My "philosophy" is simply about trying to go after the Title now. I am tired of not having enough to get over the top. Almost as tired as waiting for all of our top prospects to pan out. And I disagree with you on what Garcia will cost. Garcia is on top of his game this year, and if he had any run support he would be the leading canidate for the AL Cy Young. Call it overpaying if you want, but teams that want to win this year will give up what it takes to get him. IF we did trade Reed for Garcia (I am assuming you would be upset). If Garcia helped lead us to say the ALCS would you consider it worth it?

I honestly can't get over all of this LOVE for Jeremy Reed. Enough already. The guy hasn't played a single game in the majors and people are ready to retire his number. He hasn't done anything to warrant all of this. Who cares if he was the Minor League Player of the Year (so was Jon Rauch). I am tired of hanging on to prospect to plan for the future. I want to win now. Any of the proven starters (Garcia, Sheets, Livan) will help us a ton. We need to go for it. Ask yourself, If you could have one of the following, which would you rather have. 1. Jeremy Reed in a White Sox uniform. 2. Chicago White Sox: 2004 American League Champions. I want to win now. I am not convinced adding one starter will make us win it all, but I am convinced it is a necessary move that needs to be made. If we can make a big trade without trading Reed, I am all for it, but if it is Reed that it is gonna take... Trade Him.

I say do this deal. Either one of these guys will help us tremendously this year. Everyone is so high on Reed... and while I hope very much he is a successful major leaguer, its all potential right now. I just don't see the White Sox as one of the 4 teams that can meet those needs. Olivo and Crede should be fixtures on our team for the next 5 seasons IMO.

You guys should be happy we now have Southpaw. Look on the bright side... I bet we never have to worry about him turning down a big contract and leaving via Free Agency.

I have read Moneyball. I really enjoyed it. Especially the part on the A's trading a young catching prospect named Miguel Olivo to the Chicago White Sox. Another good read is "Getting Into the Game" by Josh Leuwen.

I bet that is gonna be a long flight home. Lets hope Ozzie does make the change, and things start fresh on Tuesday. And we still go to bed in first place (only by a game), but we are still on top.

I always love looking at Baseball America and their ideas for what the lineup will look like down the road. Now I am aiming this one at all of you guys who love to follow the Sox minor league system. So lets see it guys. The White Sox 2007 lineup will look like what?

The last issue I saw out was the focus on the minor leagues... and all that goes into making a game happen (with the Durham Bulls on the cover). Is there a more current one now?

Is the current issue of BA a draft preview, or are there any othe decen publications out there?

Is Maggs out for tonights game confirmed?

If Team A offers 70 Million for 5 years (to be paid 1 million a year for the next 70 years) and Team B offers 70 million for 5 years (to be paid over the next 8 years) Are they the same offer?

I will step to the front and say I would re-sign Maggs. I would overpay if I had to, just to make a good PR Move for the team. If Maggs keeps saying no, there is nothing we can do about it, but don't stop trying. I understand the market is dropping, and his skills may drop some day in the future too, but to re-sign our best player, who is very marketable, and stays out of trouble is a must. On the other hand, I will say that all of those people who say sign Maggs or I am gone is BS. As a youngster I cried the day Ventura left, and thought I'd never get over it... heck I still haven't got over it, but I am still a fan. Magglio is a great player and seems like a good guy too, but the turn over in baseball is what it is. I want Maggs re-signed, but if it doesn't happen.... 0000EEEE00000-----OLIVO!

I wouldn't mind trying to add Glavine or Leiter to the Sox, but the Mets aren't looking to sell right now. They consider themselves buyers for the time being.

My vote is definitely for Livan Hernandez. I see him as fitting in best on our squad.

Kelly COULD NOT get the job done... Plain and Simple. I believe he mad 3 apperances. I remember him not getting the job done in two of them. 1. Brought in to face Twins lefty Justin Morneau. WALK 2. Brought in to face Rangers lefty Hank Blalock. BASE HIT If you are gonna be a lefty specialist, you have to be on the money nearly every time out. I understand he didn't get much of an oppurtunity, but Kelly had to prove he deserved a spot on this team... and he didn't do it.

Yes Steff, I am going tonight. I traded my seats for last night and tonights game, for four in the row right behind the Sox dugout. I am contemplating making a SOXTALK sign for all our buddies who will be watching the game on TV... just wondering if its worth it.
