  1. The Sox have more hits than the Yankees yet the score is 10-1. WTF
  2. I was thinking that Palette is the next guy for a call up. Not exactly good in AAA, but worth a look maybe. Still hope for Burke and Cannon. Burke was fine this season, haven't watched these Charlotte games, but maybe he and Cannon are trying new things. Altavilla is finally back so I bet he's up soon. I'd just try out all of those guys and see what happens.
  3. Bonemer and Antonacci look really good at least. But good point. Both have been on the Sox radar for a while though, right? So can you credit Shirley with the selections?
  4. lol I was just thinking that the baseball gods saw that post I wrote and told me to go f*** myself. It can't get any better I don't think.
  5. Totally. Seen enough Elko.
  6. jesus Timmy. terrible AB.
  7. Maybe, I just can't see a team giving up a ton for a guy with a lot of question marks. Great in the minors, but only 46 innings. Injury concerns that turned him into a reliever. Not getting Leo de Vries back. His peripherals before tonight, 12.4 Ks to 3.3 walks and 0 home runs allowed suggests he's a lot better than his ERA. Pretty much what he did at AA and A+. I think he's a more valuable trade piece if he actually shows something over an extended period of time. I'd rather just keep him and see if he can eventually start.
  8. I don't remember that. I guess he drew "interest" but it was probably for garbage. I think he's a rookie who got rushed, the stuff is there, his control is OK.
  9. Should've made that play. Taylor's ERA balloons to 6.18. Could go higher. Think he needs to go down.
  10. Shades of Kopech. Stuff looks great, just kind of a "thrower". Oscillating between 96 and 100 MPH doesn't seem great either.
  11. I think it was a mistake to bring Grant up this early
  12. this ump is a moron. backwards K turns into a walk...
  13. It looked gone off the bat
  14. aw yeah. why did the Yankees trade for McMahon again?
  15. he couldn't hit a wicket. I forgot about about his brother. Guess they are both eligible to represent both PR and the Netherlands.
  16. How could you forget Sox legend Joshua Palacios? heritage anyway
  17. Sad. Feels like a lot of the runs against the past few games have come because of stupid plays that would've ended the threat if plays were made.
  18. catcher's interference? I just turned the game on
  19. why'd I turn on the tv
  20. Coulda been worse.
  21. I enjoyed this tweet from the guy. "We were expected to be good and completely fucking floundered...now everyone thinks we're bad and thus we're going to be good". I dunno if the brothers are the same way in this regard, I'd only note that the grass is not always greener. None of these buffoons should 'own' a baseball team.
  22. This is pretty good, I don't hate it, but Kansas City is not a southern city and Pittsburgh is not a New England/eastern seaboard one. They're both midwestern cities. Pittsburgh is closer, culturally and geographically, to Cleveland than it is Philadelphia. Those mountains make a difference. Denver is obviously the west. AL South seems cobbled together with "leftovers" in this example. The NL South looks pretty good to me if including the addition of Nashville. But there's something cultural at stake. Toronto could just as easily join a 'Great Lakes' division (plus Minneapolis can tag along because I guess they're called the 'Minnesota' Twins and Duluth is an important Great Lakes city, woulda been more important than Chicago before the railroads). That could be a fun way to do divisions. Maybe we don't even need divisions anymore. It's not like teams play their division very much anymore. Or that it's a particularly historical tradition. That scheduling change only bothered me because it changed playoff implications, not because I desire to watch Kansas City and Cleveland a bunch. It was probably a good change to make now that I've thought about it for a couple years. Plus I kinda like all the Central teams, people in Detroit aren't my rivals.

Birmingham game tied 2-2 going into extras...quick 5 runs given up by Coffey. Looking like Braden's hitting streak will come to an end. He attended the same high school as me, it would be awesome if he makes it to the Sox and performs! Cody Bellinger and Patrick Murphy (Blue Jays pitcher out of the league after 35 appearances, now in Korea) attended the same time as me (graduated two years after). Needless to say, I was never playing center field for that team. The local JuCo team is pretty good too. James Pazos played there but transferred to University of San Diego. And Andre Ethier, how could I forget about him.
