  1. I didn’t even realize Josh was on this team until we saw him out in right field. It’s like, bro, just try fletcher or Julks. Phone autocorrected julks to Julia, that might be a nickname.
  2. I’m gonna try to go. I didn’t realize he was pitching tomorrow. The weather should be excellent. Kicking myself for not going today.
  3. Boston is struggling, they couldn’t use any of the pitchers we developed for them.
  4. It’s true, I’m hyped that Lee, a fine player, is expendable. I just think it’s funny and backwards. Any one of our catchers, including the old guys, is a better hitter than our 1b/dh’s.
  5. Why are all the best hitters on the team/in the system catchers???
  6. That isn't an applicable analogy because this doesn't really have anything to do with the White Sox. Any player could say this about any team and it would still look petty. It's very easy to just say nothing (again, like Giolito, a good guy and a clear leader. let me know when he says something, I might change my perspective. I think Gio has even better reason than the rest to talk trash, frankly). A normal person in Crochet's situation would either say nothing or simply be grateful that he was put in a position and given the tools to go out and "earn" 170 million dollars. Alongside his weird, unprecedented "demand" last season, it makes me think Crochet is kind of a dick. I guess a rich dick now. I still wish him the best and I hope he continues along a HOF trajectory, he's an incredible pitcher. I wish Lance the best too, I just think he's pwning himself and not the Sox and that he looks silly and if he was less of a dick some team would probably still be paying him to pitch. I think he torched his "veteran leader" reputation when he talked all that trash on his way out the door and probably a couple million dollars alongside. Regarding what players think about the Sox generally, why I think Sox players specifically are making this noise -- you think these players don't see the same stuff we do and are influenced by it? how could Crochet have perspective on how other teams operate relative to the White Sox? They're glued to their phones more than we are. How could he know how the Red Sox operate, he's been there for a month. For how historic a landmark it is, the facilities at Fenway are obviously not better than SoxPark and Henry is objectively a bigger piece of s%*# than Reinsdorf is. anyway, I think the thing to take away from this is that these are fundamentally criticisms directed toward Kenny and Hahn...and that Crochet is probably bitter that Getz didn't kowtow to his bizarre demand, even the getz haterz seemed to appreciate his hardball approach to that nonsense.
  7. it just seems petty and disrespectful. Fenway Sports Group is arguably as incompetent as JR (although Liverpool looks great), does Crochet know that? he's saying a nice thing about the team that just made him one of the richest men to ever exist, but I don't know why they always have to talk trash.
  8. he had a real nice game, but they're really stretching with this "first time ever" stuff
  9. these catchers are up too close these days if you ask me. Contreras had a terrible injury last year because he got smacked in the head with a bat. it's one thing when it's your glove.
  10. lenyn is great. these 10 run games weren't happening last year
  11. why do these catchers keep interfering with lu bob? know he's going deep?
  12. i go away for a minute and meidroth is on base again. 3 walks?? does this guy rock or does he just hate the red sox?
  13. was a single pitch on that Vaughn at bat over the plate? has he walked once this season?
  14. love that Robert is finally stealing bases. just start hitting the ball hard again. he may actually have more stolen bases than hits.
  15. exactly what we expected from him, a little single the other way
  16. amaya should play first base. I think vaughn is the odd man out.
  17. sunny, no wind. today felt very nice...relatively speaking. I wish it was warmer.
  18. "fluctuating rate field" is the bit the red sox commentator just did. genuinely funny.
  19. do they actually have leverage? we have the internet these days. if you really wanted to, you could watch Sox games for free in high definition. it's very easy and nobody seems to care about shutting down the streaming sites, they've been going strong for over a decade. in the next 20 years, the average person will be savvy enough to figure this out. I'm also waiting for advertising to stop working and the entire business model goes up in flames.
  20. He may be right, he just sounds like a spurned ex-girlfriend. Get over it, Lance. Some people have the mind to shut up about it when asked (Giolito). Don't hear Cease running his mouth either. It would be more meaningful if players who were still any good were talking.
  21. This guy is a buffoon. He acts like he wasn't part of the problem. Very funny when Stone made fun of his weight.
