Does anybody in this world like Jesse Jackson at all? I've never heard anybody say anything good about that piece of s**t. I would also like to go on record as to being somebody who detests the word c**t. It's actually the only word in the English language I refuse to ever use in any way. ***gasp*** Think about what that means!!!

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 09:06 PM) Play it upside down, and the world is your oyster. Plus, any guitar shop worth anything can easily "flip" the set-up for you. You might have to pay a bit more for it, but if you find a guitar you want, you find a guitar you want.

Guitars are funny. The price doesn't always matter, nor does the quality. I have a $1500 Alvarez Yarie 12 string. Gorgeous guitar, sings like a dream. Plays pretty darn nice too, for a 12 string. It's been kept in her case and pampered. I have a $150 Alvarez 6 string, beaten to hell and has never seen the inside of a case. Scratched, dinged, worn. Laminate top (the evil stuff people will warn you about). It's also damn near the greatest sounding guitar I have ever heard for Blues, and especially slide work. I have a very nice Epiphone Blues Deluxe. People will tell you Epiphone (modern era) are crap guitars. The ones from when Gibson first bought Epiphone suffered from people not caring. Eventually it turned to crap parts and people not caring. Now though there are some nice instruments. Mine is one of them. Great guitar. Oh yeah...and it's a laminate top. My main guitar, the love of my guitar world, is my 1974 Hagstrom Viking 1N. Not a top of the line by any means, but what an incredible guitar. They went out of business for about 20 years, but have just returned and are supposedly beautiful. I plan to buy a reissue Viking soon. They also make an affordable line of acoustics. I am also one of the people that recommend starting on electric. You might pay a little bit more, but they are easier to play for the most part. I have heard tons of great press for this company. Many people are trying to figure out how these guys are making great guitars for such an affordable price. Recently Gibson has been turning out crap quality, but these guys are doing a great job. I myself would love to get one of their Les Paul copies: http://www.rondomusic.net/

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) I was listening to that song last night. Wasn't Bow Wow Wow, Adam and the Ants without Adam and with a female singer? I believe the answer is "yes"...somewhat. I think it was Marco, the guitarist with maybe another member. From what I can tell, the history of The Ants is kind of all over the place, kind of like their music. They were so "hit or miss". But you are right, there is a connection between the two bands.

Yesterday sucked. Let's see if Chumley can do better today. The starting tune, to set the thing off right is going to be "Stand And Deliver" by Adam And The Ants. Now, on with the shuffle: Zeal Of A Convert - GBH (another track off the last album!?! What the hell is going on here???) In Time - Uniform Choice (*sigh*...somebody is still is a Punk mood, cool ass song though) Rock, Rock 'Til You Drop - Def Leppard (never thought I would be so happy to hear Leppard!) Real Long Way - Tattooed Love Boys (O.K., things seem to have "righted" themselves) Gone Fishing - Too Much Joy Honky Tonk Slide - Go Fast! Anti-Cop - TSOL Whole Lotta Shakin' - Georgia Sattellites Dream Police - Cheap Trick Trauma School - Trauma School Dropouts Bonus tune: NIGHTMARE MAN - CALLING ALL DESTROYERS!!! (local Chicago band, you have to see them if you can!!!) www.myspace.com/callingalldestroyers

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) I shall eschew the pedantic turkey this thanksgiving in lieu of more exotic fare. Say hello to Vegan Sloppy Joes! I'm going to puke. They made out of tofu???

But a divorce is quite different than being heckled. My sister is going through utter hell, and I guessing that Richards situation at that moment was not the same. I'm thinking he will find a spot on Blue Collar TV within a week.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) I'm with Jenks and LCR on this one. America will always try to find something to complain about. I do not think Michael Richards is a racist. I do think he was intoxicated and frustrated, and all the hate came out. Like LCR said, those aholes who decided to heckle him that night just chose the wrong night and he snapped. If it was a Asian, Latino, or Caucasion that was heckling him, they would have got it just as bad too. It happened to be african american and he snapped. And for reference, I am one of Carlos Mencia's biggest fans. People who don't like his comedy are the real racists. Listen to what he says, but before you do, knock down that wall you have that completely disregards and racial issues that are talked about, and really, REALLY listen to what he says. I dare anyone to tell me he's wrong. Ummmm, what is your definition of a "racist"?

Like people have said though, it isn't the use of the "N" word. It's the pure anger in his voice and the statement about lynching. "The Man" bit, IMO, was his continuing to make it into social commentary, but failing miserably. Hammerhead, I know what he was meaning, it was just such an odd thing to say. I don't think Richards is a bigot. I think he has some prejudice (duh...I know), and I think the guy got it right, he knows he is washed up and is probably frustrated beyond belief. 10 years ago he was on top of the world, that night he was being heckled and he had probably finally had it. Just a guess though.
-
...except lynchings didn't happen with the person hanging upside down with forks up their butts. But...yeah...I guess he still meant lynchings.

Is this system's name REALLY pronounced "we"???

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) (In your best John Lovitz voice) It's Ak-ting! Well, yeah, but he plays himself and is looking for chicks.

Had the fried version a few years ago. Eh, not for me. I'm not a huge turkey fan anyway, but the fried version just didn't live up to the hype.
-
Yeah, last week. Kind of ruins his scenes in Harold and Kumar if you ask me.

Whoa! The film boards will be buzzing today like mad!

Ain't What You Do - The Cherry Bombz (eh, one of the weaker songs...not a promising start) Circle One - The Germs (one of the most overrated 70's Punk bands...this really isn't going well) The Desire Of Poverty - GBH (off the last GBH album...so not their strongest material...sigh) Suckerpunch - The Wildhearts (phew...there ya go!!!) She's A Woman - Chet Atkins Die Hard - 7 Seconds (some little iPod is in a Punk mood today...) Visions And? - Government Issue (great song...but man...what the heck is going on here?) Spit It Out - Jeff Dahl This Time - Humble Pie (something off of the non-Marriott release!?! This Pod is not winning points with me...) One last chance ya little bastard... Marilyn - Dave Kusworth (O.K., that's a fine ending...Dave rules) The good thing about this shuffle is it has let me realize that I need to clean some songs out of here. I've never enjoyed The Germs, with the exception of "No God"...so why the heck do I have them on here???

Given the nature of Richards controversy right now, and where the Letterman Show is taped, it may have been strategy to try and keep the audience in the dark. If they did know full well what it was all about, the reaction may have been a bit more vocal and Richards may not have gotten a word in. It was obvious that the audience had no idea what was going on. Letternan isn't live, right?

Anybody know of any good stand-up comedy blogs? Ya know the kind I am talking about...the kind that are taking the blogging world by storm.

I've only seen a little bit of Mancia's act, but it was enough to keep me away from it.
-
Finally got it to work. That, my friends, is the death of a career. He has been struggling to get anything to work since that little TV show was on, but this is it. It's the anger in his voice that is so shocking. It's not just rambling, it's pure anger/hatred.

Mark my words...MARK MY WORDS!!!

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Just think of him saying the "n" word roughly 20-25 times.... that about sums it up. Nachos?

I can't get any sound out of the video.
