  1. There was a game last year where Cease lost it in his last inning and loaded the bases with two outs. They went to Reylo, and he came in and got the K in 3 or 4 pitches. Seemed to be huge for his confidence then, hope it helps him find himself here too.
  2. This was the Luis AB before Tim's ejection. 3 and 4 were called strikes. And then that last call to Gavin...
  3. Meh, he pitched a scoreless 2IP against them in game 1 when everyone else got shelled.
  4. I got the impression that it was the following AB that really set him off. He wasn't yelling at Webb.
  5. I mean, the calls on Robert were obscene though.
  6. Don't envy the AAA team that's going to be facing Liam and Crochet in their rehab starts soon.
  7. Two pitches, same amount off the plate, two different calls.
  8. Karinchak walked off by the A's. Second time in the series that Cleveland's backend guys have given up 9th inning runs in Oakland. It's almost like bullpen arms can be a little volatile to start the season...
  9. Sosa just hit another, first pitch swinging.
  10. Working fine for me on Chrome desktop.
  11. Billy bunt single, Haseley reach on error, and a Sosa bomb puts the Knights up 3-0 through 3. Stiever pitched 2 scoreless, Perez pitched the 3rd. Top Cleveland prospect Bo Naylor is starting at catcher on the other side.
  12. Cease was topping out at like 95 in his last ST start. Came out and averaged 97+ in the opener. Clevinger also gained a couple mph from his last spring appearance. Kopech hit 95-96mph even in that last inning, it just wasn't consistent. So if this was effectively him "catching up" with the rest of the guys after a delayed ramp up, it's not wild to think his velo will increase/stabilize.
  13. Oh no, I guess the Cleveland bullpen is also irredeemably bad now! Clase blows a 2 run save to the A's with 2 outs.
  14. 6ER in 1+ IP, someone better tell them a bad SP performance in game 5 ends the season. Not sure they can take Plesac out of the rotation until McKenzie is back. They already have Gaddis trying to fill in a spot.
  15. Looks like a lot of wild scores around the league today. Are the balls different again? Or maybe it's just "first start for your 5th starter" day...
  16. Johnny "I don't understand why Hahn didn't keep" Cueto followed up 11ER in 3.2IP in spring with a 3ER/2IP loss in his WBC start. Then he was briefly sidelined with an arm injury. Now 1+ IP into his first start, he's given up 4 runs on two HR in the relatively pitcher friendly LoanDepot Park and is being pulled from the game. Although he was great last year and is personally very likeable, I thought it was a perfectly rational decision at the time to not count on a repeat of last year from him.
  17. Early test for Grifol to see how the team responds after this one.
