  1. Lot of White Sox bashing by the Tigers announcers waiting for Maggs to get to the podium.
  2. The more I think of it... This is a horrible rumor... The O's would never ever do that deal.
  3. I haven't heard that... but I like BJ Ryan. I would be okay with that deal because it opens up spots for other people and adds another great arm to the pen.
  4. So are the Tigers basically bidding against themselves on this one? It sure seems like another Arod/Texas Situation.
  5. Did anyone hear how the workout for the Tigers went this week? I would say that they must feel he looks good... or they are just feeling the need to add a player to their team.

Funny this should come up... I actually met up with Greg Walker last night. First let me say Walker may be the nicest pro I have ever met. He was very friendly, and actually kept our conversation going rather than making me feel like I was annoying him. The main thing we talked about was Joe Crede. Crede is one of my favorites so I was interested to hear how he was doing. Walk said Crede is coming along nicely. He said Joe's biggest problem is that he is stubborn. All his life he has been a dominating hitter, until he got to the bigs. He said Joe's natural ability was able to overcome his flaw in his swing all the way through the minors, but now it is something that has to be fixed. Walk was very complementary of Crede and his efforts. I know it's not saying much, but he assured me Joe would be a much better hitter than he was last season. Come on Crede. Proove all your doubters wrong.
  7. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Where is the other Button? I understand... thats why it says if it has to be one or the other.
  8. If you had to choose the destination of Ordonez, which would you rather see happen. Obviously I would rather see someone like the Mets come charging in, but if it has to be one of these two... which one is it?
  9. ROBERT DENIRO> ANALYZE THAT BILLY CRYSTAL> MONSTERS INC. STEVE BUSCEMI> MR. DEEDS ADAM SANDLER> 50 FIRST DATES DREW BARRYMORE> CHARLIE'S ANGELS CAMERON DIAZ> ANY GIVEN SUNDAY AL PACINO My Turn to challenge someone: Denzel Washington and Ashley Judd.
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 28, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) I like how Richie got hurt once and now he's injury prone. As long as something happens once makes you prone, then Paulie is .230 prone. I could be wrong, but didn't Sexson hurt his shoulder... come back, then hurt the shoulder again? I too would say Sexson is a player that may be injury prone.
  11. Has anyone bothered to look at the box scores of this seven game series. I have looked at all 7 games up and down and I don't see Iguchi's name in any of the games. Can anyone even confirm that he played against the MLB "All Stars" led by the mighty Ray King? http://www.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp
  12. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) i'm not signing up....too lazy. But that's the insight of BorASS for you. pretty soon he'll own the world with the money he gets from player contracts. :headshake I thought I found it where you could read the article without signing up.
  13. After reading this article I am shocked. I can't believe how this thing is shaping up. Good Luck to Maggs... and anyone that thinks they are gonna get a fair deal from Boras. ALARMING QUOTE FROM ARTICLE: • The power hitting outfielder is not willing to accept a one-year contract and a reduced salary well below the $14 million he made with the Chicago White Sox in 2004. ENTIRE ARTICLE http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/baseball/10737397.htm?1c
  14. I would love to have Urbina on the Sox, but I am not convinced the Tigers would trade with the Sox. Do they have any type of history trading with one another. Does anyone in the AL Central have a history of dealing with one another. Maybe the whole idea of "no trading within the division" is overrated, but it doesn't happen very often. Who are some other options? One guy I would love is Danys Baez.
  15. I know that Ozzie and Urbina are tight, and I am sure Urbina would love to play for him. I also know that Bruce Levine is speculating that the Sox are looking to deal Harris to add to their bullpen. Levine seems to believe the Sox want to trade Harris for bullpen help, then turn around and sign a Utility IF. If this happens, it just means one less man is making the bullpen whether it is 6 or 7 guys out there.
  16. How about Matt Smith?
  17. Add me to the list of not wanting Willie Harris out of here. I like his effort, and would liked to have seen him get more of a chance. I see hope for Willie, but unfortunately I don't think we will see much more of him on the South Side. Though the writing is on the wall for Harris to pack his bags, I want to make it known that I think he got a raw deal here. Only 26 years old, and showing signs of life (unlike Joe Borchard), Willie Harris you will be missed.
  18. Maybe... Like Mr. Zero, He already has a nickname.
  19. Is he on the 40 man roster? Will we have to send him through waivers to get him to AAA?
  20. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) I guess I don't recall the name, but none the less, it is sad. Do a image search for him on Google. Trust me... No one forgets El Guapo.
  21. I found this on the Reds forum as I was browsing around different team sites. http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31294 very sad if true.
  22. I am gonna go with BS on this one as well. I don't see the Twins losing Hunter right now. Sure the Astros could be out there looking for a CF, but I think a more likely acquisition would be someone like Bubba Crosby, Joey Gathright, Alex Sanchez, etc.
  23. Hawk is a good man for going into this. B and B are ruthless in their jabs at Hawk.
  24. Found this interesting tidbit about Ozuna when looking him up. December 14, 1998: Traded by the St. Louis Cardinals with Armando Almanza and Braden Looper to the Florida Marlins for Edgar Renteria.
  25. QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Anyone know what happened with Urbina's mother? Were they able to rescue her from those kidnappers? It hasn't been mentioned in awhile. I read this article Tuesday that said nothing new had come about in the case for Urbina's mother. My heart goes out to that family. Here is the article: http://www.detnews.com/2005/tigers/0501/18/d01-62744.htm
