  1. Barons put their Trust in Tristan in his AA debut, so he stayed in for top 10 after questionable defense gave up the tying run top 9. He pays them back with a scoreless frame, stranding the free runner. Barons fail to score in the bottom half (pop out, Tatum IBB, Popeye GIDP). Top 11 starts with a leadoff walk that also advanced the runner to 3rd on a WP. But then a strikeout, and a fly ball to center right which would have scored the go ahead run if not for a fantastic throw home by Cespedes for the inning ending DP. Bottom 11 starts with a Ramos single to center that probably should have scored Popeye from 2nd, but he held up. A walk to load the bases, and then Mieses walks it off with a base hit down the LF line. Fun win for Bham against the best team in their league. Lots of scouts in attendance apparently, for the Marlins pitching prospect that started the game.
  2. The Brew Crew decided the Reds and their fans were having too much fun. They secure the series with 3 consecutive shutout victories, including 44K across the 27IP.
  3. Bases loaded double down the LF line from Popeye grabs an 8-6 lead in the 8th for the Baron's. Ramos follows with a sac fly to shallow right that scores Tatum from 3rd. Tatum had to use all of his speed to make it, but thankfully he's got plenty. Barons lead 9-6, with 8 unanswered runs since being down 1-6.
  4. Decent AA Debut for Cannon: 4IP, 3R (2ER), 3K, 3BB.
  5. Popeye ?
  6. Schultz got into and then out of some trouble in the 2nd. Ump did him no favors when it comes to avoiding deep counts, so he gets pulled at 53 pitches in the 3rd: 2.1IP, 4H, 5K, 1BB. Also:
  7. Happy Noah Schultz Day to all who observe. Curious to see if they clear him to work a bit deeper today.
  8. Nice outing from Mena tonight: 6IP, 2ER, 3H, 5K, 2BB. One run was a solo shot, the other was scored on a "double" that really should have been fielded for an out.
  9. WS is on the road vs. Asheville, which means no streams/highlights for the series. 1st inning walks for Montgomery and Burke, who extends the on base streak to 46.
  10. Still proud of our guy, nice to see him push himself out of his comfort zone a bit. He hit one 484ft, the longest tracked HR in T-Mobile per Statcast. He made the ASG. And he did it all after turning in 87(!!!) first half starts in CF.
  11. His power is so easy it's insane
  12. "Fan voting" robbed us of an Arozarena/Robert Jr/Garcia outfield tomorrow, and I'm still upset about it.
  13. Cueto activated from the IL, but hasn't shown enough to earn a rotation spot.
  14. Angels leaning into guys they can call up quick I guess?
  15. Yeah, they've been a great duo. He piggy backed the last Schultz start too, and that outing was even better than this one (6IP/11K scoreless). And unlike the Sox, tonight Kanny wins a game where their pitching struck out 14, 2-1.
  16. He's only there for 7-10 games AFAIK.
  17. Some bright spots on the farm after a bleak showing by the big league club. 3 more no hit innings for Schultz, 3K and 35 pitches. Allowed one baserunner on a HBP in the first. Mena struggled with command in the first, but seems to be settling in. The Knights are teeing off on Cueto, including Sosa with a HR and 1B. Burke pushed his on base streak to 45 with a walk. Colson already 2-2, including a 2 RBI double. Cannon should be pitching the 3rd or 4th in the Futures Game shortly.
