show. I hardly pay attention at all now. But the family all sits together, so it's now more ritual than enjoyment. Nobody even watches the TV. It's just on in the background. Somebody on another board pointed out that Melinda looks like a Morlock from the original movie version of The Time Machine.
  2. Maybe we can give Moose a real job.
  3. Rock, your avatar rules. There, I've said it.
  4. PFB...that's funny! We need more grinders. Somebody needs to call Caruso. Or Chris Snopek.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) The scorching Arlington heat gets absorbed into their skin so when they play in cold weather it actually feels about 20 degrees warmer for them than a team that plays in predominately cold climates. Ah, thanks, I was never good with science.
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) I must have missed the memo here... Why should we respect Sosa again? Because he is "grinding his way back"?
  7. People are talking about the cold being a factor? Do these people realize a team from TEXAS just kicked our butts?
  8. I'm going back to lacrosse. Oh...damn...that was the last game of their season.
  9. Damn...why did I walk away from my TV??? Sounds like it is getting exciting out there.
  10. But Ozzie's main skill for last year and this year has been to hype up the opposing teams and speak highly of them. He's just sticking to Ozzie Post Series. Just wait, soon he will start going on about how good of a team Texas has and he will hope they go easy on the Sox. He will soon speak about what a monster player Sosa is, and how his bat scares him.
  11. Thanks. Oh, I would guess that the outdoor variety is gearing up soon? Where does the pro-team in Chicago play?
  12. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 02:58 AM) And I've never heard of dancers/cheerleaders at any lacrosse game... That's terrible. Yeah, they have about as many "extra" things going on as in basketball. Anytime a time out is called people run out to throw stuff into the stands, or somebody running around gets onto the "jumbo-tron" to speak to us. In between every period (quarter...inning...whatever they call it) the cheerleaders (dancers...whatever) come out and do a routine. Thanks for the info about the shots. I'm pretty interested in this stuff now. It really was a very cool time. My wife is seriously hooked. She wants one of the jerseys. I told her maybe after we go to a few more games. Those things are $160! I haven't paid that much for any of my Sox stuff yet!
  13. "Bright Eyes"??? Is he a Planet Of The Apes fan or what?
  14. Going to bed last night after the game, they were showing some college lacrosse on TV. There is quite the difference. Is there a big difference in the balls used? The indoor goalies use those HUGE chest protectors and HUGE shin guards. But in the outdoor variety the goalies seem to use no form of protection. Do the outdoor guys scoff at the indoor guys like they do in football? The announcer for the Shamrox got a little annoying. He spent the whole time with fun little sayings and telling the audience to get up and all that junk. If he needs to talk the whole time, it would be cool if he would explain just what the heck is going on down there. The dancers. Ugh. One of the many things I love about the baseball is the lack of cheerleaders.
  15. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070415/ap_en_mu/obit_ho Such a shame.
  16. QUOTE(Soxy @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) I think it will come down to Chicago or Rio--but people love Chicago. I think it has a great international reputation, and I've yet to talk to a person from another country who visits Chicago and is disappointed. Plus, doesn't Rio have a bit of a crime problem? But the world hates America.
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 01:03 AM) Me and some friends (assuming we're all alive then) have already made plans to go to Hawaii for that summer -- assuming we get the games. No way in hell I'm going though the mayhem/chaos that will come with the olympics being held here. But traffic is so much fun around and in the city right now! Do you think we could get the Sox games all moved out of town for that summer. I would be cool if they just moved to Kane County, or better yet, the Rockford ballpark.
  18. Thanks for those little bits of info. Just got home. Pretty good stuff, but it ain't no baseball. But yeah, pretty fun time. The Sears Center is really nice, aside from the seats being a little crammed together. Plenty of leg room, but the folks sitting next to you sit as close to you as at Wrigley. But the seats are comfy. The game itself it pretty fast, and totally confusing of you don't understand it. There is a buttload of fighting. It seems every few minutes somebody is heading into the penalty box. The goalie for Philly had to leave the game due to injury. His replacement was kind of bad. All in all, we paid $5 a ticket, so really good time for so little money. We plan to go more often next year.
  19. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) I vote for replacing the "El" with a more modern "cleaner" looking transportation system.
  20. Just ask yourself: What would Sanjaya do?
  21. I bet Rome gets it. The Pope will promise everybody on the committee gets in to Heaven if they do it there.
  22. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) http://www.chicagoshamrox.com/www/team/dance/index.html Ha, the majority of them are Sox fans. One Brewers fan.
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) The Sears Centre is a great 'small' venue. I think you'll like it. Cool! Though I still miss Poplar Creek. What is the reference to the cheerleaders? They hot and swanky?
  24. But this doesn't mean that Chicago gets it though, right? This just means that Chicago is the city that the US Olympics committee backs in the pledge to get the 2016, right?
  25. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) Haha, sorry. Not a dig on you, I enjoyed the story because I can somewhat relate to it. It was a dig on how bad our offense is. Heh...fixed the original post anyways.
