  1. Toby Hall of the DRays has been tendered. I would say they could do that and still trade him, but I would think that takes them out of the AJ Derby.
  2. I am not sure I am for it either, but other than AJ, what other option would we have? Trade for overpaid Charles Johnson? Toby Hall? I got it! Bring Back Brooke Fordyce!
  3. Seems to me, we have about an hour left to determine what the Sox next move is gonna be. Ben Davis is the only player on the Sox with the future still up in the air. If the Sox don't tender him a contract, I think that shouts out that we are going after AJ. I fully expect that there is some sort of deal that will be worked out between KW and Big Ben, but we will know for sure in just a bit.
  4. Attached is an article from December 10 regarding the health of Miller. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2940941
  5. He was probably only gonna make about 4-5 million in arbitration. My guess is that the Astros are trying to save every penny they have to throw at Beltran. I would love to add Miller. I'd take Miller over Clement, Perez, and Lowe.
  6. ONLY Miller was non-tendered.
  7. Sportscenter Update during the Bulls Pre-Game show. I was on my way home from work, so it was probably about 45 minutes ago.
  8. With only a few hours left to offer players contracts... I have yet to hear anything on Alex Cora or Jerry Hairston. I really hope one of these two guys is our starting 2B.
  9. That rumor is false. The guy on WSI that started it is a jag. ESPN Radio 1000 said AJ was supposed to decide tonight what he was going to do. They also said a source in the White Sox front office said if he announces tonight, it wouldn't be good news for the Sox. Not quite sure whats going on here.
  10. I have heard Pittsburgh and L.A. are both interested in AJ.
  11. Other Tidbits: Rosenthal's predictions of where players will end up: Sosa: Baltimore Delgado: Dodgers (after trading Javy Vasquez) Beltran: Yankees Lowe: Tigers Drew: Mets His best value FA: Maggs Ordonez
  12. RECAP: - Says the RJ deal is not complete like everyone says. It is close, but not there yet. - There is a 4th team involved that will be getting Vasquez from the Dodgers (everyone assumes it is the White Sox) but he isn't sure yet. - Says the deal doesn't make sense for the Dodgers to give all of this up just to get Javy. Says they will definitely be trading him to free up some money to go out and chase after JD Drew, Magglio, or possibly even Beltran. - From talks by Rosenthal, it sounds like the Dodgers would be dealing Vazquez to save money. (Konerko makes 8-9? Garland makes 3? I don't see how that is really saving money) **He was on ESPN 1000, sorry about the topic saying the SCORE. Edited title
  13. I totally agree with that. I have seen him play four times, and not once did he jump out at me. I know I know, four games is sort of a rush to judgement, but I have heard all of the speculation that the hype machine has taken over for this prospect. Add him to the list of: Hensley Muelens, Kevin Maas, Brien Taylor, and Drew Henson
  14. Cowley says scouts have expressed concerns about CLee putting on weight, and getting bigger every year. Said teams are convinced CLee will be playing the latter part of his career at first (or DH).
  15. Cowley says the Sox do have an offer on the table for Clement. Clement is supposed to decide tomorrow between about four offers (the Sox being one of them).
  16. Cowley is on right now. He says Lee was serious when he said he hated everyone. He said he even asked him, are you kidding around, and CLee said no I am not, I don't really care for anyone in here. Cowley said CLee wasn't a jokester like he would come across on the TV cameras. CLee was my favorite Sox player, and it hurts to hear negative stuff about him, but Cowley doesn't just make stuff up.
  17. I prefer the Podsednik Adventure.
  18. so this interview is actually before the trade then right?
  19. If he is on Jim Rome its taped.
  20. No Kidding... But I am saying judging by his play from last year, he deserves more of a shot this year. As of right now he is probably behind Crazy Carl on the bench. Now ESPN news is saying we are going after more power? I gotta believe more of our hitting could still be on the move.
  21. My brother says KW wanted to make the deal bigger, and that he was the one pushing this trade. The Brewers felt they had nothing to lose so they went for it. I guess they felt Podsednik was useless to them if they had no strength in the middle of their lineup. I am still waiting to hear on the player to be named later.
  22. NO Respect for a guy who played his ass off when called upon. I think Gload showed enough to warrant more playing time.
  23. Power? We just gave it all away. Maybe he meant power pitching. :rolly
  24. We need to get something done now with a Clement or O. Perez. A lot of teams right now have their focus on Hudson. You can be assured the loser in the Hudson sweepstakes will come after these guys as the next best option.
  25. The only thing on ESPN Insider is the rumored 3 way w/ the Sox losing PK and Garland, and getting Javy Vasquez.
