January 25, 200521 yr QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Now that we got Iguchi who does the Sox knock off the 40 man roster This is such a good question, I felt it deserved it's own thread. Rogowski? Reynoso? Davis? Who can they get through waivers?
January 25, 200521 yr There are a few guys from the 40-man roster that could be designated for assignment to make room for Iguchi... Pedro Lopez Paulino Reynoso Matt Smith Sean Tracey I doubt anyone would claim these guys.
January 25, 200521 yr QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) This is such a good question, I felt it deserved it's own thread. Rogowski? Reynoso? Davis? Who can they get through waivers? Reynoso is useless in my opinion.

January 25, 200521 yr QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Leave Timo alone, he's here and you love him You have to admit, .262/.343/.323, cheap w/ good defense at 2B looks better than .246/.285/.338, $1M w/ poor range and a plus arm in the outfield. One is almost universally loathed, and looks to be done with this team, the other is a beloved mascot of ineptitude.
January 25, 200521 yr Green?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lopez is the only guy I would worry about designating for assignment.

Pedro Lopez Paulino Reynoso Matt Smith Sean Tracey I doubt anyone would claim these guys. You're kidding, right? Sean Tracey is (considered by some around here) our second best pitching prospect behind B-Mac. Reynoso is a good call, but isn't Lopez an alright IF prospect?
January 25, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Lopez is the only guy I would worry about designating for assignment. Tracey is one heck of a prospect, Lopez is a decent mi spect, you're right on Reynoso though.

Reynoso is a good call, but isn't Lopez an alright IF prospect? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I doubt any teams out there would claim him and have to add him to their roster. He has only had one really good year so far.

Cheat, I'm not getting into the Timo argument again but whether you like it or not he's here to stay.

Reynoso is a good call, but isn't Lopez an alright IF prospect? Lopez will get picked up by someone and tracey most definitely will. So they are not options.
January 25, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) I doubt any teams out there would claim him and have to add him to their roster. He has only had one really good year so far. Some team would claim him, easy. Tracey has some nasty stuff, just a little wild... GM's love 'stuff', they see Tracey, he'd be gone.
January 25, 200521 yr They will not dump Tracey, Lopez (one of my fav. spects) and Smith is very solid.
January 25, 200521 yr This actually is a good question, and I think it may be WH. Last time this Q was asked with AJ's signing, I absolutely thought it was Reynoso. But after reading some things here and something from a Q&A with Merkin on MLB.com(I think) -- It sounds like 1) the Sox are really high on him and 2) they feel that he would be picked up by somebody.
January 25, 200521 yr Author You could also open up a spot by trading some one from the 40 for a prospect.

Pedro Lopez Paulino Reynoso Matt Smith Sean Tracey I doubt anyone would claim these guys. I think the fact that you included Lopez or Tracey in this proves that you are a jabroni.
January 25, 200521 yr Neither the White Sox camp nor Richard Moss, Iguchi's agent, could comment on the signing. The news will not become official until later in the week, pending Iguchi passing a physical. KW will have a little time to either make a deal or make the decision. I'm thinking a Harris trade may be in the works.
