Thank God for the Rockies

Recommended Posts

I watch a lot of Sox games (unlike some posters...) and have been enjoying some competitive games against good teams. If you don't watch the games and want to just post sarcastic comments about the team, go ahead, but your comments ring hollow. The team has been improving and we have some damn good players and pitchers.

I sorta want to like this post but at the same time we're still playing like 32% ball and we don't really have any "damn good players". We have a couple guys who might be pretty damn good eventually but for now the best we can really say is we might have some solid regulars.

Crochett was a damn good player. Smith is for now a solid 3rd starter. That's what I'm saying.

He is just trying to tell everyone that he is a better fan than most.  I, for one, am very impressed

No, trying to sieze some high moral ground and look down your nose as those who you deem as not good enough fans is what rings hollow.  Save your lectures.

This core is still power hungry.

20 games under .500 in May, if you’re enjoying it more power to you but this team is garbage.  At least there are some young bright spots this time around, I’ll give you that much.

In Sox world, a “Damn good player” is a major league player above replacement level.

All the spotlight on Colorado simply means there's LESS pressure on Getz and JR to provide a winning product...same thing holds true for Pittsburgh, Miami, etc.

Right. We’re not looking for cover out here. Let’s shine a light on Jerry’s boys. Curse the Rockies!

The team is clearly improving and he’s  brought more outside talent into front office in a 18 months than his predecessor did in a decade.

And the idea that he’s not trying is just silly.  From Rule 5 to the July trading period, he’s a pack-mule compared to his predecessor.

Things are looking up and the Sox are fun to watch.

It's important to remember he was also the GM last year...

While they are still losing a lot, the games have at least been more watchable this year. Having some of the young guys up and have actually had success has been nice. There is legitimate hope with some of the guys in the minors right now having real success, some might say are tearing it up. I'm looking forward to Teel getting the call, and hopeful that Colson keeps doing well and gets the call as well. Maybe we see them both in July. If you squint, you can actually see this team maybe having a .500 record next year if things keep progressing well, and then maybe a realistic shot at the division in 27, but of course that's the year the league might be locked out so that will throw it all off just like covid did with our last rebuild. We're cursed 😭

You admitted in a post about Thaiss that you did not even watch his games, but were willing to cast an opinion. You just keep posting reactive worthless trash here like a troll. Give it up.

Honestly, I really wanted Jerry taking the all-time loss record with him to the grave. The dirty old bastard is getting bailed out.

Sox are trying to turn things around a bit and meanwhile, neither our players or our fans will be  phased by Sox haters , Cub fans, or Reinsdorf haters.

Some are so blinded by their own hate that they are cheating themselves out of enjoying the games.

What's the difference between hate and "pragmatic realism" based on 45 years of JR ownership?

In theory, the first time JR will actually be expected to spend $50-100 million of new money in FA is during the 2027-28 off-season, yes?

So we still have 2 1/2 or 3 years left to go before we can make any determination about the success of the rebuild...which is great if you're Chris Getz or Venable.

Personally, I enjoy EXCITING players, if they're not capable of winning anything.  The closest we have to that now is 2023 Robert and Shane Smith when he's on and not walking the world or hitting every 5-10 batters.

Lmao.  Tray, be serious.  Nobody gets their panties in a bunch about anything around here more than you.  If we merely mention the numbers “78” then you get so upset you just wanna fight people

Oh boy thank god for you and reinsdorf.
