  1. Thats cool, stop by and say hello if you get a chance. I'll be in row 8 on the end. Big guy with a Sox cap on. Hopefully the boys get back on the right track.
  2. I may have 2 extra seats (good seats) if anyone wants to come join me in my spot. Let me know if interested. I won't be back to check the board until after noon. Thanks, JD
  3. The A's need some offensive help. Other than Chavez and Dye they really have no huge threats. Come on A's!
  4. A's Suck. Karros sucks. McMillon sucks.
  5. NEWS FLASH: Twins Closer Joe Nathan can't throw a Strike (just like our guy Billy) TIE GAME!!
  6. 1 run game... Bottom of 8. 2 on 1 out for the A's.
  7. I just can't get over how bad bullpens are this year. I am watching this game and Rincon and Hammond are Garbage. Come on A's get it going.
  8. 8 3/4 Hat Size? YOU HAVE A HUGE HEAD. Thats gotta be close to a Soxtalk Poster Record.
  9. Is Morse ready for AAA?
  10. I wish the White Sox would hold the same standards in a way for the Jose situation. Sure Jose still has a spot on this team, and bringing him back up is different than Wunsch, but Jose shouldn't just be handed his job back. It isn't broke, so don't mess with it. Lets face it, Uribe and Willie are our middle infielders next year, so keep them together until one stops rolling.
  11. If you have ever read the book Money Ball, that focuses on the way Billy Beane runs the A's, there is a whole chapter about the Bradford and Olivo trade. The whole chapter is basically about how the Sox got taken in the deal, and how Beane knew Bradford was a stud. It makes me laugh. I don't think Olivo gets the respect he deserves because he doesn't have a Great offensive game yet, but everyone around him seems to think he will be fine.
  12. From the Sun Times: Without reason to rush things, Jose Valentin likely will be left at Class AAA Charlotte for at least one extra day. Valentin is eligible to come off the disabled list today, but with the Baltimore Orioles starting left-hander Eric DuBose and Juan Uribe off to a hot start, a roster move isn't expected right away. "We don't know yet,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said. "We might give him a couple more days. I'd rather he got more at-bats down there. I don't think he's swinging the bat the way he wants to swing the bat.'' Valentin, recovering from a strained left hamstring, is 1-for-19 with 11 strikeouts, including an 0-for-4 night Monday with three strikeouts and an error. The start was similar to his start with the Sox last month when he struck out six times in his first two games batting against left-handers. Valentin is batting .271 with three home runs and eight RBI with the Sox. Uribe, though, has done much better with the big club. He is batting .377, third in the American League. Expected to be a utility player for the Sox when he was acquired in an offseason trade from the Colorado Rockies, Uribe has a nine-game hitting streak and is batting .402 (29-for-72) with four doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI in his last 19 games. When Valentin eventually returns this week, the Sox are expected to send either Kelly Dransfeldt or Jamie Burke back to Charlotte. But since he is out of options, Dransfeldt would have to clear waivers before going back to Class AAA. FIVE HOLE: With the Sox not needing a fifth starter until May 15 against the Minnesota Twins, speculation already has started as to who might get the job. Dan Wright, who was sent to Charlotte this weekend, might be recalled if he shows improvement, but others are in the mix. While Neal Cotts would seem to be an option with his 1.69 ERA in nine appearances, Guillen said the left-hander would remain a reliever for now. That leaves Charlotte right-handers Felix Diaz and Jason Grilli as options, as well as Class AA Birmingham left-hander Arnie Munoz. Diaz is 4-0 with a 2.01 ERA after five starts, while Grilli is 1-3 with a 4.45 ERA in five starts. Munoz is 4-0 with a 1.52 ERA in five starts (292/3 innings). Diaz, who has just three walks and 29 strikeouts in 31-1/3 innings, would appear to have the edge. NO WORRIES: Cotts, who started all 65 games he appeared in as a member of the Sox organization before this season, won't campaign to get a start. "I don't think I need to change any minds,'' he said. "I think I've done a decent job down in the bullpen for them. If they like me better down there, that's fine with me.'' NOTE: After playing in both games of Saturday's doubleheader and in Sunday's game as well, Paul Konerko was given the day off Monday, with Ross Gload starting at first base. Gload went 0-for-4 and is batting .207. I am not sure I want to risk losing Kelly D. I like the Tony G. type of role he can play.
  13. Despite being just one game out of first place in the AL West, all is not perfect with the Anaheim Angels. Team officials are worried about ace Bartolo Colon, whose fastball, which normally hits 97 and 98 mph consistently, hovered around 92 in a loss to Detroit on Wednesday night. That same day, all-star left fielder Garret Anderson went on the disabled list for the first time in his career. (I got this off of BenMaller.com)
  14. I am going to agree with the Ghost. I am certain Beltran will end up in Los Angeles. They have great prospects to deal, and will be in the NL West Race in the end.
  15. Where are all of the Aaron Miles fans now?
  16. For those of you not in the Chicago area that do not get WCIU, words can't explain how horrible this station is. The video feed from this station sucks. It is like they are putting a tinted window over my television screen. I know, I know... it is better than nothing, but even as a person who gets WCIU, I too dread when the games are on there.
  17. I am really anxious to see if ticket prices drop.
  18. Joe Crede is looking comfortable. Last week against the Yanks, He looked awful, lost, and like a rookie... but like everyone else here I knew better things were to come. I am not ready to declare Joe an All-Star yet, but these past three games are helping me to think Joe may be out of the woods.
  19. Just got back from the game... All I can say is wow. What a game for Uribe. Crede looks more comfortable at the plate now too. The wind was nuts today. I couldn't believe how much pop ups were dancing in the air. Hats off to Jackson and Shingo as well.
  20. When is the last time we had a convincing win? Loaiza's start in Tampa Bay?
  21. Atleast we aren't the DRays. YIKES.
  22. Things in this game got me more frustrated than ever.... -1st Inning, Runner on 3rd, 1 out, couldn't score. -Maggs Ordonez doing absolutely nothing. -the DRays Gold Glove OFs -Wille getting thrown out trying to strecth it into a double (with no outs). -Julio "Tough Guy" Lugo. -Carlos getting picked off. But we still won. Woo Hoo.
  23. Do you guys care if I on behalf of the Sox offer our entire minor league system to the DRays for Carl Crawford?
  24. To the new PR/Marketing Director. I love Bobble Head Give Aways. Bring On Carlos, Buehrle, Crede, Ozzie, etc.
