MLB Rosters
Two things that jump out at me: 1. Ben Davis © on Yankees Roster 2. The Royals added two tough young arms (with problems) from the AL West: Madritsch and Perallta.

what reporter does the best job covering the sox?
I like Scott Merkin of whitesox.com and Gregor of the Herald.

Red Sox trade for Coco Crisp
Looking into this trade further... It sounds like there is more to this deal. Sounds like the Tribe may be trading prospects to Boston as well (possibly Garko).

Red Sox trade for Coco Crisp
I understand everyone loves the potential of Marte... thus saying that the Tribe wins this deal, but is anyone else wondering about Marte's injury? Marte supposedly has an elbow problem which will most likely lead to surgery. With that being said, I think Coco Crisp is a very good player. I am not sad to see him leave our division at all. For the time being: The Red Sox are better from this trade, and the Tribe is not. For the future: Only time will tell.

Tejada not coming here, whew.
The key here to me is this statement. ''That's not going to happen,'' Williams said, confirming that the Orioles did call this week. "'We were told there wasn't a fit.'' That to me sounds like Baltimore was the one to say no to the Sox.

Kris Honel
Kris Honel lives in my town and goes to our local fitness center. It is true that he did have the Tommy John Surgery, but as far as his health status goes right now, I am unsure of that. I know for a fact that he is throwing frequently... but I don't believe that he is near 100% healthy yet.

In teh spirit of the holidays, can anyone help me?
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) The quality of the broadcast IMO sucks. I would wait for the DVD. They arent even putting out a HD signal. I too can't believe the poor quality of the re-broadcast. I really miss watching it in HD. Oh well... the DVD set will be out soon.

Chris Rongey is new Pre/Post Game Host.
I think this move will be okay. I will miss Dolgin... just like I missed big Dave... but the Score could do a lot worse than Rongey. Thank God it is not Rogers. Welcome Aboard to pre/post Rongey.

Wille Harris & Timo Perez=Gone
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) He's sure to beat out Mark Loretta and Tony Graffanino! I obviously don't think he can either, but I am just telling you what I have heard. I am sure they will tell him that, and then just use him as a utility player, but you never know.
-
Wille Harris & Timo Perez=Gone
To add to the list of teams interested in Willie... I have heard the Red Sox are interested in signing Willie to compete for their Second Base Job. Yikes!

I think something big is going down...
Sign me up for wanting Tejada no matter what the price tag is. I firmly believe Miguel Tejada is the 2nd or 3rd Most Valuable Player in all of baseball.

Sox Acquire Javier Vazquez
QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) I think it's more like.. the other MLB clubs aren't as enamored with Owens as they are Young. If anyone watch the AFL, how could you not be high on Owens. Also, Young struggled in the AFL.
-
Sox Acquire Javier Vazquez
note 1: Cotts won't be dealt in any deal. note 2: This trade (if it goes down) shows just how much the Sox are in love with Jerry Owens.

Damaso Marte could be headin to the Dodgers
From the LA Times: The Pirates have increased their efforts to trade for outfielder Milton Bradley, a source said. The Dodgers could get a left-handed reliever in return because the Pirates are overstocked after acquiring Damaso Marte from the Chicago White Sox. Left-hander Mike Gonzalez is expected to compete for the Pirate closer role and John Grabow is a top setup reliever

Merloni might help friend Nomar pick Tribe
I guess my only thought on this topic would be... If Merloni helps the Tribe get Nomar... I don't think the Tribe will still need the services of Merloni. Hopefully Lou Merloni has thought about this as well.

UPDATE: Tejada never wanted trade
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) Too much. Uribe, Sweeney, Harris, Liotta for Tejada and cash. Tejada is a Stud with a fair contract, and the O's aren't looking to rebuild. I think it would take atleast Garland and either multiple can't miss prospects, or other solid MLBers with cheap contracts.
-
UPDATE: Tejada never wanted trade
I personally love Miguel Tejada. How about Jon Garland, Juan Uribe, and Ryan Sweeney for Miguel Tejada and Eric Bedard (or Daniel Cabrera)

Do you like the Marte trade?
I am one of the people who voted for NO. Sure I like Rob Mackowiak as a utility player... but not at the price of Damaso Marte. I agree Damaso fell on rough times this year, but I don't think that trend will continue. Marte is a quality left handed reliever. I cringe at the thought of having Mike Myers on this team. Mike Myers blows. I would have much rather gone into this season with Marte and a guy like Jose Vizcaino or even Jose "manos" Valentin. My feelings could be soothed on this trade depending on who gets added to the pen... but I don't see this move as making our team better.
-
Marte GONE!
I just want to go on record and say I do not want to trade Damaso Marte. I know this isn't the popular opinion, but I feel Marte is a solid lefty out of the pen. Cotts is our number one lefty now, and Marte may make a little much for a number two lefty... but with the money that relievers are getting this offseason, I would rather hang on to Damaso than deal him.

Another Trade is going down
Ray King is heading to the Rockies Former White Sox player Aaron Miles and Larry Bigbie are heading to the Cardinals. That is all I have heard so far.
