I would rather resign Maggs. Garcia needs to prove he wasn't a flash in the pan. Winn isn't that special, and Soriano is a great prospect ... but I would rather have Edwin Jackson from the Dodgers.

If LA signs Maddux will Evans rekindle...
JDsDirtySox replied to RudyLawRules's topic in Pale Hose Talk
ESPN is now stating after a month of silence, the talks between the Dodgers and Sox are heating up to a serious state again. The five o'clock sportscenter update said the talk is a Thomas for Odalis Perez swap. Man I love Frank Thomas, but it makes you wonder what our club would look like, play like, and act like without the Big Hurt. -
PITCHERS Esteban Loaiza Mark Buehrle Jon Garland Scott Schoeneweis Danny Wright Robert Person Cliff Politte Shingo Takatsu Kelly Wunsch Damaso Marte Billy Koch LINEUP Rowand (CF) Lee (LF) Ordonez (RF) Thomas (DH) Konerko (1B) Valentin (SS) Crede (3B) Harris (2B) Olivo © BENCH Juan Uribe (IF) Sandy Alomar © Marvin Bernard (OF) Ross Gload (IF/OF) Bobby Smith (IF)* *I am still anxious to see how things pan out in ST in regards to the utility role. I wonder if Gload or Uribe will be able to spell Crede at third. If not, I am anxious to see Bobby Smith... he was decent a few years back in Tampa Bay.

where is Billy Dicken now?

My Favorite White Sox Player of All Time is Frank Thomas. From day one I have really enjoyed watching him play. I even named my dog Frank after him. I have a few other big time favorites like Ventura, Foulke, Buehrle, Maggs, and CLee, but my favorite is and always has been the Big Hurt.

With having a lot of people on this board, both young and old, I'd really like to know what year was your favorite team and why. I'd love to hear everyones thoughts. My favorite Sox team was the 2000 Chicago White Sox. It was my second year being a season ticket holder, and I went to a ton of the games. I really loved that team. I also met my wife during that season so we had many dates to Comiskey. That year was so much fun, and that team was so fun. I'll never forget the 12 game road win streak, or how much fun that April was (it seemed like we scored 10 runs a game). I'll also never forget being sad when we traded Brooke Fordyce for Charles Johnson and Baines. Man I loved that team. For me, it will be very hard to ever replace the Summer of2000. What about you?

No more ball for me. Graduated four years ago.

Small University about an hour south of Chicago. Olivet Nazarene University.

I played football, basketball, and baseball all through high school injury free. I went on to play baseball in college, and in the winter of my junior year I broke my leg playing a pick up game of basketball. No injuries in football or a ton of baseball, yet I break my leg playing freakin basketball. It was painful.

cnnsi.com reporting torn ACL for A. Boone
JDsDirtySox replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This situation will reveal to everyone how little of faith they have in Drew Henson. -
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/base....acl/index.html Now the only question is who is George gonna go buy to play third base.

I will say that I am glad Mariotti is on 1000 now. I couldn't stand Kornheiser talking about Washington Sports all of the time... and if he wasn't talking about that, he was talking about movie reviews. I am excited to listen to Mariotti on the radio. I don't care to hear interviews with Random Panthers and Patriots at the Super Bowl, and I don't care to hear an interview with the Richmond Basketball coach after upseting Kansas. I just want Chicago Sports Radio. I enjoy Mariotti's columns, and I think having him on the air will pour fuel on to the fire of Chicago sports. Just my two cents.

I'll take the St. Louis Rams if available. If not just give me any team besides the Lions.
-
The best stuff I got out of that interview was the Wally Backman stuff. Come on KW, let the truth out man.
-
PART FIVE Wow, KW says Wally Backman better be careful or he will let the real story out. Also says Frank hasn't returned his phone calls.
-
This is what I heard: PART THREE Twins Talk, KW agrees with the comments made by Mientkiewicz. Says Ozzie can bring this clubhouse together. Commenting on Wally, KW basically takes the high road.
-
This is what I heard: PART TWO Ozzie is passionate, but his knowledge of the game is underrated. The one thing we have to keep in mind with Willie is that he needs to be given a chance. Just like CLee and Maggs, Willie just needs a chance. Blah Blah Blah
-
This is what I heard: PART ONE KW says Takatsu is a mixture of Scott Sullivan and Keith Foulke. Says he throws 88-89 but seems like 93 with a killer change up. Don't expect anything major to happen on the trade front. KW s excited to see Willie and Aaron get into the everyday lineup. KW says if the team is in the race mid way through the season, the team will spend to pick up anything it may need. KW says another Starter may be added to the non-roster invitees. KW is most interested to see Schoeny in the Rotation. Says he has been trying to get him for 3 years now. (he must be a grinder)

Here's a trade rumor that makes perfect sense!!
JDsDirtySox replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Is this a trade rumor... or an idea you have come up with? -
Kaz Sasaki was 32 when he came to the Majors and won the Rookie of the Year in 2000. Honestly I know nothing about Mr. Zero, but the contract he got makes me wonder how much of an impact he can really make.
-
Why didn't zero get the big contracts like Ichiro, Sasaki, Ishii, and Matsui? Just curious.
-
1. Jeremy Reed 2. Kris Honel 3. Joe Borchard 4. Neal Cotts 5. Felix Diaz 6. Ryan Wing 7. Jon Rauch 8. Brian Anderson 9. Robert Valido 10. Ryan Sweeney
-
With the addition of Mr. Zero, our pen is gonna look drastically different. And another thing... how many side armers is too many?
-
Watching Rice in the CWS last year was awesome. Talk about dominating Pitching. wow

"Feel Good" Story about Neal Cotts
JDsDirtySox replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Good Article. I am really rooting for Cotts to bounce back and pitch like we know he can.
