  1. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) FWIW, Borchard is not in the lineup tonight for the Knights. You know what that means! Borchard is on the 40 man correct?
  2. I am sure this is just a tease to get more viewers for the 10 o clock show. It will probably just be a lot of "what Bruce thinks is going to happen."
  3. Going to Triple A for the Mets to audition for the Big League team? OK. Sure he can get called up before September 1st to be added to the playoff roster, but I am pretty sure the Mets are going to be watching the playoffs on TV.
  4. I am so proud of the way our "back three" pitched in this series against the Yankees. The two former Yankees battled, and did a great job, but I think Freddy Garcia again proved how awesome he is in big games (and day games). I know alot of people around baseball caught a glimpse of this series, and were able to see how any of our five starters can be counted. Great Defense. Great Pitching.
  5. Southsider you are correct. If a player is not on the 40 man, they can't be waived...they don't have to been waived. For Example: The Mike Remlinger trade to the BoSox for a minor league arm.
  6. I am amazed with the talent and composure he is showing. He is only 19 years old. YIKES!
  7. The Indians were down 7-2 going to the ninth... THEY SCORED 11 RUNS... 11 RUNS in the top of the ninth, and now lead 13-7. Man the Royals BLOW.
  8. Middle of the 1st, already 5-0 Red Sox. With the Score 4-0, Runners on 1st and 2nd, and only one out, A fly ball out was hit to Shannon Stewart who caught the ball and threw it into the stands thinking it was the third out. Each runner was allowed two bases... allowing another run to score. LOL
  9. Bret Boone was told last night that he is being released by the Twins. Boone hit just .170 since the trade and seemed to understand. ''I played (crappy),'' he said. ''I haven't played anywhere close to how I've played in the past. I'm as disappointed as anyone with my performance.'' Expect the official word to come down today
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:08 AM) especially without a link or a hard source (no offense to topic starter) No Offense taken... But I guess you can see I trusted my source.
  11. I have heard another suspension due to Steroids will be handed out shortly. Speculation is that this will be the biggest "name" yet. MLB will wait until Monday, after the HOF Inductions are done, to spill the details.
  12. The guys I want to keep the most are: Young, Sweeney, and Valido The guys I see as most likely to go are: Anderson, BMac, Baj
  13. I don't root for the Twins... and love to see them lose... but I hate to see anyone get injured. Torii Hunter looks to be hurt bad.
  14. Detroit Radio is reporting the Tigers and Marlins are talking about a deal for Burnett... but the Tigers won't meet the demands of the Marlins wanting Curtis Granderson in the deal.
  15. Detroit Radio is reporting the Tigers and Marlins are talking about a deal for Burnett... but the Tigers won't meet the demands of the Marlins wanting Curtis Granderson in the deal.
  16. This is not new info. This info is in the Current Sports Weekly. I hope this deal happens... but I think if it does, it won't be till Saturday at the earliest.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) If we did all these moves, you could say bye to McCarthy, Anderson, and Sweeney or Young, and likely a few more players. Basically, all these moves aren't happening. The Devil Rays don't need OFs. They have Young, Crawford, Gomes, Gathright, Baldelli. You might see one of Anderson or Sweeney end up in Tampa Bay. but I would think a more likely scenario would see McCarthy, or other good pitching prospects heading that way.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) That's Joe's fault. THis inning should be over. Tough to give a good team 4 outs. Well. They're not good. A decent hitting team. All Teams make errors (Irod's Throwing Error in the First that allowed Iguchi to go to third), it just takes a good pitcher to pick his teammates up.
  19. The Indians just got robbed. Dubois is made to be a DH, but Hafner has that spot locked up for the next 10 years. Good Move for the Cubs.
  20. Well El Duque is starting tonight... and we still haven't heard of Jenks being sent down to make room for him. I am convinced the Sox are trying to make this happen, but I thought Shingo had a no trade clause. If it is possible, I'd like to see a deal for Scott Hairston, or Alex Cintron, or Matt Kata
  21. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2107378 Trade are rolling now.

  23. Just decided to head to Cleveland for the upcoming games. I need some help from anyone that has done the trip before. 1. How far is the Airport from the Stadium. (can I just take a taxi or do I need to rent a car) 2. Is there any place to stay around the Stadium. 3. Are there many people outside the stadium selling tickets? (I'd like to get great seats...like right behind the Sox dugout. Do I have a chance or should I just buy the tickets off of ticketmaster) Need help folks. Thanks In Advance.
  24. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) This is a joke. Griffey is nowhere near where Rowand is right now in speed, athleticism, and strength. And he hasnt been for the past 5 years. Since Griffey has been in Cincinnatti, he has played 145 games, 111 games, 70, 53, and 83 games. Most of the games missed due to major injuries to his legs. He is fragile, and knows he cannot run full speed without blowing out a hamstring again and it shows. He doesnt make gold glove catches out there anymore, he barely can lay out for a fly ball anymore. When Griffey was in Seattle, sure there is no comparison. But right now Rowand is by far the superior fielder, and I dont expect that to change. http://www.basketballdraft.com/2004/scorec...fense.outfield/ In 2001, Junior suffered a hamstring injury during spring training that limited him to a handful of at-bats early in the regular season and shelved him completely until June, Torn Right Patellar Tendon(2002), Torn Right Hamstring(2004), Dislocated Right Shoulder(2003) After four years with the Reds, Griffey had played in only 58% of his team's games, and hit no higher than .286. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=4305 Lets stop living in the past. Griffey cant play a full season anymore, and cant make it to october healthy, rendering him useless to the White Sox. Have You Seen Griffey play this season? Griffey is having a very good year. I am sure you have seen Rowand play this season. What exactly has Rowand done this year to make him "Aaron Almighty" in your eyes.
