  1. While Mike Brown is one of my favorite players on the Bears, and I agree that he will be missed... everyone needs to take a moment to count to ten. Bobby Grey will be a fine replacement for Brown. I consider the Safety position one of the easiest (if not the easiest position) to fill in at in the NFL. Bobby Grey has shown he has a nose for the ball, and he can hit with the best of them. The one area Grey will have to turn it up is against the run. Get well soon Mike Brown... Chicago Bears ... Bear Down!
  2. I was simply impressed with him taking some pitches, and he even drew a walk. Don't forget getting hit with the bases loaded too. If Borchard can relax and have fun, he is only gonna get better.
  3. I was impressed with the effort of Joe Borchard tonight. Cross your fingers... Imagine the White Sox with a good Joe Borchard.
  4. Pardon me for asking... But what players quit on this team? I feel we simply aren't good enough.
  5. Saints Redskins Broncos Ravens Rams Texans Packers Colts Chiefs Seahawks Cowboys Bills Patriots Jets Bengals Eagles
  6. The JD Drew trade brought STL: Marquis, Marrero, and Waingwright. It could have brought King too, I am not sure.
  7. How many First Basemen that bash the ball are available via Free Agency or the Trade Market next year? I think there are a ton of teams that need/want a power hitting first baseman as well.
  8. I think teams would love to only take on Konerko and his one year deal. It gives a team a chance to go for it with a stud player without having to take break the bank for years to come. I think some very similar situations to look at are last years trades of Derek Lee and Richie Sexson.
  9. In a very similar situation, look what the Brew Crew got for Sexson. Sure Sexson is younger and better than Konerko, but he brought in: Overbay, Spivey, Capuano, and Counsell. I'd be happy to get two players of that caliber, let alone four.
  10. If you don't think Konerko can bring a good player(s) to the Sox in a trade then you are crazy. Konerko almost brought an MLB proven starter in Odalis Perez after his worst season ever. Now teams have a shot to bring in a big time power hitter to play first base for 8 million dollars. That not much cash to pay a guy for a year if a team is going to try and go for it. I for one hope that the Sox don't deal PK, but I can tell you there will be a ton of teams that will want to talk to KW at the winter meetings about him.
  11. I like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as a big time possibility for Konerko. Pinella desperately wants a Right Handed Power Hitter for his LineUp. Adding Konerko to that team could mean a huge boost in runs. Whiel I like everyone else would love to have Carl Crawford. I see a Konerko for Baldelli deal as a good fit. Tampa Bay have a ton of Young OFs, but none have power. *The only hangup here is that Pinella is probably on his way to the Mets. If and when he does that, it will be interesting to see what happens to the Devil Rays and their makeup.
  12. Has anyone heard Hawk state why Willie Harris is now nicknamed Pea Pod?
  13. Tampa Bay and Uncle Lou are in search of a power hitter. Pinella wants a Right Handed Power Hitter to go with Huff. Also I have read several places that Baldelli was being shopped because of the youth Tampa Bay has in the OF (Crawford, Baldelli, Gathwright, D. Young, etc... and Upton could end up out there too). I think a strong possibility could be a Konerko for Baldelli deal. While I too would love to have Crawford... I think our chances of getting Baldelli are better. As far as the Garland for Soriano talks go, I'd love to have Soriano on our team, but I think it would cost us Garland, Harris and a player like Spidale.
  14. They Screwed Up His Jersey. MAN HANDS! I will be buying me one of those jerseys very soon.
  15. BMAC. Congrats on a great season. Don't stop now. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see you in Chicago someday. Best of luck in the Playoffs and the AFL.
  16. I thought Willie Harris is a FA as well. AM I wrong?
  17. With all the talk of Free Agency, I was trying to think of all the current Sox who are approaching Free Agency. Maggs Ordonez Jose Valentin Willie Harris Ben Davis Cliff Politte Mike Jackson who am I missing?
  18. After looking at this article, I Guarantee Pavano doesn't come here. He wants a pitcher friendly park and a good defensive team. That is not our identity. I still say he stays in Florida. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...-sports-marlins
  19. I think we can forget about getting Pavano. I have heard he wants to stay in Florida, and Florida wants him to stay. The Marlins traded Brad Penny, with the idea that Pavano will be resigned. While I'd love to have him on the Sox, I am sure he will be staying in Florida.
  20. Hampton and Walker are the two players I was talking about. If I was referring to CJ or Neagle that would be more than 2 players not on the Rox accounting for a lot of that money. Sorry for the confusion qwerty... I'll try to be more clear next time.
  21. I found this blurb today in looking at different papers online. This is pathetic. The Rockies have committed $53.6 million to six players next season - Todd Helton ($12.6 million), Preston Wilson ($12 million), Denny Neagle ($10 million), Charles Johnson ($9 million), Walker ($7.5 million) and Mike Hampton ($2.5 million). While no decision has been reached on next year's payroll, it's expected to be about $65 million. 53 of the 65 Million Dollar payroll is already committed for next year. Some of that to 2 players that aren't even on the team. 10 Mil. for Neagle? 9Mil. for CJ? I have never really looked in depth at other teams payroll situations, but seeing the position the Rockies are in amazes me.
