  1. Is that what the music was last night? Bon Jovi??? Good Lord...what Hell has been unleashed on this earth???
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 2, 2007 -> 07:13 AM) I didn't realized he was married. I've been gone so long. Thought he had been married for years. Also, in response to Ribbie, I had always heard Ebert was less than "nice". There is no shortage of Gene or him being fairly rude to the public stories. I always took it as they were just regular guys who became famous, but really didn't want all the crap that went with being famous.
  3. Let me ask this: The people voting awesome blossoms and the Red Robin goofy tower, have you had a Hackney's Onion Loaf? Seriously, the tower thingy is just some beer battered rings on a skewer. Anyplace serving beer batter is just as good. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a beer batter ring as much as anybody, but they aren't that unusual.
  4. Reading the article, it sounds like he is thrilled to be alive still just so he can still write and watch movies, and be around loved ones. I have a feeling that losing Gene probably opened his eyes to a lot of things. I mean, he probably never really realized how much he cared for the guy until he was about to pass away, so he probably got a new view then. Now with his current situation his views on life have probably intensified that much more. How many people of such high profile would be willing to go in front on the public looking as he does now? I would bet not many unless they had learned the value of just being alive.
  5. That kind of stuff makes me cry. I'll admit it. I don't agree with "Humans are incredible". More like "some people are incredible". Humans as a whole REALLY suck.
  6. Yeah, Hackneys. They ain't "rings", but they are the best form of an onion ever. I've heard God is even pissed he didn't think of making them like that. They also have the best burgers in the world though.
  7. This was posted on one of the film boards I frequent. It seems Rog is slowly getting back to the world. The man appears to have been to hell and back in the most severe way, but he is turning out to be quite inspirational. Who woulda thunk it? http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/355049,...ebert24.article
  8. I would probably find it funny if Bonds bought Beckett a Ferrari. I find it kind of funny Hunter bought the booze. There was no bribe.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 12:27 AM) Well, I have no clue why the B-52s would jock her. It seems to me that 20, 15 even 10 years ago, alt/indie rock had to be different AND good. In the last 8-5 years it seems like it's trying so hard to be different, but it's forgotten that it has to be good. That's how Ono goes from being unlistenable to icon. And yet somehow the B-52's made it 25 years.
  10. I must have missed something, what is with the champaign comments? Nevermind.
  11. I saw just the Jordin part of the results. That "result" show was the death of that BS for me. Stupid ass show.
  12. Well that sucks. I waited for months for this friggin' thing to come on, convince my wife to watch it with me, she gets hooked, and now they pull it? I admit it wasn't as great as the commercials looked like it was going to be, but it is still a cool show. The main problem is a severe lack of truely likable characters. I can't say I actually like or care about any of them, with the exception of Charles Martin Smith's character, but that guy is friggin' great in anything he does. When I saw he was in it, I knew the show was going to be atleast decent.
  13. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) I was kidding, you old fogies... I've been called an "old fogie"!!!
  14. QUOTE(Beltin @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:31 AM) I saw Moe Berg talking to the Dalai Lama. He hasn't been very good since he broke up The Pursuit Of Happiness.
  15. No, it's the "preferably a sample" that has me confused.
  16. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) Dope beat, preferably a sample, and a catchy hook.

    Sick

    That is soooo wrong. Heavenly Creatures.
  18. The Miller Lite, or Bud Light commercials were they brag about more flavor than the competition always bugged me. Just because you have "more flavor" does not mean you are better. I am pretty sure a glass of piss has "more flavor" than a glass of water, but I'll take the water every time. How about just saying "better flavor"?
  19. My house has bailed on it. My daughter was relieved when I said I didn't want to watch it. So, we turned on the Wii and spent a night playing each other in baseball and bowling, then we read for an hour. It was so much more enjoyable. I had a feeling Ryan would be on the "we are saviors" kick.
  20. With all the past that the Wii is capable of playing, and then with the addition of stuff such as the Marvel Alliance game, plus other future games, and the ability to use 3 or 4 different controllers, it seems that the Wii is shooting to appeal to many different segments of game play, and possibly create people who will become gamers. To me it seems like the most well rounded system on the market.

    QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) Official run. And well worth the investment Cool. What issue are we on now?
  22. For me, I can't possibly say. Each song works on its own. Sometimes it's great music, sometimes great vocals, sometimes all of the above. I can say that they lyrics have never been the sole reason. There is no great song just because the lyrics are great. The lyrics can be bad with great music and still have it work. But you can't have bad music with great lyrics and still be a good song. That's why somebody invented poetry, because they couldn't play an instrument or they just sucked at music.

    QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) I just read the Wikipedia recap. Sounds like a fun series. It's been 10 years since I've read anything with regularity, so apart from a trade paperback that catches my eye here and there, I miss most everything. I had stopped reading for years also. Though when I was last into it I was reading all indies, aside from Judge Dredd. But recently I have fallen so head over heals in love with the Marvel Essential lines that I have decided to start picking up titles here and there. I just grabbed a few issues of Daredevil. I never gave any time to the old Marvels, due mainly to the outrageous prices on them. So these Essentials are friggin' awesome in learning what they did way back when. There is some serious cheese at times (cover to cover with Ghost Rider), but it's also fun seeing how they all changed. I'm reading volume 1 of Iron Man right now. Dear Mr. Stark is all ready showing signs of falling apart, and we haven't even made it out of the Tales Of Suspense years yet! I've been tempted to pick up the Zombie line...but am hesitant. Is it a full official run, or is it an excuse to make a graphic novel?
