QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) You are wrong. That was a poorly managed game of Busty Baker proportions. My dad doesn't even watch much baseball and even he couldn't understand what the hell Ozzie was thinking. I would like to know what you are thinking then... How would you have done it differently?
-
I think all of you need to take a step back and relax. I think Ozzie handled today fine. You guys never see the whole picture. EVERYONE of you is yelling about how Ozzie should have got Hermanson to face Quinlan, but NONE of you stop to think that the Angels would have then batted Erstad. I, like Ozzie, would rather take my chances on Quinlan, who up to that point had ZERO HITS with runners in scoring position. We are fans... It looks so much easier from the stands, or on television, but we don't know the whole situation. I get tired of all the bashing around here... especially the stuff today that is aimed at Ozzie. Just my two cents.

I'd like to have the Rangers... if they are taken, I'd be happy with any team. Thanks.

FROM ROTOWORLD: Nationals placed RHP Jon Rauch on the 15-day disabled list with a torn right labrum. Woah! Since when? Some additional details would be nice. Rauch already had one shoulder surgery back in 2001, and he never recovered fully. If he has to go under the knife again, then his future looks bleak.

My Grandpa is 78, My Father is 52... both White Sox Fans who like me have never experienced just one World Series Win. I would give just about anything to win even just once.
-
I WOULD TRADE EVERY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM COMBINED FOR ANY ONE PLAYER THAT COULD GET US A WORLD SERIES RING. I WOULD TAKE 1 WORLD SERIES RING FOLLOWED BY 100 LAST PLACE SEASONS. I JUST WANT TO WIN. WIN ONE. WIN SOMETHING. WIN NOW.

All this talk reminds me of all of the Jeremy Reed lovers who were ready to end it all when he got dealt with Olivo for Freddy Garcia. If there is a way to get Chavez do it.
-
Put me down for Definitely wanting this deal to happen (though I know it never will). To get Eric Chavez would be amazing. I am a huge Joe Crede fan (unlike most of you), and I am excited by the thoughts of BMac in the rotation... but to add a guy like Chavez would be top notch. A Left Handed Heart of the Order Hitter who is the best defensive 3rd baseman in the AL. Bring On This Trade!!! I know its never gonna happen.

Danny Graves designated for assigment
JDsDirtySox replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in The Diamond Club
No Team will claim him at that price tag. I would guess he will be released, then signed by another team. -
Dan Patrick reporting Danny Graves has been designated for assignment. Wow... didn't see that one coming.

Brandon McCarthy To Make Major League Debut

This is just a wild situation. No One in the Chicago Media has any idea of what is going on. -
I would recommend catching the Red Line in China Town (about 1 mile North of the Cell). If you can get to the Cell, you can get to China Town. The Red Line is right there... and it drops you off right at Wrigley. The Red Line is cheap and parking is half the price of anywhere around Wrigley. Just my suggestion. PM Me if you need any more help.

I posted this in around the horn too, but I wanted to put it in here where I knew everyone would see it. I wouldn't touch Jimenez with a 10 foot pole, but tell me this... Would you rather have Timo or Singleton? Reds designated infielder D'Angelo Jimenez for assignment. Can Eric Milton be far behind? OK, maybe that's a reach. Jimenez has a $2.87 million contract, so he'll clear waivers. It's a pretty gutsy move for the Reds. Jimenez was awful in 35 games this year, but he was pretty good in 225 games for the team prior to the season. He's still decent enough to start at second for some teams and there will be plenty of interest in him if he becomes a free agent. The Reds will go with Ryan Freel at second base for now and they could rotate Felipe Lopez between the middle-infield spots after Rich Aurilia returns. Not only is this good news for Freel, but it also helps Austin Kearns, as Freel should no longer get any outfield at-bats Devil Rays designated outfielder Chris Singleton for assignment. It's the right move, but it should have been made when Joey Gathright or Jonny Gomes was the alternative. In Tampa Bay's view, it was Damon Hollins that made Singleton expendable. Singleton hit .271/.348/.356 in 59 AB. He'd be a better fifth outfielder than Quinton McCracken in Arizona or Keith Reed in Baltimore, but he'll probably clear waivers.

We got swept in Wrigley last year and you guys are still alive... Relax and hope for the best. We are in first place, and have the Best Record in Baseball.

While I don't believe this deal will ever happen.... Anyone who would say no to acquiring Eric Chavez is Absolutely NUTS. Stop the arguements about not trading minor leaguers. If you can get a Proven Young Stud like Chavez, you do it. I wouldn't care if it costs us Crede (one of my favorite players) BMac and another player. I'd give them whatever they want for him. Chavez is the best defensive third baseman in the AL, and he is a heart of the order left handed hitter. We haven't had someone like that since Robin Ventura. I'll cross my fingers on this one... but I won't get my hopes up.
-
At this point I would take any of those guys if it meant that we would see less of Neal Cotts.
-
I would love to see him play for the Illini, but I just know he is gonna choose Duke. Fingers Crossed for Illinois.

This topic leads me to ask... What is everyone else into right now... other thanthe Sox. My favorites are: Lost CSI: Vegas The Shield The Office Scrubs Family Guy

1. Frank Thomas 2. Freddy Garcia 3. Robin Ventura 4. Joe Crede 5. Harold Baines 6. Mark Buehrle 7. Bo Jackson 8. Keith Foulke 9. Carlos Lee 10. Paul Konerko One guy I am very fond of right now is AJ Pierzynski... Its like the Dennis Rodman factor all over again.
